I cannot edit the brush size. I've tried going in and editing it...to no avail. No matter what it says, the size remains the same...big. I tried resetting everything. No luck. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling about four times now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to set up parametric brushes that work correctly with a keyboard shortcut. At first when I assigned the keyboard shortcut to increase or decrease the parametric brush radius, as explained here Setting up GIMP for Artistic work, nothing happened when I pressed my new shortcut. Finally I, for reasons beyond me pressed the "reset size to brushes native size" button and it worked....sorta. It seems to work only within a limited range.
For instance. I reduce the radius all the way down to 1 then "magic size reset button" which sets size to 3, then I get a small brush. However when I increase size past 2 for the radius it doesn't increase further(the actual brush on the screen, the numbers change but that's it) until I press the size reset button. It's really frustrating because I can increase the radius using the keyboard from 2 to 9000 but I'm only getting a 2 pixel increase on the screen, unless I do the size reset then it jumps. I'm using Gimp 2.8.4 on windows 8 also set up to use a wacom tablet.
I am trying to locate the brush folder on my computer. I am unable to locate any type of folders for gimp. I download gimp straight from the website.
I am trying to make s water mark and use it as a brush that is the reasoning locating the brush folder.
I am unable to change the settings for any brush because they are all grayed out. It's like this for my custom brushes, too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't change the Gimp brush color at all, here's a picture below of what I'm trying to do:
[URL]........
I'm trying to change it to an auburnish color but the brush just stays black when I paint on the canvas. As you can see I did change the color though.
why are we not able to edit layers outside the canvas?
I often create images were the canvas size is fixed (e.g. display resolution). I then add layers to it that are often larger than the canvas. I would now want to select the superfluous parts of the just added images (e.g. to make them transparent), but I can't select parts of the layers that are not on canvas!
I also can not see any layer content that is off-canvas. A workflow I'd prefer would be copy everything somewhere (not necessarily inside the canvas) and then align it layer by layer, which is hard when one can not see the content of the off-canvas layers.
I use 2.8.2. I have some words on a picture, in a text layer. I didn't make anything with the text, it is pure text. I want to edit it. I open the layer and click on the text. As soon as I click, I get a new text field, and if I write something, a new text-layer opens. The old one is untouchable. What can I do?
Here is a screenshot:

Okay, I've got a weird problem involving paths. Sometimes, I'll be unable to edit or select the lines of a path. I can work with the nodes and handles just fine, but it's like the lines don't even exist. This usually seems to happen when I save a file, close it out, and then open it again, or when I use the clipboard to copy and paste a path.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I move my mouse over the drawing area, the brush simply freezes at the corner next to the rulers, the regular cursor continues to move and I can click on the buttons, tools and menu, but my mouse is not functioning in the workspace, I can use my wacom tablet fine, but I still need my mouse to be functional for lassoo tools etc.
It is a very recent install, I may have some how buggered the mouse input when configuring my wacom.
I'm running Arch Linux, with KDE.
I need to do some shading work in Gimp, and for this it would be very nice to have a quick way to change my brush size. Luckily there's a note in the gimp docs on how to program the mouse wheel to do this:
[URL] .....
My laptop only has a touchpad with a little scroll area on the side, but I can't think of a good reason why this should be any different from a scroll wheel on a real mouse. Unfortunately, though, following the documentation doesn't work.
In fact, as far as I can tell, the input controllers dialog does nothing at all on my system--I've looked at the settings for the all of the 'active controllers,' and none of the current settings there match with the actual behavior of Gimp as far as I can tell. It also worries me that the controller names are so generic--they're listed as 'Main Keyboard' and 'Main Mouse Wheel' rather than mentioning a synaptics touchpad, and my tablet doesn't even seem to be listed.
I am using Gimp 2.6.11 on Ubuntu.
In AutoCAD Map 2012 on Windows 7 64 bit, feature editing becomes VERY slow for more than 60 features selected. It becomes even more slow if i use properties dialog for edit feature properties. In SDF if I use constrain values, there is no copy paste option in Data Table so i must do it through properties pane. My projects consists of 20.000 or more features, so how to do it?

Its a pretty basic sheet metal part just need to add few flanges, change hole/slot size. Its for a college project so I have to do it rather than just redraw the thing. I would also prefer to use inventor than solidworks (if I still have it on my laptop...).

I went from Lightroom 4 to 5 yesterday. No problems, it went smoothly. I uploaded new photos, edited some. Then I used the new clone and heal. Fine. Love it. Tried another image. My fingers were on trackpad and I must have inadvertently changed the way my edit options show. No longer have the main top features after crop tool, clone, heal, etc. Histogram displays. Clone, heal, etc, display. Then it goes straight to tone curve and features below that. How do I get the edit features and sliders back on my Lightroom window?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep finding it impossible to edit existing features from models/assy. Even if I change only 1 dim in the sketch. Once I close the sketch. The feature fails. I then try to edit the feature and I will see that the feature direction has changed, but invenotr will not allow me to switch it back. Basicallly there is no editting power at all.
So you only way I have found to complete the job is to delete the feature and then put it back in.
Is this part of the new way of inventor 2013 or is this another time wasting glitch?
Also now when I edit a sketch I must delete all of the dims, then edit and then put all dims back.
Is this also part of the new way or the direction autodesk products are heading?
I have a Mac running OS 10.7. I have Photoshop Elements 10.
When I select the Guided Edit tab, there are no options available. The only tools are zoom, hand, and set foreground color. Everything else is gone. The open file is centered in the blank page, and most of the menu items are unavailable, with the exception of filters.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the program and rebooted. I have also deleted the two database files, as suggested in another post, and they were rebuilt.
I have read enough of the help file to know that there are supposed to be guided edit options available, such as actions, enhance colors, etc. The menu bar has very few options available from the guided edit window. In fact, the only way to get back to the full edit window is to shut down and restart the program.
you can see what i mean in the following picture examples.

