View 1 Replies CS4 Extended. Early 2008 iMac 24", 4 GB RAM, updated to Mountain Lion OSX 10.8.3 in Dec 2012.CS4 (11.0.2) was working fine with no issues until 2 weeks ago. The startup splash screen loads and displays messages about various tools being loaded....
However, it does not go beyond: "Reading Color Settings...." and I get the spinning color ball if the cursor is over the splash screen and a blue spinning ball when the cursor is outside the splash screen.Have to use "Force Quit" to get out of the program.Adobe Acrobat Reader also does not work. Upgraded from Adobe LightRoom LR2 to LR4 and that works fine!
Here is what I have tried:
Uninstalled Acrobat Reader and CS4 Rebooted the computer Re-installed CS4 (legit copy and have serial #) Re-installed Reader Checked for updates on Adobe site and updated CS4 to 11.0.2 Rebooted the computer Started CS4..... Got to the same step "Reading Color Settings..." and the programs hangsThought that some crucial file(s) in the System may have been damaged/corrupted, so...Re-installed Mountain Lion to potentially remove/overwrite damaged filesRebooted the computer Launced CS4 and got the same results as in step 7 above
I'm running 17.0.2 on a Macbook Pro and I trying to create a pdf (any type of) from my artwork that is 8.5*11 and only 2 MB. Everything goes smoothly till half way through the pdf creation process then the progress bar just sits there? I can create pdf's from other artwork that are even larger files no problem?

View 10 Replies View RelatedIt's probably something to do with the brushes 'cause when the folder (for the brushes) was still empty; Gimp started without any problems. And now, when the brushes are there, Gimp keeps on crashing. I'm 100% sure that this never happened to me when I was using the 2.6 version. URL....
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had Gimp 2.8.6 for awhile now but suddenly within the past week it has begun to freeze during the startup process. It will get to 'loading fonts' and then it will stop. I don't have any extra fonts, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, and I've also tried installing previous versions and then updating them but nothing seems to be working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed the Gimp 2.4.7 Mac Tiger PPC (with the Help Files) on an iMac G4/800, 768 ram, Nvidia GeForce2 MX (32mb). I was using 2.6.8 but this is obviously the right version for my computer specs. Just a couple of Gimp startup questions. How can I start the Gimp without the Splash Screen? Also, when the Gimp starts, there are 2 long, rectangular boxes. How can I get the "Layers, Channels, Paths" etc. box not to be part of the Gimp startup? Then, in the Main Menu box, I only want it to open only as far as the Paintbrush Configuration area. So when I start the Gimp, I just want the small Main Menu box to open.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast month, I've been trying GIMP. It works fine, 2.8 one. But, yesterday, I just wanted to open it, actually the startup loads well, but somehow, stopped while attempt to loading fonts, so, I force to close it with task manager. And opening it again. My gimp startup doesn't load earlier, and suddenly loading fonts once the startup opened up. A little moment, my Gimp was not responding, and make the whole WINDOWS NOT RESPONDING. The only way I can, is just shutting it down, forced it, by plugging off the power source
little note, I'm running Gimp 2.8 inside of 32 bit windows 7.
Is this Querying all the plugins each time, normal? It takes quite a while to boot as a result. Great program otherwise.

I have a new (cheap) Lenovo Notebook that came preconfigured with Windows 8.
With some effort, I have configured it to have an administrator account and a normal user account.
Today I downloaded the latest GIMP and installed it on the administrator account. The program starts fine (albeit painfully slowly) and seems to run normally on the administrator account. However, in the normal user account, Gimp gets part way through loading and crashes as shown in this image:
what the error message: "The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an usual way" might mean?
I installed Gimp 2.8 for Windows tonight on an XP SP3 system and it hangs for more than 30min when starting (never completes initializing). Gimp 2.8 takes 50% CPU and 184Mb RAM and sits "Gathering Data" with no further progress. I end up killing the process.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled into a fresh directory with no change. I gave up and tried to reinstall 2.6 and get almost the same issue except RAM usage goes up to 550Mb and it sits at the startup screen.
I experienced this issue with Gimp 2.6 whenever I had a lot of brushes in the brush folder. The only way I found to avoid the problem was to have less brushes in it. As a result, I never got to really use all of them like I had intended to.
The current version I'm using is 2.8. I updated Gimp because I saw the tagging system. I figured it'd be easier to locate the brushes I want to use. The program worked fine up until I added more folders to the brush folder to take advantage of the tagging system. Now the start-up freezes and crashes when it's updating the tagging cache.
In general, Gimp seems to get mad at me when I add a crap ton more than it's comfortable with.
When I start up my GIMP in windows, it indexes the fonts every first time that I start after a reboot.I am using windows 7, is there anyway to tell gimp not to index the fonts ?

