I'am using Photoshop Elements 11 on my Windows 8, but when creating a catalog everytime I press the button the organizer will crash "Elements 11 organizer has stopped working".I had done re-installing and deleting the file folder before re-installing the software but the problem still occur. I haven't used the software because I just bought it and had done nothing yet with it.

The program was working fine until I tried to import my picture files into the organizer. Ever since, it has been shutting down like this.
I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalled it and the problem persists.
I am running elemens 11 on windows 8 with a touch screen conputer. when I try to use the Move tool, I get the boxes around the image but I can't get it to drag and drop. What can I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a Windows user moving to a Mac. I did a backup of my (Windows) Photoshop Elements 11 catalog on an external drive in preparation for restoring in on my MacBook pro.
I've read a number of different posts on here regarding the restore process and gathered the following information:
1) Open up Elements 11 on the Mac and select File > Restore Catalog
2) Navigate to external drive and select the .tly file. (choose as source of restore)
Backup folder contents on external drive (former Windows Catalog to be used on Mac)
1) My backup folder contains about 9,500 items. The majority of the files all beging with a "B" and are jpg files. However, a small number also end with the following: .cache, .dat, and .xml. Should these be in the backup file?
2) I also have "Catalog.buc" and "Backup.tly" files within my backup folder on my external drive
Question(s)
1. Based on the information I've read online, it would appear that the only thing I want to be concerned with in the backup folder is the "Backup.tly" and the other files contained within my backup folder on my external drive aren't relevant to the restore. Is that correct?
2. Do I need to select anything else as part of the restore process after selecting the "Backup.tly" on my external drive? For example, do I have to point to a folder on my Mac for the restore to occur or will this happen automatically since I will already have Photoshop Elements 11 open on my MacBook pro when I am performing the restore process?
3) Currently, I have hundreds of "folders" under "My Pictures" on my Windows machine that separate out each event (Xmas 2010, Xmas 2011, etc.). Up until now I haven't been using the tagging feature within Photoshop. My initial intent was to copy the "My Pictures" folder from my C drive on my Windows machine to the "Pictures" folder on my Mac. (not planning to import them into iPhoto).
Will PSE 11 on my Mac be able to "find" this new path for the photos that were moved from my Windows machine to the "Pictures" folder on my Mac? Do I need to do something to make sure this happens during the restore process on my Mac?
As an example, the patch for a random photo in PSE 11 on my Windows machine looks like the following:
C:Documents and SettingsTomMyDocumentsMyPicturesXmas 2010 (as an example for one of the pictures contained in my Windows catalog)
Clearly, this path won't exist on my MacBook Pro and I just want to make sure I know whether or not I have to do something to redirect the pictures in my (restored) catalog.
having this problem with PSE11 in Windows 8! In sharing preferences, I am only given one option -- Adobe mail. And it won't work. I've used that service before on my work computer running PSE9 and Windows XP. Why don't I get the Windows Mail option? What good is it anyway, sitting there on the start screen and seems to be unavailable otherwise -- I'm usually working from my desktop. I dual boot to Windows XP and have Office 2003 installed there and am able to email photos via Outlook (not express) -- works good. Unfortunately, Office 2003 is not compatible with Win 8 64bit. What do I do now? I saw the tip about downloading and installing Windows Live Mail for Win 7. I thought it was built into Windows 8? Arguablly Windows 8 is a goofy operating system, at least for desktop PCs!
View 2 Replies View RelatedA lot of pictures of my collection do have GPS-data in EXIF-header. Sometimes they are shown on the world-map, sometimes not. In list-view they are never shown. The list-view knows only locations, which are matched with PSE.
The EXIF-input was made by two different tools (Holux GPS Software and Geosetter 3.4.16).
How can I get the list-view for the saved files without using PSE adding location?
Elements 12 organizer keeps crashing. Can I reinstall the program on top of the existing program, or will that create other problems ?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Photoshop Elements 12 with Windows 7 on Intel i7-3960x. OS and program are on SSD. Files on HHD. Experiencing frequent Organizer crashes especially while updating faces or scrolling, but it will also crash when it not active (just sitting in background). I turned off auto analysis and so far no crash. I have tried remove and reinstall, repair cat, optimize, etc. No luck. I have about 50,000 files in catalouge.
Well, after two days, Organizer 12 still crashing whether or not analyzer is active. Tried reloading program to same drive photos are on. Still crashing. Removed Premiere 12, still craches. Also, running face analysis on a single picture faile to find any faces - even on pictures with clear, easily identifyable faces. I am getting tired of seeing "Elements 12 Organizer has stopped working". I did not have these problems with earlier editions.
A day later. So I had a chat session with Adobe and the recommendation was to create a new catalog and start over. The suspected cause of the problem was corrupted imported tags. I did not follow the recommentation. I went back to my catalog and looked through the imported tags (using the large icons selection). I found one tag connected to Facebook and a couple of tags with busted icons. I deleted them. I created new tags to replace the imported tags and deleted all the imported tags. The program has been solid for two days and a lot of usage.
PSE 9 crashes on opening if the Organiser icon is selected. Edit icon does not crash program. Windows states "PSE 9 Elemnts Organiser has stopped working, will look for cause/reason then closes program.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded and started using PSE 12 Editor and Organizer about a week ago. (An upgrade fron PSE11). Today for whatever reason, when trying to import any file, say from my desktop or a download foler, the list of locations to import appears for a second, then disappears. I am unable to do any other action and have to quit or force quit. In PSE Editor, I am able to open a file, but when trying to save it, I get an error that "Could not complete your request due to a Program Error". I use a Mac and just recently upgraded to OS Maverick. I also tried using PSE 11 and run into the same problem.

Ctrl+1 gives me pictures. But those includes bmp, psd, png, etc.
Find with search for filename. But I can't seem to do a *.jpg.

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !

It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.

The re-install doesn't ask what you want to do with the current contents like the earlier versions did so I virtually just got a copy of what I already had and still can't delete. My question: How can I wipe PSE off of my computer and reinstall it from scratch? I have backed up everything to external HD?

Before now I have used the Twain interface.If I push the "scan" button on the printer, it says "waiting for PC".If I use the WIA import option, PSE asks which pictures I want to COPY.I copied the Import Export directory from Optional Plugins to Plugins, and selected it in PSE preferences, but the option for Twain does not come up when I select Import.

A friend bought a copy at the same time and she has the plug-in. I have tried the erasrue tool but when I get too close to the edge it is not differentiating between the person and the background - the colours are not hugely different. I have tried different ways of doing it with discontinuous option. on demos, it points to the sampling option but that doesn't seem to be available as an option. I have also tried using the selection tool but it is difficult/impossible for me to accurately capture the body of the person only as it traces elements of the door behind the person.

I shoot pics with a Cannon 6D and the RAW files are not supported. Is the Adobe DNG Converter 7.3 the right download to make this work?
I can only view photo when 4 or less thumbnails are displayed at a time. When zoomed out to more than 4, photos disappear and hourglass symbol appears.
