Is it possible to view ours drawings in transparent mode or something like that in the visual style REALISTIC so when Explode my drawings I can see the parts as well as the hidden sections of the drawing.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to insert blocks into my drawings and for the most part I have been successful using Design Center. However, I have difficulties turning some of those blocks from the Plan View into the Elevation View, even when they show as elevation blocks. Even the downloads that show as 3-D end up being inserted as 2-D in plan view. In floor plan mode, I have no problem; so how do I turn them into 2-D in elevation mode?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working with AutoCAD 2012 and I was surprised to find out that after typing: 'CAL "Expression" came up; and from all appearances, you'd think Autocad was awaiting (if not expecting) my input. However, none appeared on screen as I typed.
CAL command worked.
My setvar of CALCINPUT is set to 1.
I have multiple pages I want printed. So I click on my "quick view drawings" on the bottom right.I then click on "Publish".It says that my project is publishing in the background.This doesn't change. the publishing icon keeps moving and it looks like it is working but this will go on for hours, not advancing pages.
This used to have Autodesk Autocad 12 and it worked fine.
I'm currently learning Inventor and going through the tutorials. At present I am learning about drawings. For some reason the scale (e.g 1:1) and dimension numbers do not appear in the drawings. I can see the arrows that make the dimensions but that is all. How to turn these on? I have tried every setting I can find but it appears that I can't figure this out.

The plot will vary per drawing but limited to the ledger and tabloid paper size, the plot area is set to window for the area the border contains, and the plot scale is fit to paper.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSomeone was using my computer and maybe they clicked on some button but now if I am in a layout and double click on my viewport I can not change the View Scale by typing in a custom scale.
I typically work in meters and do subdivision layout so I use 1:500 up to 1:5,000 but now even though the view ports are unlocked the number will not change when I type it in but I can zoom in and out with my mouse.
I can pick a scale in viewport scale like 1:5 1:1 but prefer to type in my scale as I like to plot it.
I have AutoCad LT and I can't find a way to scroll through folders full of drawings without opening each one. I have the Autocad Viewer but I can't find a way to make it do this, what are you pros doing, I know there has to be something out there. The rest of the world has way to view file i.e. Photoshop has Bridge, Nikon Has View NX, I do photography and there's a ton of ways to view images even at full res .

View 8 Replies View RelatedI use the "view" tab to create a half section view of an assembly. This works fine, but if I try to measure anything, move or select a component, or export image to a .jpg then it automatically returns back to "end section view" mode.
Without the ability to operate in a section view the it is impossible to constrain components that are placed deep inside of other components. This make this view function useless except for just looking at it on the screen. This worked in 2012 and will not in 2013. How do I correct this?
I have a parametric assembly and some of the parts in this assembly require a "Break". When the part dramatically reduces in size the part view disappears as the part is now located in the "Break". Delete the "Break", re apply the "Break".
I would like to be able to constrain a Break to the part, either a sketch on the view or maybe from Workplanes in the part.
I am trying to rotate a 3dPolyline, so that I can check(view) the Z-value of vertices in the top-view mode.
The following is the example which I am trying to achieve.
The white 3dPolyline has vertices at each intersecting point with the contour lines. Each vertax has Z-value.
I want to rotate this white 3dPolyline in 3D, so that I can make the red 2dPolyline. (Z-value becomes Y-value)
And the start point of the white 3dPolyline becomes the left most point of the red line.
The end point of the white 3dPolyline becomes the right most point of the red line.
Currently, I am doing this by making a new 2dPolyline, manually inserting Z-values as Y-values.
But it looks like my code can be neater if I use TrnasformBy(Matrix3d.Projection).
I am not good with Geometry, so how to use this Matrix3d.Projection.
Need a quick code snippet to make this function? (preferably in C#)