I am using Photoshop CS3 on a PowerPC Mac running OS X 10.4.11. Some days ago, I attempted to run photoshop by clicking the icon on the dock. The splash screen loads fine but immediately as the splash screen loads photoshop closes automatically. I have already tried the following:
1. Rename TWAIN file by adding the ~ in front of it
2. Deleting photoshop preferences by using Command+Shift+Option .
I first installed 2012, then I realized that my class will be using 2011. I downloaded 2011, and kept my 2012, and it didn't seem like there would be any issues. So I open my 2011 and it keeps crashing before it loads completely. There are no error messages or anything ...2012 works just fine. I tried doing a repair, and a reinstall.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use a room tag to calculate my occupants based on the area of the room divided by the occupant load factor. The room area would be pulled from the room, the occupant load factor (OLF) would be manually input by the user. Once the OLF was input a formula would take over and give the number of occupants. Is this possible? I know it can be done in a schedule but I would like to put it into a tag for a code study. Eventually this tag could be expanded to provide other information such as required exit width from the room.

View 3 Replies View Relatedon projects that reference acad 2013 assemblies, specifically accormgd, my pictureboxes throw an exception when loading their image:
this.pictureBox2.Image = ((System.Drawing.Image)(resources.GetObject("pictureBox2.Image")));
it says cannot find assembly accoremgd....
Don't know how the heck that involves a picture box, since all object types have full names here.
This Project is set to run as a windows application, for testing reasons. That is likely related, but I do this all the time with no issues. I can comment out the line above and no issues.
Is there some entanglement between pictureboxes and the acad assemblies?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have VS 12 installed on Windows 7 computer. It worked so far fine, but yesterday evening I wanted to upload my mpg files from the hard disk to the library. And guess, the system is very slow, it took almost 20 minutes to upload about 10 mgp files, after each file nothing happened for almost 2-3 minutes. Each clip is about 10-20 sec long. The files are stored on an external hard disk (Buffalo 500G) which is connected via USB 2 interface. It did not do that before, it was much quicker. Could it be the recent Windows updates?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI understand that in a normal part to apply a load to a face is to make it a UDL (uniformly distributed load) by default. To apply a point load, I was told to create a small sketch and use it to split a face to create, in effect, a small face on which to apply a load, effectively making it a point load.
Now in the frame analysis environment, there is clearly an option for 'force' and one for 'continuous force' which the description clearly describes as a uniformly distributed load. However, when I run the simulation (on a 2m long 100mm x 50mm x 4mm Rectangular hollow beam) with a normal load in the middle of the beam (1m offset); the maximum moment comes out at 500000 Nmm or 500 Nm. By my reckoning the moment should be 1000 Nm as the basic formula for a moment from a point load is M = F*D (Moment = Force * Distance). However, to get 500 Nm, it looks like Inventor is using M = (F*x^2)/2 where x is the midspan of the beam (in this case 1m). .is a normal load in frame analysis the same as a UDL? If so..how to I make it a point load?
There are also some errors stating instability of type 2 at various nodes, I've used both Pinned and Floating constraints at either end of the beam.
I am creating seed files for contractors and clients to use. I have created the object data table(s) in AutoCAD Maps beforehand to be able to view/edit in AutoCAD Civil/Civil 3D 2010.
Is there a setting that automatically attaches this data to any object (line, circle, block, etc) drawn in a sheet. I am hoping to skip the step of manually entering "adeattachdata" and then selecting the objects that the object data is to appear. I realize that each sheet would only have one object data table.
I have CS installed on my laptop. running WinXPPro, and unfortunately a few weeks ago CS started to behave badly. The program appears to load fine but 1 or 2 seconds after finally loading the program disappears from both the Application list and the window. The Task manager continues to show the Photoshop.exe process but its doing nothing. I have deleted preferences, I have re-installed, I have removed FlashPlayer (a CS3 problem sounded similar) all to no avail. Oddly enough ImageReady CS performs fine - it just doesn't give me the features I need access to do my work.
