May 24, 2012I am having troubles with printing my work in Photoshop. The problems is that the printing window is to large for my 10" screen, which means that I cannot see the whole window and the printing button. How can I make it smaller, so I can print?

Apr 5, 2012I have just installed my newly purchased PSC5 extended software. When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.

More details...In my previous version of PSP, when working on a photo, the tab at the top for the photo had the following options: Minimize ( _ ), Maximize ( [ ] ) and Close ( X ), similar to the options found in the upper right corner of most windows.
However, in X5, the picture window/photo tab only has the Close ( X ) option and no Minimize ( _ ) or Maximize ( X ) option.What am I missing or am I just daft?
I found being able to minimize multiple photos in the same window useful when pasting/cloming one image over another.Or, if I have multiple, yet very similar images, determining which is best without having to tab back and forth.

Jul 1, 2013Photoshop cs5.1. I don't like double click title bar to minimize the window. I don't use it, I don't need it. Isn't there a way to disable it!?
I'm unsing Snow Leopard, but I do have "double-click a windows title bar to minimize" disabled in system preferences > appearance. So photoshop overrides those settings? Maybe I'm missing something?

Illustrator :: Resize / Minimize Window When Opening File And Causing Error
Mar 5, 2014When I double-click an AI-file to open it, Illustrator resize/minimize it's own window. Sometime so much that Illustrator itself reply with the error: "Can't open the Illustration. There is not enough room for the window; Increase document area and try again."
If I open a file (browse for it) from within Illustrator it works fine and Illustrator keeps whatever windows-size I have chosen.

Because of this I'm unable to close or edit the work. In fact NOTHING works. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with a TON of memory.

Mar 11, 2013As a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.

GIMP :: Best Way To Make Desktop Backgrounds
Sep 18, 2012what is the best method to take 2-3 pictures from the internet and combine them together to make an image 1920x 1080 wide for desktop backgrounds? These are the steps I am following below and what I am having problems with.
1. I go to "canvas size" and make it 1920x 1080.
2. I then move in an image. I right click on it and click "Scale Image" so I can resize it to 1080 height and 960 widthso I have room to add one more picture. The problem is when I click on the image in the dialog box it has the original pixel dimensions of the background 1920x1080 even though obviously it is a lot less then that. Look at the attached picture. I already chose the desktop to be those dimensions but when I right click on the picture it still gives the desktop dimensions even though when you look at the ruler it is a lot smaller.

Why does Gimp's resizing a pix always eventually fail intermittently in Fedora-14..?
I resize all my pix edits to 11-inches, to fit the screen properly.. After Gimp has resized about seven pix, on the next one, I delete the numbers after the decimal after the "11", and hit OK, but the numbers I deleted after the decimal all come back..
I must return to "Printsize", delete the whole height number, and key-in "11" for it to save the number of my choice..

GIMP :: Color Change In The Window?
Apr 10, 2012I have been having problems with images that I save appearing to be more saturated and have more contrast than the edit looks in the GIMP window. I tried playing around to figure out what it might be and found that when I open an image in GIMP, the image displayed in the program is less saturated and less contrasty than the original image without any changes made. When I save the unedited image, the new image looks like the old image, both more saturated and contrasty than the image displayed in the GIMP window. Because of the color change in the GIMP window, all of my edits are pointless because it is not showing me the correct outcome. My images are originally JPG format and I save/export in JPG format. Attached is a screencap. The original image/what the unedited saved image looks like is in the preview window on the right. The image on the left is the unedited image opened in the GIMP window.

Mar 22, 2013When I try to rotate an image with only one layer, the image rotates but the "window" which contains it does not! I end up with the image rotated 90 degrees, but it's cropped because the window it's in, did not move. That window sticks out with a checkerboard pattern. I've looked in the GIMP manual and gone to YouTube for an explanation on how to use the rotate tool but I couldn't understand the tutorials. how to use the rotate tool successfully? I'm a severe dyslexic with low vision so usually, standard tutorials don't work for me.

Aug 21, 2012Is there a way to select all the layers in the Layers Window? is: I've got a GIF animation that's comprised of 590 individual layers, and to work on specific layers, It'd be convenient to be able to hide all the layers other than the layer I'm working on - maybe with a dialog under Layers>>Stack>>Select all Layers>>Hide, or an "eye" checkbox at the top or bottom of the Layers window that would select all layers, thereby allowing me to "unhide" the selected layer by checking the "eye" ,(show), checkbox of the relevant layer.
Currently, the only way I know of to work on a specific layer within such a stack is to move the layer to the top of the stack so it becomes the visible layer, perform the work, then return the layer to its original location.

Dec 7, 2012I have somehow detached the tool details window from the dialog window. You know, the one that normally is part of the tools window at the bottom when you click a tool like a brush showing opacity, size, type, etc.
I got it somehow where I have to double-click the tool to make it appear, and it appears in a separate window. I tried dragging it back into the tools dock but it only places the window on top of it. How in the world do I get it back as part of the tools dock? (vers. 2.8)
