how can i do dash dot line in photoshop in ANY angle ?
line like ". ... . ... . ..." - i can do that in horizontal or vertical by filling the selection but if i want it in some weird angle i just cant find a way. stroking a path doesnt seem to help. and also, i dont want to rotate the horizontal line that i can do cos its not so sharp then. i need it completely sharp. something like patterned line... is there such thing or work around on this ?
Does anybody know how to make a dash line in Photoshop (I have CS2)? I've already read something about creating a custom pattern and then stroke a path with it. But is there any simplier (and more accurate) way- for example some brush setting?

So I have a student who wants to put these lines in the object. Since it would be very difficult to make these lines enclosed and looking right is there anyway to put these lines in the object. I don't understand why Emboss works on letters but not lines. That is all letters are.

I add in a website, extension to the phone number, switch out the fax (That's it!) and save as a new version. It's now almost 30 mb. Why?? My work email won't let me send something of that size.. I tried saving as smallest file size w/ preserving editing and it came out to be 15+ mb.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn other softwares when you creat a spline you are able to adjust the curvature between points by dragging the slope handles at a node. In my file, I have thus far been unable to fair my splines with any kind of consistancy. Also, it should be possible to place a tangent constaint to a straight line at a point, yet I haven't been able to do that either. According to the help files this should be an easy thing to adjust, Why am I not able to?

I have text from dt command, circle and leader line. After selecting them I use the copy command and starte pasting all over my drawing. Probable about 6 copies. about 3 or 4 of them end up not being able to select them. So if i want to edit the text, move all three entities or just delete them i cant. I figured out the only way to delete these "unselectable" objects i copied is to only have that layer on, type selectall and delete. Why this happens and why if i did 6 pastes it only happens to 3 or 4 of them? does it have to do with feature lines? I do have 3d lines in this dwg but i should still be able to select what i copied.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD LT 2013 to create figures (drawings) to be published. So I need the text within my figures to adhear to our publishing conventions. This means I need to be able to insert an 'en dash' (a dash that is slightly longer than a hyphen).
En dash (–)
Hyphen (-)
Draw text box, click on symbol option, select 'other' and insert through the character map. However it still only inserts a hyphen.
how to actually make this work, it is quite a large stumbling block and will create a huge amount of extra work if I am unable to do this in AutoCAD. It seems like a very basic text requirement.
I am drawing pipiing Iso's. I have a bunch of iso blocks that are drawn on layer "0". At each end of the iso, I have the last few pieces on a layer that has a thin line weight and a hidden dashed line. The blocks are are changing color wih the layer change, but not showing the line type of that layer. Lines and circles of the same size are showing the hidden dashes. (scale is good)
Also, I clicked on the block and try to change the ltscale in the property box it gives me the calculator but won't let me apply any changes. How to get my blocks to dash?
I was just going through the files for our main printed catalog, updating everything and turning individual pages into pdfs for the website, and once again ran into this anomaly. Often, photos with a white background would be processed for the pdf with a black kind of ragged edge line, appearing to be slightly offset from the actual cropping edge from DRAW. This has been an intermittent problem for as long as I can remember. I suspect Adobe is at fault, but what is the solution? I can re-crop the photo and regenerate a new pdf and sometimes that works, but not for a lot of these pics.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTotal buffoon when it comes to getting GIMP to do what I want to do. I'm just practicing with making maps, black lines on a white background, and I've run into some issues I'm wondering if I can get rectified.
1) For whatever reason, the line weight of everything has shifted throughout the file, ending with some lines lighter and grayer than others. Is there a way I can get GIMP to trace all the lines in a uniform black, with uniform thickness?
2) I have tried locking the white background, but often when I select and move my black lines, if I don't click in just the right spot it moves the white background instead, which is really, reeeaaaly aggravating. How Do I get that background to be completely untouchable?
3) In trying to colour the image, I've run into problems with their being a white outline between the colour and the black lines. I think I need to sharpen the image or somesuch? How can one correct this issue?
4) Is there anyway to convert the black dotted lines of the paths tools into straight black lines, in regards to an older file? If not, is there an easy way to trace them?
5) I find the scale too tends to make my image too jagged. I want to take a section of my map, move it too another file and enlarge it to do detail work - what's the best way to do this in order to have a clear image?
6) Any way to translate an image from a MErcator Projection ot a Winkell-Trippel projection, one that works on a Mac?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat would be the easiest way to create a 3-dash line for a drawing?
I have a user with a need for a 3-dash line. Like a phantom line but with 3 dashes.
I know how to edit the pen-up, pen-down settings in a .lin file. But then what would be the best way to handle the new line when it is sent to the client? Would I need to create a custom line file and sent it with the .dwg files or could I edit the acad.lin file? Would the receiver run into problems with missing linetypes?
I would like to have two fields in the iproperties and then concatenate them together. Lets say one is the the w.o. or project number and the other is the drawing number. I would like to have a third iproperty that concatenates them together seperated with a dash (EX. 200970-301).
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy is the first dash shorter than the rest?
When I preserve the dash like this The first dash doesn't start at the beginning of the path...
So I looked up how to reverse the path and found this [URL] but my object options don't have the "reverse path" option
EDIT: I just realized that changing the direction of the path wouldn't work because it would mess up when it's too close to another path (although I still would like to know how to flip the direction regardless).
I can not get rid of the phantom2 line type in my drawings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMany is the time that I need to have hidden, or dashed lines added to a drawing. I do this by putting LTYPE in the command line then loading the dash or hidden line that I want. The problem is that long after I have done this, I get a dashed line on any line that I attempt to draw. Even if I dimension something, the arrows and lines are also dashed lines. I go back into Modify Properties and LTYPE and attempt to delete the line types that I have added and I am not allowed to delete them.
