resize. The banner was made a little too wide and I'm trying to void
recreating it entirely.

3ds Max :: Unable To Edit Vertices In Edit Poly Mode
Apr 2, 2012I was trying to play around with the software to get to know it, and... well, I think I made something weird in it. Everything was flowing nicely when I was following the tutorial about Editing Objects: I created a box, I selected that edit poly option from the modify tab and I could edit vertices totally nicely.
But then, I really don't know what happened, but, I don't know exactly when, I suddenly could not move the vertices AT ALL. They are pretty visible, but when I select them, they turn red and the axis are not editable! I'm so confused! I can edit the axis very normally if I'm using an option like Select and Move but... With the edit poly thing I just cannot! I tried everything I thought of: Made a new box, restarted the program, restarted the PC! But NOTHING worked.
EDIT: It took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn’t selecting the Select and Move tool!

Apr 17, 2008editing the text in a web page template that I downloaded from a free template web site. The page is .psd file, I opened it in photoshop ver 6, went on to those layers which are having text. the layers clearly denotes T , I double clicked on T but as per tutorial I read on a web site, the text is not highlighted or selected, instead the blinking cursor comes over that text and when i try to write something it overwrite the new text over the previous one and previous text is as it is as its before.
I also tried to edit the text by going on vertical tool bar, clicking the T button, and then double clicking on the required text but it also doesnt work. After going through couple of tutorial websites and reading it, I came to know that text layer might be rasterized, I checked in the main menu, the layer is not rasterized and clearly show the letter T.

Aug 4, 2004I'm having an issue with editing layers copied from one file to another in Photoshop CS. It seems to be essentially locking the layers and I can't figure out how to unlock them. I've tried duplicating them, renaming them, and resetting my tool preferences (I'm desparate and frustrated). They are in the same mode. This also tends to be an issue with opening a .jpg or .gif file and trying to edit it.
it seems the issue was my computer had the user permissions set for read/write only. Once I changed it so that all users had all permissions I was able to edit it.
Photoshop :: Unable To Edit The Background Layer
Oct 4, 2008I've opened a photograph in CS3 (whereas the photograph is the background layer), and subsequently tried to use any of the tools (clone, eraser, etc) for editing with no success. Everything appears to be working properly with the tool bars, but when you click on the image to use it, nothing happens.
I thought maybe it was an issue with the layer being locked, but I've tried copying/pasting the image as a new layer in a new file (layer is unlocked at that point), but it still doesn't work.

How to close this feature and in the gray rectangle box under those words, it is asking me what I would like to create. Dec 17, 2012The issue comes at random; upon starting PS CS6 (32-bit or 64-bit) it won't be able to open ANY files, of ANY file type (.psd, .jpg, .png, etc.)If by some miracle it DOES open a file, it won't be able to edit it; i.e. upon drawing a line with the brush tool, PS will delete the line when you lift off the mouse.
Things I've tried or tested include making sure the file wasn't read only, making sure it was a valid file, and deleting the preferences.I never have this problem on the school computers (all our school computers are late-model iMacs), but I've had this problem on two seperate Windows 7 64-Bit PCs.
The only way to fix it is to do a complete system reboot; even now though I've done three reboots & it still won't work anymore. My system specs for my desktop are:
Intel Core i7 960 (3.2GHz, 8MB Cache)
nVidia GeForce GTX 680
12GB Triple Channel 1333MHz DDR3
Windows 7 64-Bit Basic
Photoshop :: Unable To Edit Images Drawn By Shape Tool
Aug 5, 2012For some reason after drawing shapes with the shape tool, whether it is one line or a custom shape, I just can't edit it after drawing it. I can't edit it at all and it doesn't appear on any layer. I can delete every single layer and the shape will still be there.
They are not paths, but just to double check I did look under paths but it is empty. It doesn't matter what else I've done, or whether it is a new blank page I can't do anything with any shape once I've drawn it.
I can't get it to select it when I click show transform controls, I can't select it with the marquee tool and delete it (because it isn't on any layer) and I can't place anything over it to cover it.
I have to keep saving before drawing any shape and close and reopen the file if the shape doesn't go quite as I wanted first time. Obviously if I want anything over the shape in any way I can't do it.

