I am not able to get into my Illustrator CS3 account. A blank window shows when I try to get into the program and I can't get past the blank window. For some reason I am locked out.
View 1 RepliesI have a customer that sent me some Illustrator files (.ai) that, when I open them, they open with just a blank window and a box with no fill or stroke around the outside of the document. I am using Illustrator CS4 and I suspect this may be an Illustrator CS6 document but I didn't get any warnings when I opened it so I'm not sure. (I also don't know what version of Illustrator the original creator is using). The document sizes are large (35MB +) so there should be SOME content in them. I've tried making sure nothing is hidden and there are no layers that are turned off. I've also tried opening the files in Acrobat CS4 with no luck.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I'm working on a website layout this morning with parts and pieces all over my artboard. I zoom out to 25% and everything on my artboard disappears. It's still there, just not visible. I did a little tinkering and it turns out the 27% and below has this effect.
I'm using CorelDaw X6 64-bit on Windows 7.
Suddenly today, trying to open CS3 I get blank registration window which it will not go beyond.
The application is there in the background but everything is greyed out. I am not sure I have ever filld inal the registration details, I have just always pressed the 'later' button.
When I click the Photoshop CS6 icon from the dock in OSX I now get an initial blank canvas pop up. It's not even a file. How can I get rid of it ?

I just upgraded to windows 7 and now there is a blank preview window when I try to capture. I have tried capturing in both DV and DVD and no preview. I am capturing via firewire from a VHS. This worked perfectly under windows xp but is not working under 7. It seems that it does capture but I cannot preview in order to find my spot on the tape.

View 1 Replies View Relatedusing PS CS3 on mac 10.8.6 - been fine for years and was OK two days ago. Now when I open it I get a blank window (just the yellow dot upper left) and all else is frozen - can't even quit. Used 'force quit' which works but does NOT say that it is not responding.
Tried rebooting and restarting etc - no change.I know its old but it was fine for my purposes - and I have not changed anything.
I have a problem with the graphics window in Inventor 2012, it happens once a week now, but getting more frequent the graphics window turns white and i cant see anything, i need to re-boot to get it back.

I cannot remedy the CS3 blank-screen problem on my Mac (Safari OS) with the suggested fix, as I don't get an error window saying "Never Register" after disconnecting internet and re-launching CS3.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS3 Extended for quiet a while without problems.Suddenly a blank registration window shows up whenever I need to use the program.Because I am unable to do anything with a blank window I cannot dispose of it and I cannot get past it to complete the startup process so I have to force quit the program.I have registered this version probably more than once so I can't imagine that to be a problem. I always use a partitioned drive with a full copy of the OS and applications installed on it.The same problem exists with that copy of Photoshop as well.
I am using an early Mac Pro with Snow Leopard.
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it from my original disc but the same problem still exists.How do I solve the problem of being "locked out" of the application as I am also locked out of work as well ?
Upgrading to a later version is not an option at this point.
I recently purchased VSP4 and when capturing from Panasonic camera via fire wire, the preview window remains blank but capture is successful. I can preview video on LCD screen of camera but that is all. All the settings seem to be ok. (PAL). However, the options panel is greyed out except for insert to timeline option. Also, the video properties in the options panel are all greyed out. I have a previous version VS3 on another computer which shows the preview window OK on capture. Could this be the integrated video card in my new computer or is there something else going on here?

I've even tried the old open a new file, and import the file that has no render setting information, and that works maybe 10% of the time.

