Illustrator :: Application CS5 Keeps Crashing In 10.7.5 When Changing The Font
Nov 14, 2012Each time I try to change the fonts the application crashes regardless of whether it's a new/old document. I noticed this happening after I installed Illustrator CS5 by downloading it on my MBP Retina. Never had this problem on my old MBP 10.6.8. Either there's an issue with downloading the application or with 10.7.5.

Apr 1, 2008I've recently installed Photoshop CS version 8.0 on my pc and even though I'm able to design in it as normal, when I come to create a text layer and try changing the font, Photoshop instantly freezes and then crashes, sending an error report saying that the programme is no longer responding. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and I have also followed Adobe's troubleshooting article to include removing all the fonts that Windows does not require and still Photoshop crashes.
I'm using a HP xw4400 workstation with Windows XP version 5.1 and service pack 2. And I have 3.25GB of RAM.
My video card is a NVIDIA FX 1500 and I have no other applications on my computer apart from Scenarist for DVD Authoring.
I have no internet connection and the computer is a relatively new one so is fairly clean and has lots of space on the hard drive.
Illustrator :: Font Styles Not Showing Up
Feb 4, 2013Certain font styles in Illustrator are not showing up, Arial bold italic, for instance. Arial bold and Arial italic work, but I cannot select both. Photoshop and other apps display it without problem. I have re-installed the font, cleared my system font cache (Windows), and even tried putting the fonts into the "fonts" folder. Still no luck.
I'm not sure if this is related but when Times New Roman is selected I get a strange rounded font that is definitely not Times New. only Illustrator is affected.

Jul 22, 2012I'm using one of the new Mac Book pro Retinas. Every time I open the Type>Font menu the program crashes. Sometimes I can scroll down a little ways but sometimes it crashes immediately.

May 27, 2013I'm trying to migrate our styles library from Inventor 2011 to 2013 using the style library manager. I have the current (2013) library loaded in the first slot, and my old 2011 library loaded in the second slot. Under the 2011 library, the Migrate button is active.
I click Migrate, and after telling me it can take up to 2 minutes to migrate the library, it proceeds. After about two minutes, I get a progress box generated by Inventor (not the style library manager) that indicates it is copying some 1300 files from one location, to another. I can't tell if it is the same location or not, as the filepaths are truncated in the progress box.
As it finishes, usually with one file remaining, I get the "Autodesk Inventor 2013 Has stopped working" error. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly etc. etc.
I do not relish having to go back and manually define all my styles.
Context: Product Design Suite Ultimate 2013, Win 7 Pro, 12 GB ram. I've tried both with and without my antivirus realtime scan on.

AutoCAD LT :: Manage Text Styles Under Font Name
Jan 4, 2012I just upgraded from AutoCAD LT 2005 to AutoCAD LT 2012. I commonly used a font that, on the 2005 version, was called a1.shx. It has been replaced, on the 2012 version, with archstyl.shx. When I go to "Manage Text Styles", under the "Font Name" there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it before the font name "archstyl.shx". I am assuming this means that the font is not currently available on my system because it is replaced with the simplex.shx (which I read was the default alternate font under "substitute fonts" in the users guide). There is not a font style on my current system that suffices as a replacement to the font I used on the 2005 version of AutoCAD LT. Is there anyway to import the old font to AutoCAD 2012? Is there a way to put new fonts on my system so that I can find an adequate replacement?

Select all the boxes, type mo for properties, then change the style in the properties window. To make this simpler in the future I put all the text boxes in their own layer so I can use qselect to select them all quickly.
After Effects :: Crashing When Changing Audio Input?
Feb 8, 2013I've been trying to get my Steinberg (Yamaha) ur-28m external USB audio interface/soundcard to work with After Effects CS6 for a week now. The problem is that everytime I change the audio input in the AE preferences to the Steinberg asio drivers AE freezes for a few seconds and then crashes. Same thing happens in Premiere btw.
I've tried everything possible:
- updated Steinberg drivers to newest version
- updated AE to latest version
- trashed preferences
- totally removed and installed master collection again
- formatted hd and Reinstalled windows 7 and installed Master collection again.
- tried all possibles buffer rates
Problem still there... I looked into the events log and it mentions ntdll.dll and makes afterfx.exe crash. Bottom line is I can't work with sound now, which is really frustrating. In other programs (non Adobe) these drivers are rock solid. Apparantly After effects (and in my case premiere also) doesn't like Steinberg. I saw this other thread about Steinberg in After Effects: [URL] Doesn't look like it's been solved.