I have my email sharing preferences in PSE 11 set to use Adobe Email Service. I successfully verified my email and I am able to send photos using this service; however, I am not able to edit the message that accompanies the photos. I can type in the address line and subject line of the email dialog box. But, I am not able to type in the body of the message. I would like to be able to write a personalized message. I believe that I was able to type a message in previous versions of PSE.
Type a custom message when using Adobe Email Service? If yes, how can I enable that feature?
Lightroom :: Unable To Edit In CS4 From 3.6?
Feb 1, 2012my "Edit in Photoshop" option no longer works for RAW images. Photoshop pops up, but the image doesn't, no prompt or anything, just an empty workspace. The process still works for .psds or jpegs (I can "edit in PS" from LR)
I mistakenly downloaded the latest version of LR 3.6 without reading the fine print (stupid, right?) - apparently Camera Raw 6.6 is not compatible with earlier versions of PS than CS5, but LR 3.6 needs CR 6.6. I guess I made the mistake of assuming that CS4 wasn't so old that Adobe would come out with a Camera Raw update that wasn't compatible with it. So I've got to assume this is my problem and I'm just a bit irritated. Is my CS4 seriously that outdated?
Would you recommend that I revert to an earlier version of LR and CR and stick with my CS4, or just bite the bullet and get the updated CS5 (I really didn't want to spend the cash at the moment). Or am I wrong about the Camera Raw 6.6 issue and is there another reason I can't move my images into PS?

Nov 12, 2013My titleblock seems to be corrupted and I can't edit it. I need to edit some text on it (highlighted), so when I am on the sheet view in the project I select the titleblock and click 'edit family.'
When I load it into the project I get this error. I would happily create a new titleblock, but I this is used in many places, so I need to edit this one. I tried to upload my Revit Error Report, but this forum is saying it is not a valid extension.

Dec 2, 2013I've come across an issue using X6 I haven't seen before. After working on a multi-layer pspimage file, saving it and reloading I can no longer edit one of the raster layers. When the layer is selected with the pick tool it shows the circle with line when mousing over. It was not merged or locked so not sure what's causing this and never came across this with any of the previous PSP versions I've used.
PSP X6 16.1.0.48
UPDATE: Tried making sure it was the top layer and still could not edit the layer. I then made all the other layers invisible and at that point it would allow editing the image. Is there some hidden feature in X6 I'm missing or is this a quirk?

Oct 16, 2011I have VideoStudio XS4 Pro and it freezes when I try to edit a MPG4 video. The source video is from the Flip video player. I have been able to edit these without any problems before. This time when I put the video in the edit window I can start to play it, but then the UI stops working. It beeps when I try to press any button.
I'm using Windows 7. (see my machine profile) I have applied latest updates.
Project properties:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)

At this point the software is unusable.

Jul 25, 2011have been looking at various posts regarding audio skipping but am clueless as to how to repair or use this program successfully. I am able to import a simple mp2 file off a DVD (VOB), scan into scenes and usually play it in the timeline without skipping. I can play an mpg clip/scene, at least once, without skipping. Any kind of editing of any file results in skipping. Whether I save as a project or not, it skips. If I export, it skips. With or without Smart Proxy, it skips. With or without SP2 (after a clean reinstall) it skips. I have been editing for at least 7 years with various programs, but this is truly a first. I am really hesitant to upgrade to X4 as a fix, fully expecting it will be more of the same.
I want to clarify something. I listened very closely with a friend and concluded it is not exactly skipping. It is truncated repeating of a word in close succession, so you will hear a word immediately followed by the same word repeated but partly cut off.
GIMP :: Unable To Edit Layers Outside The Canvas
Jun 9, 2013why are we not able to edit layers outside the canvas?
I often create images were the canvas size is fixed (e.g. display resolution). I then add layers to it that are often larger than the canvas. I would now want to select the superfluous parts of the just added images (e.g. to make them transparent), but I can't select parts of the layers that are not on canvas!
I also can not see any layer content that is off-canvas. A workflow I'd prefer would be copy everything somewhere (not necessarily inside the canvas) and then align it layer by layer, which is hard when one can not see the content of the off-canvas layers.
GIMP :: Unable To Edit Default Text
Sep 5, 2012I use 2.8.2. I have some words on a picture, in a text layer. I didn't make anything with the text, it is pure text. I want to edit it. I open the layer and click on the text. As soon as I click, I get a new text field, and if I write something, a new text-layer opens. The old one is untouchable. What can I do?

Jun 29, 2011A customer sent me an RGB bitmap with a transparent background. I converted it to a grayscale and I erase it in PhotoPaint but can't paint over it. This isn't the original bitmap, I converted it and assumed that would get rid of any clip masks or other attributes.

Jul 4, 2012I am using 2013LT. It crushed yesterday. Today when I opened my drgs. I can not edit text, delete anything. I also have noticed that menu under right click does not have the same options as before ie. block edit is not there and so on. I have opened differend dwg ones that I wasn't working on when it crushed and the same thing happed.
I opened my drawings with 2012LT and everything works fine.
