I opened a pdf page in Illustrator to extract the image. Missing font dialog box was not shown while opening the pdf page but junk characters (box-like) appeared in the file.
The font used for these characters is Times New roman composite True type. This font could not be replaced with Times new roman true type font. how to avoid the junk characters while opening the pdf page in Illustrator
This didn't used to happen, but now whenever I open an Illustrator file, the "Find Font" dialog opens as though the fonts I'm using aren't found. Not sure what it wants me to do because no matter what I try nothing resolves. I simply click the "Done" button and go about my business. And there are no problems. Why is this happening? and why now? My fonts are always loaded before I open the file, the file looks and handles just fine.

I'm currently updating a LOT, and I mean A LOT of old forms, I have to replace the old Helvetica fonts for a new set we bought recently, and I realised that the Find Font dialog box is no longer "extensible". Is this now a "normal" behavior for Illustrator? Is there a workaround, or a preference somewhere I missed?
If this is a choice from the developers, let me say that removing features IS NOT a good way to go!In the meantime I'll revert to CS5 for that particular batch..If CC is going the same way I.E. removing features instead of improving old ones I'll pass..

I want to set up a default opening page but this time, it's not a clear path to do so. How do I set up an opening page with a new font, rulers, empty fill etc. as the default page without having to search for a template each time I open a new page? Where does the default page to go now? etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet's say I create a poster with a couple of blocks of text in Illustrator, using a single font. Then, I generate a PDF of the poster.
Now, on the same computer, I open the PDF in Illustrator, and Illustrator pops-up an alert saying some text has been outlined to preserve appearance. And, indeed, here and there throughout the text, some words, combination of words, or whole lines of text have been outlined, but most of the text is still live.
Why does this happen? There's no difference, font-wise, between the text that is untouched, and the text that got outlined. Same face, same weight. In fact, the same word, set the same way, will be untouched in one line, and be outlined elsewhere in the text. It's really baffling.
I work with PDFs generated in AutoCAD.When opening these files in Illustrator, the default font is always set to Myriad Pro.
How can I substitute my desired font for Myriad when opening EXISTING files, short of copy/pasting into a new file? That workaround is just as time-consuming as resetting the font every time I work on a new document.Illustrator has to be referencing something when defaulting to this font. It seems unbelievable that this setting cannot be altered.

Just yesterday I noticed that the file date shown in Autocad's open file dialog box shows an earlier time than Windows Explorer, which shows the file date and time correctly. When I enter the "time" command on the autocad command line, the correct time is shown for the "last updated" time.
For example:
The Autocad open file dialog box shows the file having a time/date of 4/23/2013 3:54 PM
Windows Explorer shows the file having a time/date of 4/23/2013 4:10 PM

I rebooted and restarted autocad, and resaved my file with the same results (although with different times-but again the autocad open file dialog box showed an incorrect, earlier time). I have never had this problem before, and it is driving me crazy as I usually sort my files by date to assure that I am working with the latest file.
I need to do some repetitive task on a lot of dynamic blocks, unfortunately, when I open each file, AutoCAD keeps asking if I want to open it with the block editor.
Is there a way to disable that dialog and open the files as normal dwgs?
A hint: BLOCKEDITLOCK doesn't make it, it shows another dialog...
How do I change the font used in the PS CS4 "File Info" dialog? The type on my Vista 64 machine is unreadable. All of the menus and everything else are okay; it's just this one dialog box. It's hard to keyword images.
The same dialog box on my Windows XP laptop looks fine, and I don't know why my desktop is using a different (inferior) font.
I recently got a new computer, with Windows Vista. I used my wife's existing CD to install Paint Shop Pro 7 (from 2001 - yikes!). It seems fine, except for a few of the preferences. The BIG problem is that the [Printer] button on the Page Setup dialog no longer appears! Here's the verbiage from the PaintShopPro7 user guide:

Other ctb files are visible. I have used stylesmanager to locate where to copy it in, and done so. I have tried the command CONVERTPSTYLES in case my dwg was not color style based but I get this message:

Doesn't this mean that my dwg is already a color dependent plot style dwg? I have successfully copied and used this ctb file somewhere else yesterday, and feel I am doing the exact same thing, so very frustrated and lost. I really need to get these dwgs out!
For some reason, when I go to open my latest MAX2014 file... the State Sets dialog shows briefly on the screen while the file is being opened but then disappears just before the file finishes opening.
I don't use State Sets so I'm not sure why this dialog is showing.
I've written a program with c#.net for selecting objects and creating block without opening a window in autocad. But when I run its dll in autocad, it makes a block including many of the selected objects by me/user in one block.

There is a process bar which moves very slowly, and a Cancel button.
If i hit Cancel the dialog box goes away and my file loads right away in what ever program I'm using.
My request is: How do i get this stupid box to pop up all the time, when i'm not even wanting to use PSPX3?
This is an annoying change from acad 2007 to acad 2011. Every time I start and end the Mtext command, as the dialog box opens and closes, the screen "shudders", or "jumps" a little. It is hard on my eyes. I have explored the MTEXTFIXED and the MTEXTED commands, but I can't get it to settle down.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the past two days, two-page PDFs that I save out of CS6 are printing with the second page upside down. I have tried resaving the documents—didn't work. Tried saving the documents as individual PDFs and combining the PDFs in Acrobat—didn't work. I have had my colleagues print them, and the second page is upside-down too. When I print two-page PDFs that I saved last week or longer ago, I have no problem at all. It just seems to be happening with recently saved PDFs. I didn't update any software on my computer between saving the PDFs that are printing correctly and when this problem began.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI received dual monitors a while ago and I've noticed an annoying issue with VBA dialogs. No matter which screen I have inventor open on all but one of my dialog boxes opens to the far left side of my right monitor. This is quite annoying as I normally have to drag the dialog bad to a better spot.
All of my dialogs have the "Center Owner" for the start up position selected. I can't explain why one scripts dialog box appeared centered and the rest don't.
I have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?
Just tried to edit in Color Efex from Lightroom and got the dialogue. So...it's only happening with Photoshop. I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling with updated Camera Raw 6.7 plugin. No luck....
I just tried to open a CorelDRAW document on my other computer where I'm obviously missing one of the document's fonts.
Problem:
The CorelDRAW font substitution dialog does not list the missing fonts:
Thus, it's impossible to install them to get the document working as expected.x.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.
