I get no error messages, no console messages. Just fails within a split second of trying to run.
What is gimp-console-x.x.exe?
I tried running both with verbose and this is the output:. note gimp returns instantly, having died? gimp-console blocks, after mentioning it would load script-fu. Does this imply it crashed there?
Catalog fails to load in Photoshop Elements 5.0 on windows 7 operating system. After installation, the "edit" portion of the program runs regularly but the "organize" portion fails to load the catalog.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from PSE 7 to PSE 11. Everything seems to have installed and the organiser loads, but I cannot get the editor to load. When selecting editor mode, it attempts to load but then crashes, a window pops up "Adobe photoshop elements 11 has stopped working".

I made a shortcut of the editor to desktop, but it crashes as well. This has happened since install, the editor has never worked.

System: meets all minimum requirments for software to run.
When in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.

At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.Â

When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.

Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again. Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.

A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop. A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.

disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)

 Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.

Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing.

 Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.

I'm a school teacher in the PLTW program that uses Inventor extensively in my classroom. Our district operates under a 125 seat license. The issue I've run into is on my personal computer (Windows Vista, x64) and is therefore outside the realm of the usual IT guy's duties. The Inventor software was installed on my laptop by the PLTW training staff during my summer session. I *think* it is a stand alone install of the program.
What happens is after I launch Autodesk Inventor, I can see the splash screen, and the inventor.exe task appears in the task manager, however after a few seconds, the splash screen disappears and the program does not launch. There is no error message.
This is confusing since until quite recently I am sure that Inventor was working hunky dory. Also, all the other Autodesk programs seems to function normally (Fusion, Design and Review)
I've tried a repair and reinstall, but the problem still persists. Also, I updated the install with SP 1, but this had no effect either.
I have recently updated my display drivers (ATI Radeon), however, I tried reverting back to the older drivers and still the problem persists, so I don't think it is graphics driver related
As stated in the thread, my Gimp program had just started to stop loading today, after it was working fine earlier this afternoon. I either select the program itself or an xcf file, and it starts to load with the green bar and everything. At about 3/4 into loading, right when it gets to "Tool Presets", windows informs me the program has stopped working and says it will notify me if it finds a solution.
I run the program on Windows 8.
I have had GIMP 2.8 up and running the last month or so. Just last night, it wouldnt load up. It got to the: tools preset and, says it has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I havent updated anything lately, and havent installed any new fonts, scripts or brushes in weeks, with the exception of saving some brushes with the: paste as brush command.
I am running the version 2.8.4 on my compaq Notebook, Windows 7. GIMP 2.6 works fine if i downgrade.
I have been using GIMP for a few weeks now and all of a sudden I cannot start the program anymore. During start up of GIMP 2.8 it displays a window saying it is loading data files. It gets as far as loading 'Tool presets' when it crashes. I tried restarting the computer and also uninstalling and re-installing GIMP with the same end result.

I can put Japanese characters using the text tool into a picture using gimp so I KNOW it knows the Japanese charset, but that error message ALWAYS occurs with images with filenames containing Japanese characters.

My ultimate objective is to paste the same .png on top of every picture (about 70 of them) in batch mode. In order to feed the "load this particular file as a layer" command to Batch Image Manipulation plug-in, it has to be a script.
Despite a great deal of time on the internet looking for the proper syntax of gimp-load-layer, I could not find a single explanation to the "filename" parameter. Is it an absolute path? If relative, of what and where? If absolute, what's the proper syntax: do I put quotes, slash or backslash, one or two slash after C:? When I try to run my script, I get the error "Execution error for 'Test': Error: ( : 1) Invalid type for argument 2 to gimp-image-insert-layer, which I take to mean what I'm trying to feed it isn't a layer, which means the gimp-load-layer operation failed.

I resize all my pix edits to 11-inches, to fit the screen properly.. After Gimp has resized about seven pix, on the next one, I delete the numbers after the decimal after the "11", and hit OK, but the numbers I deleted after the decimal all come back..
I must return to "Printsize", delete the whole height number, and key-in "11" for it to save the number of my choice..

I am doing a process which means that I have to repeat filters and it's a slow process to keep opening the filters tab, then the recently used tab, then the filter.
I was wondering if there is a way to load the 'recently used' up onto the main tool bar so that it would be possible to go straight to it.

