My Gimp is crashing EVERY 5 - 10 minutes and already crashed umpteen dozen times already today! ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is causing it to crash! from opening up an image, using tools, changing visibility of layers, It has CRASHED at least once for EVERY action I can perform in Gimp! and it ONLY lasts 5 - 10 minutes until a crash! it EVEN crashes when it is dormant!
I've installed GIMP 2.8 on Windows XP. It was working fine till yesterday. It is crashing within 3-5 minutes of opening an image and when working on the image.I get run time error.
I am trying to make a flyer and every 2 minutes PSP keeps crashing. Is there a way to get a log from it so I can post it here? I am using text and when i click on the right hand side to double click (for that the text sticks), it crashes. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Is Kaspersky Anti-Virus interfering with Gimp start up??? ever since I installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013, Gimp takes more than 20 minutes too start up, it searches for data files for more than 20 minutes straight before my image is opened in Gimp ever since Kaspersky was installed!
GIMP 2.8.6 and 2.8.8 keeps crashing on me. This typically happens when I add an .abr brush.I have a couple in there already that work and does not crash GIMP, but whenever I add new ones, it does no matter what.
I've been a GIMP user for a number of years now and it's always worked well for me, but since 2.8 came out I keep on experiencing crashes.
Some occur randomly, but the most common one is while attempting to zoom in or out by holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel. When I do this, either nothing happens, so no zooming (and moving up/down with mouse wheel doesn't work either), or GIMP just crashes, naturally deleting all my work in the progress. Sometimes just hitting Ctrl is enough to make it crash.
Starting GIMP through command line gives me this output upon crash..
I just recently started to use Gimp on my HP, and it worked fine on Dell. When I moved my brushes over, it began to crash when it'd get to the Data load. I have over 1,300 brushes, some are ABR and most are GBR, but I separated those into folders in the Brush file.
Ok, so I have been using Gimp for around a year now, I love it! Have never had any problems... until now. Ramdomly enough it has decided to stop working for me. On start up it takes alot longer than usual... 20 - 30 mins longer than usual! The start up splash screen freezes, along with the rest of my desktop. I always run it with nothing else running so I don't think there's anything conflicting there.
My windows updates are fully up to date, along with drivers etc. This really frustrates me because as I said, I have been running Gimp for almost a year without a single glitch.
I have also tried uninstall/reinstall, tried running the older build. If I do by some miracle get it to run, its extremely slow, freezes during simple tasks. Specs below -
OS MS Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit SP2 CPU Intel Celeron T1600 @ 1.66GHz16 °C Merom 65nm Technology RAM 1.00 GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 332MHz (5-5-5-15) Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 3612 (CPU)57 °C Graphics LP156WH1-TLA1 (1366x768@60Hz) Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family Hard Drives 156GB Seagate ST9160310AS ATA Device (SATA)48 °C Optical Drives HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50L ATA Device Audio Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221
I downloaded the latest Gimp 2.8 for Mac. Every time I try to edit text it crashes on me. The error log can be found at the thread I opened at Apple [URL]
i just update my Gimp to the new 2.8.6 and for some reason it keeps crashing whenever i start opening up GImp(the loading screen)! I kept uninstalling it and installing it again, but, the same crash always appears! I then restart the computer and it happens again!
I experienced this issue with Gimp 2.6 whenever I had a lot of brushes in the brush folder. The only way I found to avoid the problem was to have less brushes in it. As a result, I never got to really use all of them like I had intended to.
The current version I'm using is 2.8. I updated Gimp because I saw the tagging system. I figured it'd be easier to locate the brushes I want to use. The program worked fine up until I added more folders to the brush folder to take advantage of the tagging system. Now the start-up freezes and crashes when it's updating the tagging cache.
In general, Gimp seems to get mad at me when I add a crap ton more than it's comfortable with.
my Gimp is all of a sudden crashing on a frequent basis!!!! it could just be sitting there and I could be away from the computer and it crashes, I could just save or export the image and it crashes, I could just do one thing after opening an image and it crashes!!! it is crashing at RANDOM and WITHOUT explanation FREQUENTLY!!! I need fixing this frequent crashing issue!!!! I have NOT installed ANY new plug-ins or anything!!!
