What I have so far: I am aware of the "line" option. BUT it paints the stroke OUTSIDE of the rectangle and extends its size. This is NOT what I would like to have.

Mar 2, 2013What would be the best approach to draw a mountain outline using a vector approach & fill, but be able to adjust the outline later via a vector approach? (i.e. outline shouldn't get rasterized)
So the approach would need to be able to:
* create the outline & selection with a vector based approach
* vector selection has to be effectively saved for later
* modification later should support getting access to the original handles of the vector selection (say with Pen tool) and make adjustment
* after adjustement of the vector area is made, the fill should automatically occur on the extended or contracted area
approach/which tools to use in CS6 to be able to do this?

Oct 9, 2008I have a solid color rectangle on a layer.
I would like to create several similar rectangles on different layers with different opacity levels (i.e. 90%/75%/50% etc), that will match the solid color rectangle exactly, when they are against a white background.
I used Hue/Saturation on the transparent rectangles to approximate the solid color, but the eyedropper shows that I am a of couple values off. Is there a way to accurately match these colors exactly?

Jun 2, 2011Using autocad 2008. I cant draw a rectangle using 2 points. I don't need a specific size just want to put a box around text. I used to pick a point and then pick point 2 to draw rectangle. On this computer when I use rectangle it ask for length and then width. Is there a system variable that won't let me put in p1 and drag to p2 to make a rectangle?

I am using Illustrator CS6 in the options field under the version catagory.
Warning: Saving to a legacy format found may cause some changes your text layout and disable some editing features is read back in. Also any hidden Appearance attributes will be discarded.
Only fonts with appropriate permisssion will be embedded.

The red line is the specified rectangle. It seems like SetRowHeight and SetColumnWidth are not working.
FYI, the rectangle size is around width = 3.5m height = 5m.

Illustrator :: Rotating Text With Rectangle Fill?
Oct 8, 2012I need to create a text with a rectangle background and a coloured border around this rectangle. Here is what I do:
- I create a text
- I select the text and add a fill and a stroke that I then transform into a rectangle
- I now have my "label" as I want it to be but now I need to rotate it.
Problem is I can rotate the text but fill and stroke don't follow, they remain horizontal and just adapt so that it still fits the text. As a result I have a rotated font with a big rectangle box. Can I rotate fill+stroke with the text?
