Illustrator :: How To Make One Period Of Sine Wave

I started a thread earlier this evening but I think that I accidentally flagged it as "solved" or something like that (I'm new to this forum). So I'm trying this again. I want to know if there's a way of creating a sine wave in illustrator. I've managed to create a cosine wave by using the zig zag effect on a line and choosing "smooth". But I can't seem to find a good way to make a sine wave.
I have some text that I put on a sine-wave path using the PathDeform modifier. Is there some way to make that shape permanent, independent of the sine-wave spline? The DeformPath mod won't collapse on the stack.
In either Autocad 2000 (yes, I know it's dated) or 2012 I need to determine how to cut a groove following a sine wave on the interior wall of a cylinder.
I used to enter decimals with the dot key. On my new environment (new computer, new version of Illustrator), it no longer works. I would like to use the comma key instead. What may be the way to enable it? Some editing on Window's international options?  I'm working on Illustrator CC (64 bit), Windows 7.
Found these lovely patterns - a concentric circle 'zig-zag' design, and a 'bank-card' style wave in an Illustrator template - but how they were made? URL....
The above image shows my problem. All have the same zig zag effect setting, but due to inconsistent anchor point spacing there is inconsistent waviness. Is there a way to make a wavy line that is not a distortion based on anchor point distances? I'd like all my wavy lines to look nice and consistent like this: Â The only reason they're so consistent is the absolute setting has been used but these lines are all straight and have only 2 anchor points, start and finish, hence the wave is consistent. It's harder when the lines are curvy and have a different number and spacing of anchor points.
I've recently purchased Photoshop CS5.1 and I've noticed an issue. After working for a period of time (5-10 minutes), when I try to move an item/layer, or when I want to use the move tool, I have a 1-2 second lag between the time I initiate the action and the actual screen result. One thing I've discovered is that the Timing info grows in time reaching 140s sometimes. The higher this is the more the lag. Â I have no problems with hdd space for scratch disks and I have no installed plugins. One way to fix this issue is to restart PS, but it doesn't seem to be a viable solution. The problem also remains when I have OpenGL checked. I used to work with CS3 and this issue never occured. Â My system: Â OS: XP SP3 CPU: Intel i5-2400 GPU: Gigabyte 550Ti Gtx 1Gb RAM: 4Gb
I should be able to apply an effect to a line that has been made with the line tool. Why is this not working?I thought that maybe I might have disabled Effects somehow, but I can't think of anything.
I need to generate a disc cam with a modified sine profile but there is no motion function of that name in the Disc Cam Component Generator. How to generate a modified sine disc cam?
When I type in Photoshop CS6 Extended the period is going before the word instead of after for example "I went to the .farm" I did not have this problem before, just the last couple of weeks.Â
Specifically the Boris Continuum plugins. I get this error:Â Â Â Seems to happen for really no reason, even if I apply the effect and let the comp sit idle, it hapens after a minute or so. Â Win 7x64, AE CS6 11.04, 16 gb of RAM GPU: GeForce GTX560ti
Making a circular wave on a water texture is just by applying a zigzag/twirl/radial blur filter. How do I make a square wave then? Like dropping a plank of wood or something rectangle on to a pond.
I'm using CS3 on a PC. I'm using the wave filter to distort an image. writing down all the characteristics ie, # of generators, wavelength, amplitude, scale ect. Is there anyway to recreate that EXACT wave pattern on a particular image once I've left the program? It seems to generate another algorithm even if I input the same numbers.
Also, I'm distorting an image at 72dpi as a test. When I replace the image with an exact replica at 300dpi and apply the wave distortion, I'm unable to get even remotely the same results. the wave patterns are much tighter. I've moved around all the characteristics with no result.
I created the following design ( the first image ) but I messed with the "wave" filter settings and got this nasty burst effect on the outer edge of the "wax seal". No matter what I seem to try with the wave settings, I can't get back to the smooth "blob" shape that you see in the black and white outline below. I've tried all the combinations of generators, wavelength min / max and amplitude min/max. from the attached image .
I have a small problem trying a wave to deform my objects properly. I have to make a "repulsion objects" project, i use several duplicate cubes and i apply to them a wave deformer. But i would like that the deformer could move just the entire objects or polygons , not the points because i want the upper face plane and the wave deform the points like i was making a jitter.
I have tested also the displacement direction of the wave with no results. Is there an easy way to make it?
I have painted a banner and now I will create an animated gif, so the banner should be waving (like in reality). I have tried it with Effects -> distort -> twist but I couldn't realize it that it looks real.
I am using CS6 Extended and am taking a class on photoshop. Â I am trying to apply the wave filter to some type, but not sure what all the options in the dialog box are for. I do see that there is something changing in the preview box, but the image is so incredibly tiny I can't really tell what is happening. I don't see any way to increase the size of the preview box.
I just purchased a portable audio recorder, a Zoom H1, to replace the built-in microphones on my JVC video camera. I did this to be able to improve the audio component of my finished videos. I planned on using the audio wave form display that shows up when you activate the Sound Mixer component of VideoStudio. I am recording in .wav file format, as I read previously on this board that VideoStudio works better with wave files than with MP3's. When I put the wave files onto the timeline, and activate the Sound Mixer, It says it is loading the sound data, but does not display the complete wave form info. I have tried recordings made at different qualities, with varying results, as follows:
44 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data 44 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all 48 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data 48 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all
Just for grins, I tried the same audio files in VS X4, same thing. Maybe I'll play with MP3 format files, just to see what happens.
As I mentioned above, I tried recording a file on the Zoom H1 in .mp3 format. The audio properties, as repported by VideoStudio were 44 Khz, 16 bit, 192 Kbps. This file was accepted by VideoStudio with no problems displaying the complete wave form for the complete file. Which it did not do for the .wav files created by the same recorder. I will do a complete test on Sunday, when I will try recording our church service as an .mp3 and videoing the service and see how it works with syncing the two files.