Or maybe drag the 'recently used' to a separate tool bar of it's own?
I downloaded/installed the PPA for Gimp 2.9.1. It worked great for the first half dozen 16-bit tiffs.I use a few RAW converters to create these tiff tiles, RawTherapee, UFRAW, and the Sony software supplied with my A700 DSLR, Image Data Converter running through Wine.
At any rate, most of the tiffs I create now cause Gimp to crash when opening new files. I get this message: Plug-in crashed: "file-tiff-load" and Opening '/home/caruso/Desktop/PHOTOS from IDC/DSC06219.tif' failed:
Files created previously continue to open as normal.
I was so thrilled to have succeeded in installing 2.9.1 on my system, but now may have to uninstall it and fall back to 2.8.x.I realize that 2.9.1 is experimental and unstable, but would like to know if this is something simple that can be fixed.
I am trying to load single pages from multi page tiffs, convert them to monochrome (dithered), flatten the image, then save them as single monochrome, ccitt group4 tiffs. - all through scripts.
The multipage tiffs contain pages in grayscale and color which were created using the old style (problematic) JPEG compression option.
I have tried other tools, such as libtiff (modified with a patch to handle the old jpeg compression), and the latest version of imagemajick. Unfortunately they cannot correctly convert the files, whereas gimp can, but only one page of the multi-page tiff at a time(gimp crashes if I load a 5page document (as separate images) then convert each image to monochrome,flatten and save in one session)
the scripting function for loading tiffsfile-tiff-load does not expose the options to load individual pages, or to select loading as images or as layers, which the visual file load/import does.
How I can achieve this using a script.? Manually is not a problem, but too time consuming for large (eg. 200page) tiffs.
Is it possible to use a load statement in a profile to automatically load/unload a cuix?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a project that suddenly won't load. I have 25 versions of it, I save it under a new file name each time in case I need to go back to an older version.
Trouble is most of the versions won't load! Only the very early versions will load. Some of the later version start to load then disappear.
Hardware hasn't changed on the PC, maybe the video drivers have been updated, thats about it.

After reinstalling Photoshop on my new iMac I'm unable to run the 11.0.2 upgrade installer. It tells me that 11.0.2 is "already installed".The "About" box in Photoshop shows the version as 11.0.
My old computer had meltdown, smoke and all so i have bult a a new one but PS 4 Extended wont install correctly on Win 7 64 bit. it will get about 75% on the progress bar and then says it failed and do I want to continue. My install is a download version. I dont see it on my Adobe account anymore to download a new copy.

the compute is a Intel i5, 10 G of ram that I have been running Premiere Pro CS4 on with no problem.
I'm trying to install Photoshop CS6 trial on a Alienware MX17 Windows 7 64bit laptop, and it fails everytime. My videoo drivers are the latest it's possible to get, I also have all the latest windows updates installed. It goes through to the "Currently Installing Adobe Fonts Recommended x64" and hangs there.
It does not quit, the minutes remaining just keeps getting longer and longer. I left it running overnight once just in case is was very slow for some reason, the next morning when I checked it, it was in the same place, same percentage and the time remaining was several weeks. I've tried using the Installer, I've manually downloaded it. Neither work. I've tried with and without Administer rights.
The Adobe Support Assistant does give me the "The computer wants to reboot" error a few times, but there was never a "inprogress" entry in the registry as suggested by[URL]...Here is a link to my latest log file. I spent several hours putting together a compilation music video for my first time use in Corel VS Pro X4. When I was finally satisfied with what I'd created, I went to the tab to Share.I selected the setting for YouTube, named the file and saved.It started rendering, reached 21% and then nothing. The rendering box simply disappeared and ceased to do anymore.
I've tried 5 times since to render in different and varying formats, but each time it reaches 21% and then cops out, with the render box disappearing, despite the fact nothing has been touched.
My friend installed the program for me so I could try out hers before deciding to buy my own copy... but if this is what its going to be like, then I definitely won't be spending the money on it.
Using Vista 64-bit, installed PS CS4 the other day. I have been using the 64 bit version fine with no problems. However, I downloaded a plugin that only works in the 32-bit version, so I tried to launch the 32-bit version from the start menu, and the splash screen comes up for a few seconds, then an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working". The splash screen is stuck on "Building TWAIN menu items..." This also happens when I try to start the program from the photoshop.exe in Program Files (x86) folder.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install the Photoshop CS4 trial version on Windows 7 x64. After the two files download I run the exe file and it extracts all the files from the .7z file. Nothing happens after that, and if I goto the extracted files and try to run setup.exe it says that windows cannot find the specified file, and I might not have sufficient permissions. I am running this under my account with administrator privileges though.

I ran the CS3CleanUp [level 2] because I failed to install PSCS3 months ago and gave up.
I downloaded a new copy of PSCS3.
Installer runs smoothly but ends up with "some components could not be installed." That component apparently being PSCS3.
I can see that Bridge and Help have been added to my Adobe folder but not Photoshop CS3.

Somebody suggested that the problem is that I lack the correct runtimes, or they need updating? But WHAT runtimes? MVSC 2008? MVSC 2010? .NET? What version or versions of .NET?
I have Adobe CC on a Mac 10.6.8. Illustrator has just stopped launching. It bounces a few times, then stops. No error message. I have:
- restarted my machine
- updated the Illustrator CC
- restarted application deleting preferences
- deleted my Wacom drivers (even though they were up to date)
- I do not have any 3rd party drivers
