I'm starting some designs to be cut out of vinyl and wanted to put registration marks on the drawing so I can line different cuts up. How these work. How do I put registration marks in?
View 3 RepliesUsing CD x4.I cut directly from Corel. I was trying to do a simple 2 color vinyl job. I put reg marks but they are only on one layer. I tried copying but they weren't in the same place as the other layer.
Is there a way to get the Reg Marks to appear on all layers properly ?
We have certain registration marks that we use on our designs before we print to vellum. How to be able to write a macro that could do the following? I've attached an example image of where we place the registration marks and am also attaching the actual registration mark CDR file. I'm assuming this would probably be rather simple...
We'd like this registration mark to be centered to the image and placed on the top and bottom of the image at .25 inches away from the image itself. So, I would think the macro would have to select the entire image on the page, then decide where .25 inches is away from the top and bottom of the image and place the registration mark, centered in that area.
I am starting a small screen printing business and need help with registration marks. I have adobe photoshop 6.0. Now I know you have to scoll down to print option and then from there you can check a box that says registration marks but they dont work, nothing appears. I have used them before about a year ago so I know how to get them on. They just wont work now...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a plugin for Color Separation named FastFilms which produces separated (hidden/non-modifyable) color channels. When I print any channel (to an old 11x17 HP Laser 4V) using 300 DPI, the registration marks are nice and dark, but of course I lose pixel definition. When I change the print setting to 600 DPI, I get more pixels but the registration marks are much lighter and partially missing parts of all the circles.
I am using this for screenprinting and the light registrations do not expose enough to print. Eliminating the Plug-in as the problem, I created a totally new blank page and printed (same printer) in both 300 DPI and 600 DPI and (hard to understand), both prints have the lighter registration marks.
Unless I can somehow darken the registration maks (during print), it would also work if I could "unlock" the hidden Photoshop separated channels (for each color from the plugin) and copy/paste duplicate manual registration "+"s myself. Manually prepared graphics with manual registrations work fine on this printer. I am at a real impass on this. Any help, suggestions, or ideas?

i have been using xara as my main graphics tool for years, and i enjoy it. however, the person who's cutter i use only knows coreldraw as that is what is preferred with the Roland gx-24 vinyl cutters. i dont want to have to learn coreldraw.
i have loaded my designs as gifs, jpegs and bmps into corel, but even after using the 'trace' feature on corel, all the lines are not perfect like they are in xara. the cutter cuts the lines in a jagged way, and the curves are not smooth. save my xara designs as .cmx or .svg. i did that and tried importing into corel and i got an 'I/O Error', so that didnt work.
the only way i can get the straight cut lines is if i load my fonts into corel, and re-create my design in corel, which i just dont have the time for.
Every time I send text to my vinyl cutter from CD it puts vertical lines thru some of the letters and cut them out... letters such as : D, O, Q, G, S and others. I have tried different fonts but they are all the same.
It seems as though I have a button pressed or something turned on but cannot figure what is wrong.
I would like to be able to use CorelDRAW X3to plot directly with my vinyl plotter without the need of exporting files etc... I recently trialled a program called CoCut by Eurosystems and it worked great but Im not real keen on shelling that much money on the program.
How to prevent other programs importing PLT files from Corel making all lines between nodes straight. It seems to only export the node location and not the info on curves or straight lines which means the other program simply fill in between the nodes with straight lines.
I'm having a hard time exporting my designs to jpeg files. I use the export command, but after I hit ok, it doesn't save? I used Google chrome on windows 7 ultimate platform, with 8 gigs of ram with 500 mb of hard drive space.

I recently purchased Coreldraw Home and Student Suite from my local computer store, on there advice that this would work with a vinyl plotter.
I have since installed the software and it has not worked as it is not compatible with vinyl plotters.
when i cut vectors letters and numbers, its cuts but at every character it does not seem to completely fill the edges. so i always have to use my small nt cutter to do that.
i read the manuals, changed the offset, reduced the cut speed, increased the pressure and even convert to curves before i cut but the problem does not go away. the company where i bought it from is not very useful.
maybe because the machine is chinese i have a creation pcut ct630 vinyl cutter.also in coreldraw, i always use "harline" when cutitng anything is it correct?

