Jan 16, 2006Awhile back for some reason the background to my PS desk top changed from grey to black. When working on dark or black image backgrounds, it's hard to see where the edge is to judge certain tasks.

I was able to change the textile family color of that chair to the Leather - Dark Brown color which is available in the default material library, but I would rather like it to be of a gray color, maybe medium gray or a dark gray. I could not change the color of the seat fabric to gray, at least I do not see a gray leather in the materials fabric/leather library. How to change the color to gray?

Jun 16, 2008I often will edit photos in Adobe RAW on my laptop, and save the RAW files to an external drive. When I pull those photos up on my desktop Photoshop, none of the RAW edits are seen. Shouldn't I be able to see the edits I made on my laptop? What's going on? I have both of my photoshop CS3 programs preferences set the same. Any help with this? Certainly when I edit photos on one computer with photoshop, I should be able to take those files to another computer and continue to edit them.

Nov 21, 2011I'm exporting Tiff Prophoto files from Lightroom into PSPX4 for further processing. The images are 1 to 2 stops under exposed when compared to Lightroom's image.I have selected PSPX4 color profile to match LR export color space.
I have tried exporting the Tiffs as sRGB and adode1998 and still the images are under exposed. I have little knowledge about color management and have searched around the web for possible answers, but no luck.
Paint Shop Pro :: Color Replacer Drops Selected Color For Replacement?
Oct 18, 2012For family history purposes, wish to improve the legibility of some hand written 1930 telegrams; the ink has faded with time so I want to change its colour to black. The form printing has not faded.
The user guide draws attention to the fact that the color selected for replacement must be in the image. Using the Dropper tool with sample size 1 pixel I position the dropper where I want it, see the color in the preview window, then right-click and the selected color appears in the background window on the Materials panel. So far, so good. I then place the Dropper tool over black in the swatch on the Materials panel, click and black appears in the Foreground window of the Materials panel. I think I'm set.
When I select the Color Replacer tool the background window immediately reverts to another color, usually white.Incidentally, the user guide suggests you read up on selecting colors with the Dropper; when you do this you learn that its OK to pick colors from the Materials panel.

Paint.NET :: How To Move Color Picker Out From Tool Box Into Color Selection
Oct 5, 2011I am a new user to paint.net, because the tool I used for complex image manipulation does not run on the OS of my new machine. Although I could easily purchase the newest version, I needed work on some pictures now. Paint.net was easily available and does most of the thins I need at the moment. In addition, it is officially supported at my work place, so it's a good idea to learn how to use it.
Paint.net has some great features and a cute UI, but there are some issues I would like to see improved. The one at the top of my list is the font preview. I am doing some text on a number of pictures and want to check out some fonts. Unfortunately I can't change the sample text in the font list (at least I do not know how).
However, meanwhile I found a even better function (actually the way I would like to see it). When the font list is open, I can scroll through the list and the text will instantly updated. Cool.
Great thing would be to move the color picker out from the tool box into the color selection, so that it would be always available. Also it would be useful to not only pick one pixel sometimes but the average of a greater area.

May 15, 2012I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

May 23, 2011Is there any way with 3.5.8 to name the color inside the palette so the selected color name will display somewhere in the palette (if a name exists)? If not, then as a feature request for version 4; when the user hovers over the color with their mouse cursor, a small pop up will display at the cursor tip with the color name listed in a palette file comment. This feature would allow for quick color selection by name for projects that are color name specific/customer color specific. The current process of referencing a palette text file RGB code list with commented description, then entering the required RGB codes for each color needed can be a bit time consuming for larger projects.

i can duplicate this situation on calibrated NEC MultiSync monitors and uncalibrated laptops. We are running on Mac OS X.8x and above.
Designers are complaining about not being able to pick a color from the Swatch Library in AICS6 or AICC. InDesignCC does not seem to have the same issue.

Jan 6, 2013I have a question regarding illustrator. Let's say I have a circle with blue fill and red stroke. And I place an image in the illustrator file. Now I want to change the red stroke of my circle to let's say a purple color by sampling the color from the image.
How can I achieve that with a eye dropper tool? Every time when I try to sample a color from the image, the whole circle will change to purple instead of just the stroke? I have tried multiple key combination, shift, alt, ctrl but they all don't work.

If I hit "OK" the actual color chosen is the one in the palette, not the preview window... Including some pics for reference.
