I am trying to use Pathfinder>Minus front to create transparent rays over text outlines, but am having trouble. how it should appear: URL.. It's nearly exactly how I'd like it to look but i just want it so that when I put the graphic on an image the rays don't show up as white but are instead transparent.
View 2 RepliesI want to create a transparent text on a solid color background, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the background layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): URL... Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the background color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a set of scanned drawings that they wanted marked up via AutoCAD to use for submittals. I made a nice check mark for all the "good" dimensions using a solid green hatch (which plots as green).
I brought the scanned drawings in as xref TIFFs and put my autocad objects over them. Problem is that when I go to PDF them, the check marks are transparent and I really don't want them to be. I've never messed with any transparency settings in our CAD and I've only noticed this issue when printing over top of images.
This is in Carlson 2014 BTW.
Is there a way to overlay a transparent background png image on a solid or mesh that already has a material assigned? i.e. a chrome object with a decal applied. I have tried creating a new material using my png file as the image but have not been able to overlay it on an object where I want to see the material underneath.

Attached is the Untitle.jpg, to make more clearer to you. Blue is the wall and skyblue is the aquarium. I want the back and the front of the aquarium don't have any line in the middle but even I do shade command the fill of the color is still there. Cause if I explode and delete the line in the middle the colors that fill the aquarium are getting rid off See Untitled 2.Jpg to see what I mean. I have this icon and I'd like to use it on a website but with interchangeable colors.So, what I'd like to do is create a png file with solid colors simulating the background.And, where the actual icon colors are, use transparency. That way I can specify any color I want in the background and it will filter through!

I'm tring to create an image using color from transparent to white without any background. I want to use that image in an application where the user select a color and the fadding creates a nice effect with any color (because the image has a color from transparent to white so if the user select blue then image will appear from blue to white and so on). I can't seem able to do that in Photoshop (tried with gif and png). The result gives me a white image whithout any transparancy.

I have the shape. I select it. I seem to be able to make a mask from this (a selection which I can copy and move about). But what I can't figure out how is how to create a new image which is filled except for this masked area which is transparent
I'm working on a project in photoshop for an art class and I'm wondering, does anyone know how to paste an image into an existing one and get it to look like it was psychically cut out of a magazine and pasted on to the image? It would need to have the edges you get when you cut something out. Any suggestions?

What I'm trying to do is give the blue box a transparent stroke that will "cut through" the red boxes and show the background underneath, whatever that may be ...white, another color, or a photo.
I can easily achieve this when I give it a white stroke. It'll look like this:
When I change to a background color other than white or even a photo however, I end up with this problem:
How do I make it so that I have a transparent border (not white) around the blue box? Which effectively cuts a "transparent stroke" (space) between the parts where the blue and red boxes intersect?
I want to create a set of framed windows that are transparent, so that I can place any image below the frame in the stacking order, and the image will show through the windows.
If it worked, the image below would show the trees though the five windows instead of the five white rounded rectangles, but the grey gradiant and the text would remain.
I thought masking could do it, but Masking crops the image to the window, but it also removes the grey gradiant frame, andI can't get masking to work with more than on window, even if I group the five windows.
I've tried several different PS effects trying to get the same effect as here
it's similar to the "vector imaging" but i've seen it with out the colors too with a normal photo that just has the shadows shown in one color...
I'm trying to cut out this image (dragon 1-1) out of the solid (blade type 2). I've tired everything and every program and I can't do it, mostly because it always crashes. I cut need the black parts cut out all the way through the design.

I'm creating text that will be printed on a deep gray to black tshirt.
I created text, added an offset path to it with a gradient, and a deep gray color fill on top, achieving the gradient stroke. However, I'm not exactly sure what color the shirt itself will be, other than deep gray to black. And I didn't want the deep gray/black fill in my text to appear and look awkward on the shirt. Unless that is something I shouldn't be considered about.
To be safe, how would you create transparent text with a gradient stroke? I'm using Illustrator CS5.
I have a guitar pick jpeg that is a black pen line filled with white I am using for a design. I placed the pick image into Ai and now can't figure out how to change it. I just want to select the image, and transform it into just an outline of the pick, all transparent everywhere except the outline shape of the pick. Almost the same as if I had drawn the pick with the pen tool, but I don't want to have to draw it.

