GIMP :: How To Cross-hatch Two Images
Mar 10, 2011Image knitting. We'll put it that way. I'm still sort of a beginner, but this must be an intermediate thing to do, regardless.
For example, if you had a black layer, and a white layer, how would you create an image that looked like this?
Preferrably without doing it the painstaking way of copy/pasting?

Trying to use the Compute Materials using material lists and the corresponding shape style to hatch between each surface something is going wrong. With all the display settings (Plan,Section,Profile,etc) set to by layer and on a created layer(not on 0). The shape area fill is set to solid. It will not display the hatch.

Mar 28, 2012I am trying to write a script that will automatically hatch several drawings. The drawings contain an area in which there are several objects that need to be hatched. For each drawing the objects vary in location within the one area.I figured I would set up my script to encompass the area with the object select hatch technique. This works fine if the objects in the area have no Islands. However when an object within the "object select hatch area" contains Islands it shades the whole object ignoring the Island or if it does recognize an island it will create an individual hatch for it.Â
However when I use the pick internal point method the hatch comes out as expected for the object with the Islands in it.

Apr 6, 2011I am trying to annotate a floor plan to show the location/orientation of section, elevation and detail drawings. The labels must also indicate the appropriate drawing cross reference. (basically a circle with a arrow, text inside circle showing drawing cross reference). My question is - is there an automated way/library to insert such labels or do I have to create each of them from individual elements and make a block?

If I draw a sqaure using the rectangle tool, it shows a cross in the centre, and if I draw one using the pen tool, there is no cross. Is the cross there to merely show the centre or does it have a different purpose in showing it's a different property? Also, if you want to recreate this, make sure you are in Outline View (⌘/ctrl + Y) .

Jul 11, 2012I have an computer that suddenly can only open an .PDF file in Acrobat, and not in Illustrator. We have art files that are in PDF format, and Purchase Orders that are in PDF format. We would just drag the icon over the software we wished to open the file. In this case Illustrator for the art file and Acrobat for the P.O. As of today, PDF's only open with Acrobat and that's it. I know it's probably a setting I'm forgetting.

The point variables pt1, pt2....pt8 are all defined. But when I run the code the hatch is not being created? Why?

Aug 24, 2011I have a hatch (ANSI31) enclosed by a closed polyline. Whenever I change the hatch from ANSI31 to GRAVEL some of the hatch shows up outside the boundary. The Polyline consists of both arcs and line segments, and the hatching errors are occurring within the radius of the arc segments. Changing it from Associative to Non Associative makes no change.
I am using AutoCAD 2011.

Also, I'm trying to delete certain HatchLoop that is associated to a polyline but I don't know how to do it. I'm going through the loops in the hatch but I don't know what to do there. I wanna do this so I create a new and different hatch on top.
I think one could also copy all the loops except the one one wants to delete, but I'm not sure how to tell which one is the one I want to delete that is the one associated to a polyline or that is in certain region.

Is there a command that you can pick a hatch pattern already shown on the drawing and make that pattern the existing one to use? I sometimes have multiple hatch patterns and scales, and wanted a quick way to go from one to another without lisp help.

Here I added an image of a simple greyscale image with below the hatching that I'm trying to make. In short: I want to use only 45 deg. hatches in this direction. However, based on the grey value, I'd like the hatches to have different weights.

However, since this image is quite simple, only four different weights were needed. However, I'd like to know if there is an easy way to do this for complex images. For this image I just used pattern fills with different stroke weights, but I'd like a smoother and easier solution, preferably one where it would be possible to have many different weights without having to split up the image in thirty different parts and making thirty different pattern fills.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I might be overlooking something. If it would be possible with a plugin, I'd like to know too. Even if there might be a workaround via Photoshop, and the end-result would not be a perfect vector, It'd be fine.

I need to make a 'zipper' and even the most simple line with cross perpendicular lines at regular spaces would do the trick for me. It's rather tedious to try to make these on a random direction path, but I need to know, is it possible to make a stroke that does this?

Sep 30, 2013I am trying to make a hatch pattern in Illustrator CS6 with the pattern tool so I can apply a clean, single lined hatch to various shapes (some small some big - but the hatch needs to remain at the same seamless scale). I understand that there is a Basic Graphics_Lines Pattern under the Swatches Palette, but I don't understand how to edit it with the Pattern Options dialogue box.

I must be missing something, because I wouldn't think making a single line at 45° repeat at the same spacing for a shape fill would be that difficult. I shouldn't have to make a line with the pan tool at a stroke of 1000 with a 0.1-3 dash and make a clipping mask should I?
Basically I don't know how to make a pattern's lines match up when I do the 5x5 or 3x3. I tried doing 1x1 and the result is that of the image with the red stroke...still not aligning. Do I need to get mathematical with the size of the line I'm drawing and its stroke to allow H and V Spacing to work?

Apr 15, 2013I purchased and downloaded BPT-Pro 4-to use with CS6's Illustrator. This version of BPT-Pro has not been released to general public-you cna only get it now if you email and ask. I now have a file FULL of emails back and forth with it's creator, trying to get it to even open in Illustrator 6. I'm working in Windows 7. They keep asking for screen shots to prove that I have the correct version of their plug-in installed. When I run a scan to find a way to open the AIP file-the scan shows that I need Illustrator 5 to open the file. Not 6. But they won't listen and say they don't understand. I think they have a problem with their software but won't admit it. People that I know who are running a Mac say they had problems too and finally got it to work.
