So, I'm creating a logotype. It consists of a black rectangle and then there is some white text on top of it. However, when I save the file as pdf, the whole file is transparent.

However, the rounded corner area show a black background around each corner. When I save for the web,do I need to choose something else in the Matte and Transparency dropdown menus?

I am saving a PDF from Illustrator CS4 that contains only 100% black text. My print provider is telling me that the text in the PDF has been converted to 4C, rich black. I have tried all different PDF creation settings (high quality, press quality, PDFX3, default) from Illustrator but nothing works. How can I create a PDF that maintains 100% black and prevents it from converting to process black?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been messing with a simple black rectangle and when I transform it, jagged edges appear. This is the base for a logo for web. I have anti-alising checked in pref. The logo looks horrible and blurry/jagged on the edges even when previewed on several screens from pc to mac.
this is also happening with text, that has been made an object (top of text seen in the rectangle.)
When saving my image from adobe illustrator to pdf areas of my image become transparent. How can i stop this from happening?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on a Mac (Snow Leapord) with Photoshop CS6. When I try to save a sliced and transparent PSD in the Save For Web dialog box with PNG-24, the transparency dissapears once exported. I have the transparency and interlaced boxes both checked. The images appear transparent in the Optimized Save for Web dialog box, but the transparency dissapears once exported out of Photoshop.
I never had a problem with this when I was using CS4...
If I make a rectangle, add a stroke border around it, is there a way to make the area of the rectangle clear/transparent but keep the stroke boarder 100% visible?
This can be easily done in InDesign by just picking (none) as a color but I dont see an obvious way to do it in photoshop.
I have a solid color rectangle on a layer.
I would like to create several similar rectangles on different layers with different opacity levels (i.e. 90%/75%/50% etc), that will match the solid color rectangle exactly, when they are against a white background.
I used Hue/Saturation on the transparent rectangles to approximate the solid color, but the eyedropper shows that I am a of couple values off. Is there a way to accurately match these colors exactly?
I am having lots of difficulty with this. I'm trying to create a rectangle that is transparent with rounded corners but I need the rounded rectangle outlined. Now I know how to create a rounded rectangle what I am doing for that is the following;
creating an image, selecting add alpha chanel, then selecting rounded rectangle, invert then cut.
The problem is I need the rounded rectangle outlined. When I try to use the paintbrush with stroke it outlines the image but when I go to save it it saves the whole image including the cut corners.
In essence. I just want to make a rounded transparent rectangle. Then have it outlined. This would be for a web page.

I'm using CS6 on my MacPro and and MacBook Pro (both running 10.6.8). When i use the crop tool on my laptop, an annoying black rectangle with dimensional data pops up whenever I crop. This does not happen on my desktop. I need this turned off on my laptop as well.

I'm using photoshop 7. If I save for web and save as PNG and preserve transparency, it seems to be showing up on forums as transparent for some of the people, but I still see a white box behind my siggy on colored pages. I'm also seeing the white background on all of the buttons on the forum, and the creator of the forum saved them all as PNG and she sees no white. Does this have something to do with the version of IE I'm running (which I'm pretty sure is 6)?? I've asked several other windows users on the forum if they see the white background and they say no! I see it on all 3 of my computers.

No matter how I create it I experience banding (demo attached).
Adding noise/blur or changing dither and bit settings do not work. It's not a monitor issue.
I'm new to VideoStudio X5.
When I add pre-keyed clips (MOV files PNG coded) with alpha-channel (straight) in an VideoStudio X5 overlay track - the transparent parts show up black.
To make them transparent, I have to key-out the black with chroma key. I don't get this.
All of my transparent parts show up black, both in the video preview window as in the thumbnails of my video folder window.
Is there a setting I should apply to have the transparent parts show up transparent - as they should?
I have photoshop7. I have designed a web page in photo shop. I am trying to send it to someone so that she can place it on her web page. I have for example some font that has, inner glow,bevel&emboss,and color overlay. How do I save it so that it looks the same on my photoshop page as it will on someone elses page. When I save it as a transparent gif it's coming out on her page with the correct colors but instead of having the emboss effect it looks like it's stroked in white. I have tried doing it few ways now but no luck. I'm sure I'm missing a step some where.

I haven't upgraded to any other version yet because the original 7.0 actually has a certain bug in it that has been very useful. The bug has something to do with transparency, alpha channels, and TGA files. Somehow this bug lets me save transparent TGA files without creating an alpha channel. All I have to do is save the image as 32 bit and it will come out exactly how I made it. No white backgrounds, just smooth transparent edges. Its easy since I don't have to waste time manually painting a black/white map. I'm wondering if theres a way to do this in the newer versions, but after trying the demos it seems like there isn't. I don't know much about alpha channels, but I make dozens of TGA images with clear backgrounds so I really hope there is an easier way around this. To have to manually color the clear/solid areas with a paintbrush and lasso for each image seems like a nightmare. I wanted to get CS4 but I think it would be easier to just stick with this old version for this reason.

However, when i open the same image in an image-viewer, the background actually is transparent.
I am trying to put text with a black light film in the background at the bottom of the picture and I cannot do it. I don't know how to isolate the portion of the picture I want with the text with the light black background while you can still see the picture through black background.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to add some black boarders to my fotos that fade to transparent. a little bit like this [URL]But with the difference that I dont need the boarders to be really really dark. they sould be more transparent where I can still see some of the details of the foto layer beneath. The idea is more to give my pictures some slightly darker boarders so that I can print them out and they look somehow similar when I put them on the wall...
So theoretically i thought of adding a new layer, make a rounded selection, invert the selection and use the blend tool from black to transparent (if this is somehow possible). I have removed the white background from an image. The transparent background remains preserved when I keep it as a psd. but when I try to save it as a jpg or print to pdf the white background reappears....
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm making a .Gif with transparent background. I've added an alpha channel on all layers and erased background I don't want to move in all layers except the last one. I've set it to combine the layers in the "Save As" pop-up, dithered the image (positioned,) and enabled dithering of transparent while converting to index. Looks fine in Gimp, but after I save it, the alpha layer saves as solid black instead of staying transparent to show the first layer's background. I would like to stay positioned indexed instead of automatically as it keeps the integrity of the image better. Is there a step I missed in keeping the layer's transparent after saving?

I'm working on a video whit a video editing program and I need to insert the picture without the useless white background, just the object.
Example:
In the middle the picture of an object whit the white background. I want just the object without the white background.
I have an image that is semi-transparent. I am able to take the black out of the background around it, but am unsure about how to remove the actual background from behind the image. I need to superimpose this image onto another-hence the background change. I have the newest version of PS.