This is approx what I want; however the undulation needs to be more round and less peaked.
I am getting a hold on using various meathods to paste a selected object (a person) into another image....
but the issue i have is matching the color tonality (i hope i am using the correct word) of the pasted person matching the image i pasted into!! ...
I have tried, the hue and saturation and curves, dodge and burn, brighness and contrast, and a couple of others on the selected person/object it still looks unnatural ..

View 3 Replies View Related I want to point out I am currently exporting my image by going to File>Export>.PNG>(72PPI+Transparent).The issue im running into is; for example when I am exporting text, I am also exporting a certain amount of area around my image. How can I export the exact outline of my image?
When I wanted to use my text image for a website I was building I noticed I couldn't get the image to center. I opened the image in paint and noticed I was exporting the area around my image as well and not just the image itself.
I would like to export the text outline only. As you can see in paint I am exporting a fixed area around my image.
I've built a 3D cylinder shape in Illlustrator and have applied plastic shading. Looks OK in Illustrator, but when imported into InDesign or opened in Photoshop, it appears to be partially transparent AND what looked to be smooth shading in Illustrator appears as a strange pattern in PS and InD, etc.We're getting close to final and this will be printing as it's a logomark.Is there something I'm missing that would make this shape a solid shape (instead of appearring to be transparent) and reproduce well? I just want it to look in PS and InD (and on paper) the way it looks in Illustrator.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was working in Illustrator CS6 I had made a a bunch of vectors for a background and grouped them. I applied a blur to the group and was still editing the vectors within the group since then. After I saved and closed my file at the end of the day and opened it the next day my vector group is now solid. It seems like it is just a raster image? I can't edit it at all. How can I get it back? If I can't change it back I am going to have to start again!

I've installed 32-bit CS6 and now everything works perfect.No white lines after applying/resizng anything.
I have a logo file, saved as PNG, that is black on transparent. Very simple file, just stylized black lettering on a transparent background. In Illustrator CS5, I can place that file, do a "Live Trace" in "Lettering" mode, and Illustrator will correctly ignore the transparent areas when I expand the trace. After expanding, I'm left with scalable paths and an easy way to change the fill color to have the logo work with my background.
Fast forward to Illustrator CS6. I try to do the same thing but a) there is no "lettering" preset for Image Trace and b) there is no setting I have yet found to cause Illustrator to ignore the transparent areas when I expand. If I then fill, everything inside the bounds of the placed image (the square containing the logo) is filled with that color. The only way I've found to get similar results is to go through the layers panel after the Expand and deselect each piece of the image that should not be filled. I have a hard time believing this is the desired approach.
image looks pixelated after saving with transparent background...
i created a logo in adobe illustrator cc and i wanted to saved it for web in order to be able to copy and paste the logo where ever I wanted but the image looks extremely pixelated after saving as an png, and for web.
URL....I have a green vector background in illustrator and then I placed psd image over it and created PDF for press and under Color bitmap images I selected no compression.After viewing image in Acrobat all seems ok, I even checked with picker, but after I send this to printer (xerox in thsi case) I end up with this: Both .psd and .ai are in CMYK color space. For this particular case I could use mask to cover up that transparent space but my original project has shadows which I cannot mask by vector :S.
how to set color profiles or whatever is neccessary to avoid this issue. One thing I was using was, opening PDF in Photoshop and flatening all. Problem is that sometimes I need vector files and cut lines for cutter. Don't want to have bitmap, if I can have a vector? Also when I flaten image I do get same CMYK values in photoshop (with picker) than I have in Illustrator on vector object, but when I print this they don't match at all.