I have a logo that I want to layer on top of a background image that will together act as the header for the webpage.
The easy thing to do would be to create an image on photoshop layering the background image and the logo, with the logo blend effect, and then save and upload. Problem is that I want the background image to resize with the browser window - without resizing the logo.
Therefore, I figured I could save the background image and logo files separately, and then layer them using HTML and CSS. For it to look comparable therefore, I want to keep the background of the logo transparent. I would also like to set the blend mode of the logo to linear dodge (add) - so that whatever size the background image is scaled to, the logo remains the same size, with the same blend mode. The problem is that when I save the logo as a transparent png file (24-bit), it is not maintaining the blend mode.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Ditch subassembly in my corridor and am running into a problem when using realistic mode to view.
I've applied a render material to L3, L2 and L4 which is fine but when I assign a material to L1-L5 (i.e Top) it overdraws (or otherwise fails to display) the previously assigned materials for L2, L3 and L4.
If I set the Links L1-L5 (i.e. Top) to no display then L2, L3 and L4 display as expected but when IMX'd to Infraworks the existing terrain shows through at Links L1 and L5.
Is it possible to stop this from happening and have a seperate material for L1 and L5 whilst retaining L2,L3 & L5 materials?

I have a PSD file that has a couple layers that are shadows and highlights for t-shirt textures. Then I have other layers that are the colors of the shirts, so I can swap the color out and it looks like the appropriate t-shirt color with the shirt textures and shadows. My ultimate goal is to export the shirt textures with no color background and keeping it a transparent png. I want to use this transparent image on a website that has color behind it and can change the color using html Divs.
The issue is when I turn off the lower layer colors of the shirt the image is not trasnparent it is white. The multiply layers don't stay transparent. Is there a way to export the multiply layers as transparent? Is there a way to remake the layers as a raster image, rather than using the layer blending modes?
Is there an option in drawing mode to exclude certain parts from a section view.
According to ASME Y14.3 parts such as shafts, keys bolts and nuts should be excluded in sectional view. Its not just removing the Hatching, the part has to show completely.
The closest I found in Inventor is that you can exclude Standard parts from being sectioned. Some of my parts are not in the standard library.
I would like to have the option to choose which parts I want to section and which ones I don't.
A colleague of mine has problems when moving a textbox.She grab the textbox with the mouse, the complete work area change to a white background, so she doesn't see, where she has to drop the mouse cursor. After she drop the mouse cursor, the background change to the graphic again.

I have an image (jpeg) showing in the model view as transparent 50.
However, when it is viewed in Layout view the image is not tranparent. The VP transparency is also set to 50 in layer properties.
We are having a little trouble with a .dwg we need to create. (we create all are drawings that would be .idw as .dwg so users of light etc can view and mark up the files.)
The part has a Perspex (to represent glass) front with some framework behind the Perspex. We have created a base view of it in a drawing and can see through the Perspex when the view is in render mode, but if we switch to hidden line removed (as our drawing standards dictate) all the detail behind the Perspex disappears.
Is there a way to make the Perspex part transparent when the view is in Hidden Line Removed mode.

I have Just upgraded my LR3 catalogs to LR4. I am able to view my images in Library mode but when I switch to Develop it says no photo selected and there are no images in my film strip. What is going on ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen you're in source-sequence mode and push "f15" key (that is "player view mode" shortcut) several times, you can switch between different view modes. One in particular kept my attention: you can output a video frame with 3840x1080 resolution (double full hd), composed by primary output (on the left) and secondary output (on the right).
The strange thing is that these two video streams (primary and secondary) are not in sync: in fact secondary one is always delayed by one frame.
What is the purpose of this view mode? Is it possible to sync primary and secondary output in this particular mode? It would be great, because this way we could finally output stereoscopic 3D in side-by-side mode!
Is there a capability in 'Illustrator CS6' to use solid lines for the grid, instead of dots, while working in the outline view/mode?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with the secondary display (window, in my case; only one monitor). When I first open the secondary display, either with a keyboard shortcut or by clicking, all is fabulous. The display modes (Grid, Loupe, Compare, Survey) are visible & clickable, as is thumbnail slider, file path. If I click or keyboard command to Loupe view, Normal, Live & Locked modes are available. However, if I close the window and then want to open it up later in my workflow, all of the aforementioned functions disappear. I'm able to bring up the Filter view, and can technically still work off the menu bar (and keyboard shortcuts, if remembered). But only if I restart the program do the full set of functions become visible again. The arrows at top & bottom don't collapse/expand to show anything more than a black border where the display & mode options once were.

I'm working on an edit, which is in video mode. Now I have to include OpenEXR material, which is in linear mode. How can I combine the two and still have the correct color?
I can set it in view mode to linear, but then all my video shows as linear too, plus, as soon as I leave the view mode, it all goes back to video, and my EXR's are too dark then..... what can I do?