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. It has a 500GB HD, 4GB RAM, 16" screen and CorelDRAW X5 and Summa's WinPlot bridge software installed. Everything runs perfectly.
I want to be able to cut vinyl letters from my Summa D75R vinyl cutter and then to cut a different colored outline to be applied over the top of those letters. The letters themselves, that is, the main body of the letters, I can cut with no problem.
I know that I will have to separate the two elements and cut the letters from one file and the outlines from a different file. As an experiment I created a single word with a color. I then created an outline for that word. I deleted the body of the letter leaving only the outline.
I then did a "Convert to Curves" on the outline and imported the image into the WinPlot software that my Summa D75R vinyl cutter uses. I sent the image to the cutter but it cut it as a solid letter. It did not make a double-line cut as it would have to do to make the image an outline.
Using X% and trying to make some website logo designs but all the letters etc do not look nice and smooth on the site.
I make the logo full size and shrink it then save for web but when I import to the site program and publish the site the logo looks ragged.

I have tried lots of different design ways but still looks crummy.
I work at a small newspaper and use CorelDraw X5 (the rest of the newspapers in our company all use Adobe products).
When we get for example, a logo sent to us (also happens with PDF's that are sent to us as well), many times the black is registration black and I need it to be CMYK.
When we PDF the ad to send it for printing the black is on all 4 plates (CMYK) our printer says, drop CorelDraw spend $2000+ and get in design and CS5 and your troubles will go away. I am hoping there is a solution that lets me continue to use CorelDraw as I love this program and do not want to switch.
I installed Corel Draw 12 on a new machine with Vista HP, and I cannot git rid of the registration nag screen. I lost my registration info a long time ago, and have tried the "never register" option, but the nag screen keeps coming up.

I tried Repair (via Control Panel), but it did not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a business card project and I want to put three cards on one pace with crop marks on each card. How can I do it? I only know to put crop marks when saving to PDF or exporting to printer and on one individual element on the page.
I want to have those three cards with crop marks, and on one page.
I have never had to add crop marks to a file for printing. I output to a PDF at full bleed and it gets cut. Period.
Now, on a new project, it has to have the crop marks. Problem is, When I add those, I get marks like the black lines shown in each corner here. Obviously, this is NOT the cut line. The cutline should be more like the ones I have added after the fact in green.
How do I make the marks show up further in to the document (like th green lines) versus showing up at the full bleed's edge?
I'm trying to sort out an issue with the printer marks being set as black (K) in the print separations dialog.
What I'm trying to do is to print separations to pdf to send out to be printed in plates, for this to work I have to set the option "print separations in color" to true, so that the screen angle does not get screwed when the plates are printed. Now my issue here is that all works well just the printer marks are not in the color respective to their plate, they all are black. This will result in the plates other than the black one to not have any printermarks.
Now if there is a way to say set them to registration color or something so they are then printed right it would be great, otherwise I would need to se printer marks by hand which is a bit of a pain.
I've just dicovered by accident that when exporting from cdr to pdf the cropmarks in the upper right corner are placed a bit too far out (see picture). I have the latest CorelDraw version and this happens with every PDF export setting I have, regardless of the amount of crop space I choose.
View 12 Replies View Relatedwhy (sometimes) when I export text or graphics as .eps files to my cutter it cuts the same outline up to four to five times and ends up cutting right through the backing paper. I have been using postcut with various corel editions since 1997 with no problems until recently. It also cuts random lines through lines of text which is such an expensive pain in the ass.
I started to use the production manager in flexi sign to cut my designs and same thing happens, except for the random lines but it will make up to five cuts on some objects. All text and graphics are exported the same. Has something in corel newer versions changed in relation to this?
Often there is a need to make a search & replace for single or double quotation marks since the text might have ordinary (inch and foot marks) and not the prettier "typographic" quotation marks.
A search and replace for this corrects this fast and accurately in version X4, but now in X5 nothing happens. If I change the search to some word, it finds it instantly, but not any quotation marks.
Is it possible to turn off the selection marks which appear after each drawing stroke when drawing in a freehand style with a wacom pen?
I find it very off-putting to my drawing. In Illustrator and Inkscape it is possible to draw freely without constant selection marks appearing after every stroke of the pen.