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
Commands Work features is not active in edit base solid.
How to make plane? How to make active ?
I trying to use the content center feature in a part on Inventor 2013 but it doesn't work.
It does work on Inventor 2012.
If certain modelling / sketch features should be avoided under the machining feature group.
I have an assembly file containing three part files, plus a weldment feature and machining features. In the real world this sub-assembly represents two metal components welded together, of which the third (plastic) component is then inserted, and this is followed by the final machining process - adding the staggered slot (see jpeg 1).
My problem is I get an error message as soon as I try to activate editing the weldment feature group (see jpeg 2). Clicking ‘Accept’ I can then edit the current weld, but I can not add any new welds. Inventor will let me choose to place a new fillet or groove weld, and even show a preview (see jpeg 3). But on clicking ‘Ok’ or ‘Apply’ I get another error message from which it won’t let me proceed (see jpeg 4 (in my second post)).
The error messages relate to the constraints placed on the work planes used to achieve the model features (extrusions, revolutions, chamfers, etc) under the machining features group.
A couple of points; the weld(s) have to proceed the machining features so each manufacturing stage can be clearly illustrated on the drawing of the sub-assembly. And yes in this case I could remodel the assembly, but it is time consuming and regularly our customers will want the design tweaked, so having to remodel every time would be unacceptable. Thirdly, I believe the work planes are needed to constrain the sketches (see jpeg 5 (in my second post) - the work plane is constrained to the ‘red highlighted dot’ and tangent to the cylindrical face).
I was trying to play around with the software to get to know it, and... well, I think I made something weird in it. Everything was flowing nicely when I was following the tutorial about Editing Objects: I created a box, I selected that edit poly option from the modify tab and I could edit vertices totally nicely.
But then, I really don't know what happened, but, I don't know exactly when, I suddenly could not move the vertices AT ALL. They are pretty visible, but when I select them, they turn red and the axis are not editable! I'm so confused! I can edit the axis very normally if I'm using an option like Select and Move but... With the edit poly thing I just cannot! I tried everything I thought of: Made a new box, restarted the program, restarted the PC! But NOTHING worked.
EDIT: It took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn’t selecting the Select and Move tool!
I'm using a tablet with gimp and I want to be able to set the brush size for the paint brush and also for the eraser, separately. What happens now is that I'll set the paintbrush size to 10px, paint for a little while, turn the pen over to erase and the eraser will now be at 10px. So I'll adjust the eraser size to something like 50px, erase, turn over, and now the paintbrush is at 50px. Grrrrrrr... I tried creating new brushes for both the paintbrush and the eraser, but there's no brush size option. This is my first time using gimp so I'm probably missing something.

my "Edit in Photoshop" option no longer works for RAW images. Photoshop pops up, but the image doesn't, no prompt or anything, just an empty workspace. The process still works for .psds or jpegs (I can "edit in PS" from LR)
I mistakenly downloaded the latest version of LR 3.6 without reading the fine print (stupid, right?) - apparently Camera Raw 6.6 is not compatible with earlier versions of PS than CS5, but LR 3.6 needs CR 6.6. I guess I made the mistake of assuming that CS4 wasn't so old that Adobe would come out with a Camera Raw update that wasn't compatible with it. So I've got to assume this is my problem and I'm just a bit irritated. Is my CS4 seriously that outdated?
Would you recommend that I revert to an earlier version of LR and CR and stick with my CS4, or just bite the bullet and get the updated CS5 (I really didn't want to spend the cash at the moment). Or am I wrong about the Camera Raw 6.6 issue and is there another reason I can't move my images into PS?
I have made my first object with the shapes tools, LS, and with the use of the Path Selection tools and then Grouped everything via the Layers panel.
Next I am suppose to add a New Layer and draw a Rectangle Shape and place the Shape Layer below the group and above a Layer w/a Radial Gradient . then I am suppose to use the Paint Brush on the Shape to Airbrush a light (light as in light from a light bulb not as in a shade) effect but when I go to select the Brush tool I am told I must Rasterize the Layer beforehand.
However, when I do Rasterize the Layer the Shape becomes filled with a color which leaves me unable to achieve the desired effect. I draw the shape with the Color Fill set to None.
I checked the "User Manual" but I have been unable to find an answer as to what I can do. I have tried using the Path tool to create a Selection before trying to use the Brush tool but that also tells me to Rasterize beforehand.
