i just update my Gimp to the new 2.8.6 and for some reason it keeps crashing whenever i start opening up GImp(the loading screen)! I kept uninstalling it and installing it again,but,the same crash always appears! I then restart the computer and it happens again!
View 2 RepliesI use a program that can consume memory like a dragon can consume humans (had to think of a good metaphor ) When I start up photoshop while this program is in use or when I exit the other program, photoshop will crash, almost instantly. The only solution is to restart the computer.
Is there a solution to this without having to restart the computer ? There is plenty of physical RAM, including 20+ gigs of virtual memory incase. Despite all this, photoshop continues to crash.
I edited a wedding video that is over 90 minutes long (it was a wedding in Ireland). It was filmed in AVCHD on a pro video camera.
I wanted to produce a standard DVD and a Blu Ray copy to send over. The DVD copy rendered fine but the Blu Ray as well as the AVCHD file crashed every time and even crashed the computer to re-start. It crashed at around 30% in and I tried a number of different combinations to accomplish this render.
What I then did after a few attempts was to look at the last frame of the couple of files it did render to see where on the time line it was crashing.
It turned out it was on a transition I customised, I think using proDAD VitaScene. It was a transition that created a twinkling star effect from one scene to the next. As soon as I removed this one transition and it rendered a Blu Ray file with no problems at all.
One question though, I am not sure why there are so many choices of Blu Ray and AVCHD in the menu. What is the difference and which one would be the generally used one.
when i start the program up and make a new project, as soon as i hit okay the "Photoshop has to close" window comes up. I've tried everything, i even went from 2000 fonts to 300 (was thinking that was the cause but it wasn't as it worked fine before then)

It consistently crashes on the same file, but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. I've tried resetting my profile and deleting temporary files (disk cleanup) to no avail.

Not always the same but it will certainly do it after a few clicks... won't continue working with it WAY too risky. Needless to say every other program runs smoothly, for a long time no app crashed in my system... back to LR4... I must say that Win 7 resists very well all this... I haven't had a blue screen in ages...

Unfortunately, I have to have my hard drives reformatted and Windows 8 reinstalled, so I have to reinstall PsCC on this same computer. Do I simply sign in, download and install PsCC and Bridge again when my computer is ready? Will Adobe count it as a second installation or do I need to deactivate PsCC before I reinstall it on the same machine?

Sometimes Photoshop comes up and I can use it, but then I get a Windows XP error"bark," with no error message or error dialog. Once that happens I can no longer open or edit or save images. Other times it will not completely start up.
The "universal" Microsoft Windows "fix," a re-boot of the computer makes the problem go away, until it happens again. I have made sure that there are no errors in the registry with Norton Utilities. Windows XP is up to date.
Is there an error log someplace that Photoshop issues? All other apps on the computer seem to work fine.

I have re installed Photoshop 7 and now when I click on the Photoshop icon it begins to load then halfway through I get a message that says "You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary scratch and windows primary paging file on the same volume which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary scratch volume to be on a different volume, preferably on a different physical drive" The only option here is to press "OK" then it automaticly closes.

am using windows 7 without aero windows. Twice when using Corel draw and saving the program has crashed. I have then had to ctrl alt delete and shut the program down.

LR 2.7 is loaded on the new machine and I have a folder called Photo Universe that contains 15,000+ photos with keywords, modifications, etc. Quustion is how to import the existing folders and photos so that my previous keywords, configurations and settings carry over as well.

So I formatted this computer and installed windows 7 64x pro, installed all the software etc. This computer is also part of a domain. Problem now is opening some AutoCAD files on the server, edit the file then hit the x in the corner to close it, we hit yes to save it then the whole computer just freezes. It doesn't happen with all files, just some and I can't work out what the problem is. ALSO when copying some CAD files from one project folder on the server to another project folder on the server it freezes. No problems copying files to the local computer/desktop, just server-server. The graphics card driver is up to date etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running a Windows XP machine with Corel Draw X6 (32 Bit) and under the Trace Bitmap option, Quick Trace will work but anything under the Centerline Trace and Outline Trace options will upset Corel Draw and freeze. The program does not say "Not Responding" but no functions will work or the mouse will not change cursor and the only way to exit is to end the task.I have run updates on the program and upgraded to X6.1 but with no luck, still the same issue.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been a GIMP user for a number of years now and it's always worked well for me, but since 2.8 came out I keep on experiencing crashes.
Some occur randomly, but the most common one is while attempting to zoom in or out by holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel. When I do this, either nothing happens, so no zooming (and moving up/down with mouse wheel doesn't work either), or GIMP just crashes, naturally deleting all my work in the progress. Sometimes just hitting Ctrl is enough to make it crash.
Starting GIMP through command line gives me this output upon crash..
My Gimp is crashing EVERY 5 - 10 minutes and already crashed umpteen dozen times already today! ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is causing it to crash! from opening up an image, using tools, changing visibility of layers, It has CRASHED at least once for EVERY action I can perform in Gimp! and it ONLY lasts 5 - 10 minutes until a crash! it EVEN crashes when it is dormant!