I have been having some problems with win 7 64 bit. Just installed Gimp 2.8.10 and tried using liquid rescale and I get a WARNING appear. The plug-in interface allows a new mask to be added but when clicking OK it does nothing and closes the plug-in.
I am currently using a windows 7 Toshiba laptop. I have downloaded the free trial of Photoshop but after around 5 mintues of use, it encounters a problem and has to close. Unfortunately, windows can not find the problem. I am therefore unable to do any work. I have tried restarting the laptop several times but it still keeps happening.
I just upgraded to CS6. I cant do anything in photoshop for more than a minute or so before it crashes. Both the 64 bit and 32 bit versions.I have reinstalled twice and applied all of the available updates. Tried running them as administrator with the same result.
I also updated my display drivers to the latest version and I do not have any fonts installed other than what comes with windows. This is a brand new computer Windows 7 64 bit
since I´ve installed Photoshop CS6 from the cloud with all the latest updates, the program crashes all day long, its really frustrating... I´ve never had similar issues with CS5 before. I´m running out of memory when opening a file (no matter how big!) and the program freezes, doesn´t respond any more.
I just installed CS4 ExtendeedI'm running Windows XP, SP2, 2.2 GHz, 512 MB of Ram, 55MB free space on hard drive,Anybody know why CS4 keeps shutting down and how I can fix it?
Basically PS is freezing up temporarily, after 2-3 minutes then it becomes usaable again until it decides to feeze again. I do most of my editing in Lightroom, and only use PS because I like to just do soem finally touch ups if needed (bit of dodge/burn) and i like to use photokit sharpener (I like to brush in sharpening with actions i have created). So, i can't say for sure what initiates the freezing. Sometiems its while trying to brush in sharpening, other times it won't allow me to save.
I'm on Mac using Snow Leopard. 4Gb RAM. I use a logitech mouse. I had previous been using CS4 with zero problems.I've tried unchecking "save in backgrorund" as well as "use graphics processor"
I have Photoshop CC on windows 8 machine with 16GB RAM and 2 GB Graphics card. The moment I starts the Photoshop, my machine freezes for 2-3 mins, disk usgae shooting to 100%. I have tried every steps to optimise my windows as well as photoshop. But the problem remains still.
When i want to print a photoshop document it takes a long time for the dialogs box to show up and from there on every click takes five minutes for photoshop to react. It might hasve something to do with a print pofile I installed for a dye printer but I have deleted tha printer and stil have the problem. May-by som way to reset the printer prifiles but I have no clue on how to do this.
I would like to know how many MINUTES (approx) of video recorded in highest quality 1080/50p video on a 32Gb SDHC memory card.
I have found a web site which suggests that 5 hours 20 minutes can be recorded with the camera's in built memory (32Gb) yet only 2 hours 40 minutes on a 32Gb SDHC memory card. I cannot understand why the inbuilt memory can store more than twice as much as on an equivalent size SDHC card.
Currently we change our printing equipment, Kyocera to HP.The problem is that before printed instantly (in seconds) and now it takes 20 minutes to 45 minutes.
For example:
1. - A 2D file with 655 KB they send to print and goes to the print queue with a weight of about 40 MB.
2. A 2D file with 2MB send it to be printed and the print queue with a weight of about 40 MB.
HP 9050 with PCL6 Universal Printer Driver, to which was added more memory and hard drive and still the same.
Win XP sp3 AutoCAD 2010 with the service pack installed 2GB RAM NVIDIA Quadro SX1700
Photoshop CS will take approximately 7 minutes to boot if I don't goto:
C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-ins
And place a ~ in front of the Imports & Exports folder (a ~ in front of a folder name will prevent PS from loading that folder's contents on boot)
The only file in this folder is:
TWAIN_32.8BA
Also, I have to goto:
C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-insAdobe Photoshop Only
And ~ out the Automate folder (and the Online folder inside it) or I'll get another extremely long timeout on booting)
Does anyone know how I can re-enable these things?
The "ONLINE" folder got me thinking. I'm using a hardware firewall and a software firewall. But even when I disable the software one, I still get the long boots.
