View 3 RepliesWhat is people's preference in regards to TrueType or PostScript fonts? Is one that much better than the other? I have read a bit on both these formats to understand the techincal stuff behind them, and there doesn't seem to be much between them. I understand you have to have Adobe Type Manager installed to use PostScript fonts, but i read that it's better to use them when having work professionally printed. However, i am not sure exactly why this is, and if the advantages of PostScript fonts in this regard is worth the expense of purchasing Adobe Type Manager. I have always used TrueType fonts (as do most people), but as i'm getting more work printed professionally, i got to wondering about PostScript fonts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just updated to PS 9.01 and all my fonts (including Truetype) have gone bitmapped.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy customer is recently importing our drawings (.dxf preferably, but pdf is acceptable) and they need single stroke fonts / polylines to ensure that the file import will be successful (otherwise, with true type fonts, the contours and filling separate and shift, which makes the text unreadable).
All fonts in Inventor (.idw files)Â are true type fonts, and I can't find any option to stroke the fonts when exporting to .dxf or .pdf.
Raster images are not allowed, so I cannot simply export the file as an image and then back to a vector file. Any option I just don't see in the export settings...
I am creating a document in Tamil. Normally I type in Google document. Then copy and paste in Word. It works perfectly.
Â
Now I am creating a poster in Adobe illustrator. I did type in google and pasted in notepad. It works perfectly.
Â
When I copy and past in Adobe Illustrator the font is not displaying correctly.                   Â
Â
In preferences-->Type-->Text Engine options I selected 'Middle Eastern', previousy it was 'East Asia', after that the Tamil letters are getting displayed correctly.
 Â
I have seen another post which says I need to enable show Indic option. [URL] Unfortunately I do not have Indic option. My screen looks different
Â
I have some tamil fount installed. When I tried to change the fount to tamil font, it does not work either. I have another font called Latha. When I changed to Latha font the character displayed in Tamil but all spelling went wrong in Tamil.
Basically i want to edit the forms of a san serif type ( or make my own (if it is easy)) .
I want to edit type because im making an animation where the font letters are morphing in to other letters.
i.e. - A into B into C etc.
i can draw this - the problem is that im gonna have to 100s if i want a smooth animation and i would of thought using illustrator would be alot quicker and i can use more frames.
i use Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 and i know that it's possible to add some fonts on it. I've downloaded them but don't know where to put them, i can't find the "Fonts" folder in Adobe folder. Also i want the font that is on this website: URL....

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince applying the latest Microsoft updates to XP/SP3 last week I can now no longer add Open Type 1 or Type 1 fonts to Fonts in Windows, and therefore can't add more fonts for use in Photoshop CS3. I tried a new hard drive, reloaded with XP/SP3 plus updates and the exact same thing occurs. Any of those types of fonts I try to add come up as corrupt/can't load, when in fact they are not corrupt and the exact same font files load with no problem in another XP/SP3 machine that hasn't had the updates applied, and they also load without a hitch in a Vista machine. Anyone else, who has all the updates installed noticing this? Anyone have a solution? I know that this isn't exactly 100% related to Photoshop only, but it does affect the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of Adobe Post Script fonts installed using Adobe Type Manager. I'm using Windows Vista Enterprise. First of all, is this C:PSFONTS and C:PSFONTSPFM the correct location for Adobe fonts under Windows Vista? I just installed about four Adobe post script fonts using Type Manager and it does not show up any of Adobe's product including Photoshop and LiveCycle. I also went back into Adobe Type Manager and look at the fonts that I just installed under the Fonts tab and I could not find it.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have to install photoshop cs6 on a new machine..os windows 7 64bit the installation gives me some options
Â
1) install 64bit and 32bit or only 64bit
Â
2) extra fonts
Â
may i ask you a explanation?
Â
1) install 64bit and 32bit is for old plugins compatibility?
Â
2) does the installer store the extra fonts in the adobe folder? i mean does photoshop share these fonts with windows or are used only by photoshop.
I have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.
When I am using Lightroom 5.2, and I try to edit a file in Adobe Photoshop CC from Lightroom, Photoshop starts up and after 15 to 20 seconds, I receive the following error message: "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched." If I click "OK" on the error message form, the image finally opens in Photoshop.
Â
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC multiple times, but the edit in Photoshop problem won't go away.
I have the new Canon 5D Mark III, and I updated to Lightroom 4.1 so I can import the 5D3 RAW image into LR. But when I go to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5" or "Merge to HDR Pro in PhotoShop", PS starts, but it doesn't load any files. I was assuming this is because the PS Camera Raw is out of date. So I downloaded the cameraraw6-7_r1_win_030612, but when try to install it, I get "Some updates failed to install. Update is not applicable".

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is well documented that when text objects using a TrueType font (ie Arial) have a non zero elevation that they do not display correctly. Â Before we upgraded (in May our office upgraded from C3D2009 to C3D2014) I was meticulous about making sure our text objects always had a zero elevation and we largely avoided any problems.
However in Civil 3D 2014 it seems that by default contour label objects and certain other label objects are given a non-zero elevation (they are assigned the elevation of the contour or in the case of a pipe network object, the manhole rim elevation). Â Thus the text in these labels displays incorrectly.
This is a very frustrating problem as we are now faced with having to revert all of our styles back to .shx based fonts. Â Is Autodesk aware of the bug?
We are using an iFilter that reads DWG files but it only seems to get text displayed in a TrueType font. Can you reccommend an iFilter that reads/indexes/catalogs all the text on a DWG file no matter the font?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm perfectly happy with the TrueType font (BankGothic Md BT), but all the style settings change to the T1 equivalent every time I close, and when I open the file again the T1 text does not show up. I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.

This works in InDesign.. and every other program on Earth... is there ANY way to do this in Illy CS4?
One of the few software that didn't play nice was CS3, so I had to re-install it. Now, many of the fonts won't show up. I'm doing a logo for a client and I need some fonts but fonts from the following- New Peninim, Corsiva Hebrew, Ariel Hebrew and/or Raanana-- don't appear after you engage the Type tool. What shows up in both Photoshop and especially Illustrator is a square box with nothing in it.
Â
columns on line and followed 4 or 5 different "solutions"-- nothing seems to work. I even, against my suspicions, called the Adobe customer service and the best they could offer was to post a question here if my answer was not apparent.

Bearing in mind that I've put fonts in the Adobe folder, reset characters and a few other things since yesterday.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with Illustrator 6. I had a previous verison (CS4 and CS5) that was used to created some documents. I'm having trouble with the fonts used translating to the new version even though in the font library, all the fonts I need are listed there.
Â
Is there an issue with backwards compatability?
I just upgraded to CS6 from CS4. Some fonts that worked without a problem in CS4 no longer even show up in the font options in CS6. I use Font Agent Pro to manage my fonts. They are not corrupt, they work on other computers, and were purchased from online font foundries.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Illustrator CS5 and I am having problems with my fonts. I like to type my text, highlight it, and then click on the font I am using and scroll down so I can see the text I've type changed until I find the font I want.

However, I am having some issues - it only seems to go through fonts in sections. I have a lot of fonts on my computer but I cant scroll through more than about 10/15 without it either jumping to the end/bottom font or going back to the font I started on.
