I just want to select the image, and transform it into just an outline of the pick, all transparent everywhere except the outline shape of the pick. Almost the same as if I had drawn the pick with the pen tool, but I don't want to have to draw it.

I draw some shapes, then go to outline mode and the center lines are now missing. They used to work. Still have them in CS5.
Here are a couple of images that show what I mean.
Here in 5 you can see the center points in each shape
Here is a similar picture from 6 with the center points missing.
The center points do show up if I put my cursor over the shape.
I have Illustrator CS6 running on a 2011 iMac, 4GB RAM. Error message states it cannot finish previewing file and reverts to outline mode. I've read that this issue should have been fixed with the 64 bit upgrade in CS6. How can I improve the performance? More RAM?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently self teaching myself using 3D on a current project I'm working on. A cable stayed bridge having a span of 30 metres supported primarily by a single diagonal parabolic arch. The arch is square in section but rotated so it looks like a diamond along the arch length. To draw the arch I have drawn the arch sections at intervals along the centreline where it changes size in section 1.4, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0m. I have then used the loft command to draw the arch using the drawn sections as the objects to loft through.
For the GA drawing I have a plan view and elevation. When printing the generated/ lofted lines are are pixelated and not very crisp or clear (not a solid line).
I have tried adjusting the visual style and shade plot, for each of the options and none of them are giving me a solid crisp outline for the generated arch. I have also had a little play using the visual styles manager but nothing seems to work and also tried maximum quality in the print options.
What do I need to do to print a solid crisp outline for the outline of the arch please, are you able to select the edges of the square and convert them to solid 2d/ 3d lines.

Any singulat anchor points dont't display in outline mode until they will select. In previos versions they displayed as cross. How to fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a wavy line (the zigzag feature is not exactly what I need here) to outline a shape and then fill it with a solid color.
This is approx what I want; however the undulation needs to be more round and less peaked.
We know this famous CRTL+Y shortcut , it turns the artwork in something ugly , all these wires lol.
But what is the real use fo the "outline view" ?
I am using Illustrator Cs6 on windows and when I used to switch to outline view there used to be a crosshair mark showing the center of shapes and the same mark for stray points, and about a week ago those marks have disappeared. I checked the attributes window to make sure the center mark is on and its still not showing centers in outline mode. Did i accidentally change a setting i didnt know about? if so is there a fix? those center crosshairs sure were useful...

View 1 Replies View RelatedMost engravings into solids are done in real life with a V shaped engraving bit along a text outline. Having come from a very dated Inventor 7, I was hoping my new Inventor Professional 2012 edition would be able to tackle this with ease. I thought the embossing of text would provide what was needed, but the emboss feature only seems to engrave the solid of the text and not an outline of text. With no luck there, I decided to import an AutoCAD text outline onto the surface of my model and try to sweep the tool shape over the path. I’ve been successful only with text that is composed of straight lines. Any text shape with an arc or line segments is frustrating me like crazy.
I’ve attached a file showing my successful engraving over some letters of the text. This is my desired output. When trying to sweep the tool path along the “R” in the model, an error comes up saying: The attempted operation resulted in the creation of a self-intersecting surface. Try with different inputs.
When trying to sweep the tool path along the “C” in the model, it actually displays a preview of the end result; however, a different error comes up saying: The attempted operation had problems trimming and discarding faces. Try with different inputs.
I am creating a two-storey single-family house. The exterior wall assembly is Core Boundary, 3/8" Stucco (we apply a Stucco material to our Sheathing so in Section we aren't showing a finish material on the exterior), 5 1/2" <By Category> (our studs), Core Boundary, Air Barrier, 1/2" Gypsum Wall Board. We draw the floor system to the face of our studs and extend our walls to the bottom of the floor system, then when we join geometry the floor cuts out the wall leaving only the wall sheathing extending to the face of our floor system.
My problem is when I create a 3D perspective view with the camera my floor system is showing through the walls. It seems to thin out/disappear the larger the perspective view is on the page, but I can only make it so big on C-size page.
Is there a way to hide what Revit shows detailed behind the face of a material?(I tried hiding the floor system in my perspective view but it stills shows the floor outline, I'm assuming because it is being cut out of the assembly).

I was working in a drawing doing some copying/pasting from marquee selections. Somehow I now have a light blue line stretching horizontally from one side of the screen to the other. It runs out past the canvas of the drawing to the edges of the PS window.
I think it occured while I was switching tools with hotkeys and my computer lagged a little bit. It's like a gridline, but I can't find anyway to delete/turn off/move it. When I make a marquee it seems to snap to it as a boundary.
This line doesn't appear in other drawings, so it's just something that I've done in this particular file.
How I could make those gridlines i have in the top layer fading out to the right?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen you're in source-sequence mode and push "f15" key (that is "player view mode" shortcut) several times, you can switch between different view modes. One in particular kept my attention: you can output a video frame with 3840x1080 resolution (double full hd), composed by primary output (on the left) and secondary output (on the right).
The strange thing is that these two video streams (primary and secondary) are not in sync: in fact secondary one is always delayed by one frame.
What is the purpose of this view mode? Is it possible to sync primary and secondary output in this particular mode? It would be great, because this way we could finally output stereoscopic 3D in side-by-side mode!
How does one change the field of view while in perspective mode? I am not referring to a camera's field of view, but the field of view which is displayed on your screen while panning and "walking" around a model. Similar to how sketchup lets you change from 1 to 120 degrees at any given time.
