so i downloaded the copasetic font and am trying to use it in a picture, and i can get a text box to appear and i can write the words i want, but i cant change the size to anything smaller or larger than what it starts out at. ive tried changing the size before i start typing, and its the same thing.
View 2 RepliesI have a jpg file from which I need to crop a 128x128 section and create a bmp file from it.
I've cropped the image and copied it into a new file. But when I go to save it (as .xcf), I see my smaller image but it is centered within a gray border that is the size of my original image. I want just the 128x128 part and nothing extra.
I've attached a screen shot to show what I am dealing with.

I have changed Canvas size a thousand times in my life and this has never happened before.
I have an image that is 1600 px wide and I want to trim the sides to 1260. When I start to even type in the smaller size, the file size indicated is larger (that was my first suspicion that something was not right). And sure enough, it is making the image larger?
I use ctrl+ the number pad to change the point size of fonts. I just got thinking, it would be nice to use the same commands for making the current selection larger or smaller too. Maybe 2 and 8 would be down and up by 1 percent of current size and 4-6 could be 1% of original size. 5 would be 'return to 100% of original size.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6

I have been looking around on Google, but couldn't find much.Tried scaling with all the different ways (Linear, Cubical... etc). Also tried scaling from XCF and PNG files. Nothing seem to maintain the quality of the text on the image.
First I pick out a foreground color, then a bg color. Now there is already a nice gradient in the blend box below the toolbox. Is there any way I can just save that? It's all I really need but in a larger size. I could just take a screen shot of it and then edit that with Gimp, but it seems like there must be a way of doing that within gimp.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using GIMP to make GIFS for a long time now, but recently the "optimize for difference" option I've used is having the reverse effect it should have- ie, it's making the file larger. Here's an example. It's the exact same image, same dimensions, same amount of colors. The first one is unoptimized, each frame is a full picture, and it's file size it ~149kb. The second one is the same as the first, except optimized with about ~50% of the pixels removed from each frame (except the first frame obviously), and yet it's file size is ~155kb. I can not for the life of me figure out why an image with most of it's pixels removed is creating a larger file size. [URL]...

I'm flattening and making sure 8 bit. Most are ending up about 48MB. but some are ending up 80 MB and others 15 MB. what determines these oddballs being so large or small after being flattened?
It doesnt matter what i do. when i try to scale any object from larger to smaler, even when its on a group. it deforms the positon of the ancor points i think its a bug. because it doesnt matter what i do whit the configuration, its still bothering to the point that is really unconfortable to work.

Try to unchecking the 'dynamic text' button but I don't see this button anywhere in my text tab.
I have never been able to successfully use GIMP for anything because of this problem with adding text. I have had 2 versions, Windows and Linux. Right now I am using it with Pangolin.
I have just had a new 1TB internal hard drive installed in my PC and then the original smaller internal 500GB hard drive cloned onto it. The new 1TB is now Local Dick C and the smaller 500GB has been changed from C and is now Local Disk F. PSE11 is running from the new C and all my pictures are on both C and F but the catalogue is pointing to F. I want to delete all of the old files on F to free up space since they are all cloned to the new 1TB C, so I want the PSE11 catalogue to point only to the pictures on C. I have tried creating a new Catalogue and importing my pictures from C. The images come in and look connected to C but, when I close PSE11 and then reopen that new catalogue, the image path reads F, as does the original catalogue. So, now I have two catalogues apparently point to F but I want to: 1) have only one catalogue pointing to C; 2) the delete catalogues pointing to F; 3) then reformat F: so I have a clean 500GB old hard drive for future expansion.

Millions of questions, but to start: How can I alter the resolution of and image without changing its physical size. I am trying to keep to a print size of 7x5", and reduce the resolution to 300pixel/inch. When I go to: 'set image print resolution' and change the X and Y resolution, the 'Print Size' changes with it. I have tried everything I can think of. I have make a new file at the correct resolution and pasted the image in, but the colors in the photos changed, so I dumped that idea.