I have noticed many times that when I add the CIRCLE transition between two video clips that when I drag the 'scrubber' along through the two clips and transition, when the scrubber goes past/through the circle transition the preview window goes blank (displays black).
If I change the CIRCLE to any other transition it displays (the transition) correctly but as soon as I put the CIRCLE back it once again only shows BLACK.
If I PLAY the project the CIRCLE transition displays correctly - it is only when dragging the scrubber that the problem exists.
Is there a known problem with the CIRCLE transition?
Inventor 2013 and DWG trueview and Inventor View 2013 (or 2014) on a windows 7 computer.
Trying to launch files from an Intranet site. The files always want to come up in a browser window.
In windows XP, I was able to go into File Types and override this by specifying the program (sometimes).
In Windows 7 the File Types have been redone.
I want these files to launch in their respective programs ( .dwg files in trueview, .idw files in Inventor View).
Things I've tried:
Resetting internet explorer settings.
Disabling all addons
Changing security settings to low
how do i open or drag multiple images onto the same window or blank background in elements 11? was easy in 2.0 as all images were available on same page. where is this option in 11?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am making a collage for a friend. I have all the pictures I want that I edited from photoshop and brought into illustator. I made an outline of a buffalo (he is from buffalo) using the pen tool. I filled it in with pictures but i need to know how to trim away the remainders of the pictures that go past the buffalo outline. Basically i need to delete everything that is outside the vector buffalo, but i am having a terrible time figuring this out. Im not sure if i need the trim away tool, draw inside or something else.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access illustrator, photoshop etc. the file opens and then the Registration box opens (I think that is what it is) on top but is blank. The box title is Adobe Design Suite Standard CS3, only the minimize button is live. I cannot edit or work on the art work as nothing in the menu is live and selection tools don't work correctly. When I first open files they appear blank but the artwork appears if I increase or decrease the image size so they are there! - but I can't work on them. I always clicked 'later' on the register box before but can't do that now and it is blocking everything. I am running mac OSX 10.5.8 - I saw some info on a forum about finding the file for registration and ticking 'never' so it should never open but it was all for windows and I could not follow it on mac or find any equivalent file.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Illustrator for a few year now, but I've never had this problem before. Recently, I went to open up some files I had been working on. The problem was, when they opened, the files were blank. There was nothing on them.
When I open pdf and eps files, they're fine, it's just ai files that open up blank.
I ran a quick test where I created a new file and saved both as an ai and eps file. I closed it and quit Illustrator. I then re strated the program and opened the test file, and lo and behold, the ai file opened up blank, but the eps file was fine.

I've got a million years experience with PS, PSP, various CAD programs. This is actually more of a drafting project but that shouldn't matter. I've got separate layers for certain guides and lines and text and that's about it. So I need to send something out for review.
Export or Save As as [ANYTHING], pdf, png, jpg, 'web,' even tried swf, creates a correct -size- image, but the only -content- is the one -last- -layer- that I created which happened to be text.
So just for fun I deleted that last layer and now it exports a blank image of the correct size.
I tried specifically Selecing the items I want exported, result = same blank image.
I don't see any 'flatten' type function as in PS that might crunch everything down to one layer.
I've aparently got something either enabled or disabled that tells it to 'draw nothing.'
I don't see any facility here to include an ai file with this Q. I could put it up somewhere else but I rather doubt they'll allow a '*.ai' so would have to go through the renaming stuff both upload and download. And if they have an 'file inspector' of any kind it'll be disallowed anyway.
For some reason, when I export to jpg all I end up with is a blank page. On my desktop, I can see the little picture on the icon, but when I click on it, only a blank white page comes up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI edited a couple images in Photoshop for postcards to be printed, I converted them to CMYK and then saved as PDFs. I then tried to open them in Illustrator to finish up the project, but when I tried to place the images a box pops up that says "unknown error has occured" and when I try and open the images, all you can see is a blank artboard.

I'm on a iMac running 10.7.5 and all 3 of my Adobe products (Illustrator CS5.1, Photoshop CS5.1 and Flash CS5.5) have the same issue, the file info window is blank. It dosen't freeze up my machine but I have to force quit the program. I trashed the prefs file for photoshop and still no luck. The extension are whatever came with the install. It's the only menu item this happens with.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering why some fonts arent visible in my character viewer. I am using Illustrator Version15.0.2 on a MacBook Pro running 10.9.1. I have included 2 screen shots below for a visual reference.
Additionally, I'd like to understand how the fonts in the character viewer menu are organized. I know they are alphabetical, but what are the grey divider lines representing?
Can I deactivate non-english language fonts so that this menu is less conjested with fonts I never use? I've used Illustrator for years. Which fonts are actually non-english. As a side note, I use Font Explorer X Pro to manage my fonts.
I don't remember Illustrator CS5.5 doing this, but perhaps I am wrong. Why does Illustrator leave blank layers after grouping objects?

which is actually a description that typically appears in AI files saved without PDF compatibility. It's not document-wise but rather application-wise issue because it happens even if I create a new Document, draw something in the middle of the canvas and save it. Also, all of my existing documents which used to save well before, do that now. Basically, I cannot save correctly a single PDF. But it seems that the exported documents must contain the data because they have different sizes based on the content.
There's no problem with saving in AI format.
I'm trying to create a line graph in Illustrator CS5, with a data set that contains some numbers, but then has gaps before a final number at the end. The graph needs to show a general trend between the gaps.
Is there a way of forcing Illustrator to draw a line between those figures, as it's just leaving a gap in the graph at the moment.
How to take the Castellar MT font and fill in the blank spaces in the letters with colour? I need to use this font because that's my company's font for their name and I'm trying to design a sign. I have used the blob brush, but I keep getting tiny little specks that look like they're not filled in.

After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems.
Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand.
##.####.##
%##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?
