I use to work for webs, and now I need to print a few tags. So I prepared the first file (120 mm x 40 mm, 300ppp), saved in JPEG, and... what did I get, when I opened it in Photoshop to check? A picture of 120 mm x 40 mm, that's OK... but no 300 ppp but only 72 Therefore, measures in pixeles are just 341 x 114.
What's wrong?
I'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7.
3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?

I would like to use separate numbers for each window even though they are the same type. This would allow me to specify header required for each window in the schedule. I understand that I could edit the window families and save them as different files but this is time consuming. Is there an easier way?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just converted from PSE 10 to PSE 11.
Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
I am trying to create 30 name tags, what is the best way to do this? Do I use 30 art boards and paste the graphic in each, then go through and add the names to each? Or is there a way to create a template that I can apply to each, so if I were to make changes to the graphic I wouldn't have to change all 30? I'm fine with typing all 30 names just trying to eliminate some time if I have to make any changes to the graphic.

What we do is have a large data set imported into the Variables applet and use the Actions applet to record and export action and play it through the whole data set. We later combine the PDF files and print them as a batch.
My question is: Is there a way to create an action that will automatically print the data set while avoiding the print dialog box? It will make the process simple and move faster.
Also, what are your was of creating postcards? Catalogs?
How do people create a catalog with over 60 pages and keep the file size low?
I've found a repeatable bug in Adobe Illustrator CC..I assign a custom tag in the finder to any Adobe Illustrator file, say "current work" in yellow. It appears in my current work tag folder correctly.I open the file and make any change, save it and the tag is removed and replaced with just a generic tag saying "yellow".The file is of course then removed from my Current Work tag folder.
One of the main things in the new Apple Operating system that I was looking forward to in order to organize my work was these tags. The finder and Illustrator are not playing nicely together. This happens every single time in Illustrator with any file I tag, consistent, repeatable on both my computers. Illustrator removes the tags which removes one of the main features I was looking forward to in Mavericks.
I have a Samsung Laser printer. THe passive USB hub went bad yesterday, and I re-installed teh printer drivers. Everything prints fine from my on-line E-mail, Microsoft Word, etc. However, when I attempt to print from Adobe Illustrator I get a "Print to file" WINDOW that comes up, I never got this before I don't want to print to file (!!!!). I want to print to the printer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?
I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?
I have used multiple versions of Lightroom (2, 3, 4, and now 5). Why can't I add keyword tags to multiple photos? I know that it can be done while importing, but I usually import a whole day's worth of pictures at one time and they don't require all the same keyword tags. The ones that are common I do add during import. I used to be able to highlight the photos I wanted to add tags to, go to the metadata and find find the list of keywords applied to those photos. Tags that were not common to all photos has an * beside them. If I wished to have one of these tags for all the selected photos I just removed the *, otherwise I added the new tag to the list.

However, the images fequently will not print until the file is closed and re-opened again, no matter what we are printing to, or even if a PDF is saved from the file, vector data is output, but not the eps images. This is putting a serious strain on our Graphics dept. as the files must now be revisited, and steps repeated.

The problem I'm having is when I try print something from Illustrator it crashes but when uninstall Adobe Acrobat it allowes me to print but still the top menu is a bit funny, file, edit, etc. could I down load a new copy of CS4 and us my serial number?
I could work with it but I work like to be able to us Adobe Distiller cause where I'm getting my stuff printed say thats the best way to say a pdf for better quality.
I've printed a large Illustrator CS6 document to PDF (using Adobe PDF setting in print dialog box), and it looks just fine when I view the PDF. The problem is that some lines do not print when I try to print the PDF on paper. I've tried adjusting settings and printing to the PDF in different ways, but can't figure it out. Everything looks great on the screen, but some lines are missing once printed to paper. Others have tried printing the PDF as well and are also getting missing lines.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my iMac to Mavericks, and am now having trouble printing from CS5. The message I get is "Can't print the illustration. The Color Management settings are inconsistent." I hadn't made any color management changes, so I assume this is related to the upgrade. I checked AI, PS, ID, and Acrobat, and all the settings are North American General Purpose 2. I opened Bridge, and it has the same color setting, and says that all CS apps are synchronized using the same color settings.

I am designing invites for my sister, who wants to print them at home (I normally send a pdf to an online printer), and it would be economical for her to print 2-up, but I cannot figure out how to save my work and allow for that.
My work is a 5x7 artboard with 0.125 bleed in Illustrator. I know how to convert to a PDF with crop marks for online printers, but how do I get 2 on the page for my sis to print at home?
Illustartor never used to do this. I have installed it onto a new computer with a windows 8 operating system. The file I was working with was simple, but had aprox. 30 layers to it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created a typographic world map in illustrator. So nearly every major city, country, and body of water have been typed out using the type tool. I usually export out of illustrator with a set dimension (say 16 x 20in) @ 500 ppi jpeg for great quality. I did this with this map to test it out before selling. It came back from the printing company looking quite pixelated. Photos are perfect for that workflow, but I didn't think about needing to read those little villages in greenland. So although you can tell what it is (a map with cities & such), 90% of the map is unreadable. exporting this thing differently so that everything would be ledgible just like maps are in textbooks? I tried making it 40in wide and set the ppi to 1500 (haha) with tiff output which would make it a monster but illustrator crashes and I'm not sure a printer can even print that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a client who is requesting that their "image" be saved as a PNG at "715px X 915px at 72 dpi", and have it print with the text crisp and clear. I have tried to convince them to use a PDF instead to ensure that the print quality would be where they want it to be however they reject that idea.
1. They are requesting 72 dpi not ppi. There is a difference, one is screen one is print. You cant have both in my opinion. I have been using ppi, since that is the setting that illustrator and photoshop allows.
2. You also should not save anything for print at 72 ppi. That will not produce the best quality image regardless.
3. I have attempted several different ways to save this.
- I have saved it in illustrator as a png and mulitple resolutions.
- I have used my illustrator png and put in Photoshop and re saved it, after re sizing it. The dimensions in illustrator never seem to stay accurate.
- i have attempted to save it as a PDF and convert to PNG is acrobat.
None of these work. There is no issue getting it to look nice on screen, its the printing part that I am having an issue with. When I save it at anything higher then 72 it increases the dimensions. If I create it at anything higher then 72, the dimensions increase as well. I have not been able to keep it at 715px x 915 px and have it print clearly. They come back and tell me i need to decrease the size, or the text is too blurry.
How do I get this PNG to be 715px by 915px at a 72 ppi (or dpi) resolution look good on screen, and print with clear crisp text?
i am trying to print on black cardstock, but the ink won't show up. What can i do?

all 4 printed well, had no problems.this last one, the printer gave the foll:
1. The is overprint issues on the pdf files.
2. Some pages the fonts are not embedded.
3. There is spot colours in the job.
it is 24 pages
I did not change my setting at all as from my previous brochures. So I am completely lost in how to solve it and not for it to happen again.We used the same printer for all the brochures.
Even the flyers I recently did, saying the same problems. Am using the same printer.