Image / Print Size is exactly 13x19. However, when I print to a PDF printer, and set the page size within the Print Preferences to Custom 13x19, I still get a much larger page than the image is.
I see message boards say to use File / Page Setup and select a Custom Print size. I do not see this as an option.
I've tried saving to PNG and then opening in other programs, but it makes the image much larger, and it affects the set-up.
The sliders are nearly useless for me as I typically use pens and brushsizes of 1,5, 10 and 20. I need to change the size regularly and thesliders would be ideal yet my 'working' range is in a tiny little bit atthe end of the slider value.
It would be a huge gain for me to some how set the max slider value to avalue of my choice (say 50) rather than the current value of 1000
Is it possible? If not can I make a feature request (and if so how)
Is there a way to change the resolution of a picture without it changing the size.

The nodes on my path tool seem awfully big. They get in the way of seeing what i'm editing. I've noticed on some tutorials the nodes are quite small. Is there a way to change their size?

It's big building and the movie should be for about 1 minute presentation which I have to send to an e-mail (so no more than 10 mb) ,but when I make movie of 60 seconds the size of the file is way too big (about 20 mb). Is there a way to make smaller files or I should use another software? I have tryed all the three formats available in autocad.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I moved to CS3 from CS2. Now I notice that files I made in CS2 with particular settings weighted around 27 megabytes, 30 megabytes tops. These exact files weight 40 megabytes when saved in CS3. I think this is an ARGH!,
But picture this: maybe many of you have heard that if you hide the layers before saving the PSD, then the file size will be significantly smaller upon save. I tried this tip and it worked indeed. My CS3 files do weight as much now as they should, though without the layers shown. No chance this way to look at them, manage them with an image viewer etc.
is this a known and existent issue in CS3, does CS3 save and reveal some senselessly large "blind data" that CS2 could manage easily?

- make the image square, by increasing the canvas size of the least dimension. ie if the width is less than the height, increase the width to the value of the height, or conversely if the height is less than the width
- add a transparency layer
- save to xcf
I was trying painting with gimp and there is a shortcut in gimp to change the size of the brush/opacity my moving the stylus like you can on photoshop or sketchbook pro.

I have been receiving some very simple files from a colleague and her file sizes are a 10th of what mine are. The confusing part is she is sending them in CMYK and I convert them to RGB.
Theoretically they should be smaller. Dimensions and resolution are exactly the same and both are 8 bits per channel and no color profiles. She might be using an older version of Photoshop than me (currently CS3). Anyone have any ideas?
I'm trying to make this picture's file size smaller. It's the startup page for my website that I'm making. The file size is somewhere around 130 kb, and it takes a while for it to load up for a website. Yes I've used Imageready, and that doesn't help a whole lot. I just want it to load up quicker, without losing a lot of quality. The website is for the Air Force, I'm joining as a pilot and am making a site documenting my growing up in an air force family, and my going in the Air Force myself.

It does the same thing with a Flash gallery also.
I imported images from my 1D M4 and made themDNG rather than RAW. All the images, JPOG and DNG have a heading in image info at top of the image in Library or Develop as 4.0MP indicating that the information is very small. Canon tells me this camera should show MP as 16-18MP and large prints available. The smmaller bird will not crop to make an image over 4x4 and I pring 8x10. Canon believes it is a LR4 preference issue but I can't locate it in importing. I did note a export image smaller and changed it but regardless, I checked the importing file size and tey are all significant so it is a Adobe LR4 issue and preference somewhere. NAPP says it is not LR4 so I am caught?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using Adobe Photoshop CS2 - and I've run into a awkward problem. I cannot get it to write text in larger than font 72. When I'm trying to insert text - it has the default sizes 6-72 for font size. Other is grayed out (always is, never seen it as an option to actually choose).
I've been reading multiple tutorials for help on Photoshop and many of them mention using a font larger than 72 for watermarks or whatever else may be.
No matter what font I choose, other is always grayed out. I've scavaged through their help files and can't find anything even remotely close to this issue - so wondering if anybody else has run into this?