InDesign :: CS6 Doesn't Import Font Styles From Word Document

I am placing a Word document into InDesign CS6, and no matter what options I choose in the import options, the font styles are not imported into InDesign At the same time, InDesign CS3 imports all the styles perfectly from any Word file.

I have drawn something and can view it in realistic style, but when I render it, the lighting comes into play and everything looks too light. What I would like to know is how could I render my drawing in realistic view so that the rendering reflects what is on my screen in model space? Or realistic sketchy view for that matter?

Photoshop :: Characters Panel Displays Multiple Copies Of Font Styles / CS6
Jul 20, 2012I see numerous redundant copies of every font family style listed when I select a font family STYLE of any typeface, such as Helvetica or Arial, for example.
Throughout the day the list increases copies of each style exponentially by the hour. At the end of the day I am scrolling through 98 copies of Helvetica Bold to get to the next style, like Black. There should only be one Helv. Bold, one Black, one Condensed, and so on.
My fonts are cleaned and organized frequently with any corrupted fonts being removed immediately. I use FontExplorer X, Font Doctor and other type apps to manage fonts because FontBook is still retarded.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Changing Text Styles Between 2011 And 2012?
Jul 30, 2013I would like to preface this post by stating, for the purposes of this message, that I have absolutely no understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have looked at many forum discussions concerning my issue and I am simply unable to understand the terminology and/or concepts being described.
I recently purchased a new computer for my office. Accordingly, I needed to install AutoCAD on this new machine. All of the machines in my office are running AutoCAD 2011. However, after addressing some licensing issues with AutoDesk, I received a license and installer for AutoCAD 2012. Everything was installed correctly (as far as I understand) and the program itself is working fine. The problem I am running into involves the text style for the files I open:
For files saved on AutoCAD 2011, the text style used is Arial. Simple; no custom fonts. However, when I open that same file in AutoCAD 2012, the text style for the entire file has changed to Franklin Gothic Book. (Note that all files are accessible from all computers in the office through a network drive)
That is my only understanding of the situation. As I mentioned earlier I have very little understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have had this problem for almost a week now and I am no closer to understand this issue, much less solving it.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 11 :: Text Styles Change TrueType Font Into T1 Every Time File Opened?
Apr 27, 2011I'm perfectly happy with the TrueType font (BankGothic Md BT), but all the style settings change to the T1 equivalent every time I close, and when I open the file again the T1 text does not show up. I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.

Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

Jul 29, 2013Very difficult to change a font in Photoshop CS6: I select the font then go to the dropdown (either the side panel or the options panel at top; same results) and BEGIN TO scroll down to find the font I want to change to. After a couple seconds, the list pops back up to the top. Usually I cannot scroll past the fonts beginning with M or N before it overrides my scrolling and pops back to the top again, If I can select quickly, I can sometimes nab a different font that starts with a B or C, but hardly ever one I am seeking.

Jun 26, 2012I have been working on a book cover for a client and was asked to modify a capital letter in the chosen font. The letter "S" had a curly q at the top that needed to be removed. I converted the letter to an editable shape and deleted the offending nodes. Along the way I had to break the points and then reconnect. When I broke the points, Xara split the shape into 2 layers for some reason so I could not rejoin the points later. I ended up combining the layers and was able to rejoin the nodes that way.
The problem I had was that when everything was reconnected, I could only color the outline, the shape would not fill. I ended up having to export as a PNG to Photoshop, created an adjustment layer and painted it in. Everything looks great BUT I would have preferred to just reconnect the nodes and fill the letter in Xara.
AutoCad :: CTB File Changing Font In Print
Nov 20, 2013I want to know if it is possible that a ctb file can change the font in my print. I am working in Project Wise and using Interplot I created a ctb file to do color mapping. The color mapping worked fine but it then changed my font from a font_iso to something unknown (in screenshot - hope it attached ).
I just want to rule out the possibility that it is / is not a setting from the ctb file. I am actually working with other drawing programs also on this project (MicroStation) but the problem only started when I used the ctb file and not with the MicroStation plot functions.
