CorelDRAW X5 :: Blank Display For Imported DWG File
Aug 15, 2013We have imported a .dwg file from our engineer into CorelDraw 5 under Windows Vista (64-bit). The file appears to import all elements since the layers and objects all appear in the 'Object Manager' docker. We can also select ALL objects and a rectangular marquee or extent shows up on the screen, which is presumably the bounding box for the imported drawing. Unfortunately, there is nothing displayed there (no topo, no streets, no buildings, not anything). We even tried selecting all objects and changing the color to black, but there are so many elements it appears the system will never stop processing or is locked up.
Why our imported .DWG file appears to be there, but displays nothing?
There was a small dot on our screen near the side of the page, just a small spec on the monitor. When we selected the dot and resized it to a full page, there was our complete drawing. However, we do not know why the drawing was imported as just a spec, nor why we had a larger edit marquee that appeared as wide as the page, yet appeared blank.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Display Limited Characters In File Name?
Dec 12, 2011I'm using the trial version of X5 and have noticed that the number of characters that display the file name at the top has been shortened since X3. In some cases I'm not able to even see any of my file name because I have things saved in many subfolders for organizational purposes. It appears that it is limited to about 120 characters, which sounds like a lot, but when using dropbox and other subfolders, can fill up quickly. When I open the same exact file in X3, the name is fully displayed. How to change this? Or is this possibly just a trial version thing? .

Mar 29, 2013Using VB.NET, how to create a new polyline out of existing lines and arcs? I am converting existing VBA code into VB.NET, developing in AutoCAD 2010 using VS Professional and I just stumbled into this road block.
Without using programming code, this task can be accomplished via AutoCAD command by typing the PE command, selecting the JOIN option and then selecting any lines or arcs which should be combined to form a polyline.
Using programming code, however, I am quite stumped on this task. I have been able to successfully create the lines and arcs which should form the polyline, and they are all connected as well so they would form a connected polyline; I simply do not know how to proceed from here.

Oct 3, 2012I was wondering if there was an option to set Inventor to display the full file path for the current file open ? At present I am only seeing a short description of the name of the active file - I wish to see it's full file path similar to what AutoCAD displays.

CorelDRAW X5 :: What Font On Dual Display
Sep 20, 2010In CorelDraw X5 the tool What The Font acts very strange on my dual screen setup. My display shifts left, and I cannot draw a selection around the text as my mouse pointer goes out of sync with my screen.
I have a dual screen set up. Using a Dell 23" LCD running at 2048 x 1152 as my main display, I have a second 19" monitor running at 1440 x 900, so two different screen resolutions. The 19" monitor is located to the left of my main monitor, both a running on DVI ATI Radeon graphics card.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Tooltips Won't Display?
Apr 8, 2013I'm a longtime CorelDraw user (since the 90s), so I generally know what all the tools are... but there are times my mind lapses. Unfortunately, in CDX6 none of my tooltips appear. This is on version 16.3.0.1114 .
CTR+J > Workspace > Display > Show Tooltips has no effect.
Running on Windows 7 Professional x64 with 12GB RAM and NVidia Geforce 480 with latest drivers.

I now need to include an option of displaying the palette (maybe by using a method to include this in the form or by shifting the focus to the coreldraw window/palette) and then the ability for the user to pick colors from this palette (which will then be passed to the script for further processing).

A color shows up different in version 14 [ that is the correct display ] . it is incorrectly being showed in version 12. i've put up screenshots of both versions. CorelDRAW X6 :: Color - Display And Print Not Matching Application
Jul 19, 2012Context - I am brand new to the graphic design business and working with a friend to create a logo for their new business. The logo will be used for web and print purposes.
I am having an issue where the colors used while in the CorelDraw application are not matching the exported files or what comes off the printer. Printer - HP officejet 6500 - using this for a checkpoint only, will not use for actual printing
I created the logo using CMYK color palette and used the default settings in Corel as far as color management goes...It is U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2. The application is still in an "out of the box" state as I am too new to know how to change anything.
So, that said...the image looks great in the application. I exported several proof files for my friend, but see now that I used RGB for the export. He loves the design and I am ready to deliver his files. Those RGB files "look" fine when opened as jpeg or png, but when printed they are completely different.
I've read that it is important to deliver CMYK files as well as RGB files. So, I attempted to export with that color style thinking it might fix that problem, since I created the image using that palette. When I try to export using CMYK though, the color goes absolutely whacko. Viewing on the computer, the muted green (20.0.60.20) turns into a neon green...and it prints that way as well.
I know computer monitors have variations, but if I see it in the application one way, viewing the exported file on the same computer monitor shouldn't pose an issue.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Connect Does Not Display Thumbnails On CD Or DVD
May 22, 2013Corel Connect not showing thumbnails.I have the paid download version of CorelDraw GS X5 installed on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I found that the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension only shows in the CorelDraw installer when "Custom" is selected versus "Typical," even though the shell extension shows in Control Panel. The latest twist is that Corel Connect will show photo thumbnails on the hard drive, but will not show thumbnails for photos on a CD or DVD. Other than a different file structure, a DVD or CD is read only. If I copy a photo from a DVD to the C: drive, Corel Connect will show the thumbnail on C:. Windows Explorer shows the thumbnails on the hard drive, CD, or DVD. Corel Connect will not show thumbnails of the Corel .CDR files on the hard drive, CD, or DVD in Vista but it will show them in Win XP.
Why doesn't Corel Connect display .jpg thumbnails on a DVD or CD? I think there is a bug in the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension in Windows Vista.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Changing Angular Display?
May 14, 2013I'm trying to figure out how to accurately display the current rotation angle of an object in DRAW X6. Based on my drawing precision settings, the angular accuracy is there, but it's not properly displayed.
IE - If I type in 5.05 deg rotation, it will DISPLAY 5.1 but will actually be 5.05.
Is there a way to update the display to show more than one decimal place for rotation?

Previously I had corel x3 now there is problem with the new version of corel the color display is not proper that is the colors yellow appears to be deep yellow in corel x5 where as if I save the file & open it in corel x3 the yellow color appears properly. Apr 7, 2012currently getting by with v11 on winXP..Having a recent problem which I hope one of you can identify. I undoubtedly caused this problem myself by while trying to set up multiple monitors with different screen resolutions, dpi's, font viewing sizes, etc... but now I don't know exactly what setting caused it or how to get back to normal.
Here's the problem - two dialog boxes are displaying very skewed as shown in the screen-shots below. It's only these two dialogs I seem to have trouble with. It's like their popup windows are wrong proportions. No settings I change in my monitor setups seem to correct the situation.

Mar 11, 2013I'm trying to Sign In inside CorelDraw X6 using Help->Sign In. A new windows pop up requesting my email and password. I indicate my credentials and click on "Sign in". But then I get this error: "This program cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes:You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address"
But I am connected to internet. If I click on Account settings it works. The main problem that I have is that for any updates I need to Sign in but I get the same error!

The best I can do is a kluge I don't want to live with. I've been a Corel user for 20 years. Much as I am attached to the program, this makes it virtually unusable. I work with a ton of files. I need to be able to see what they are before opening them.
I'm disappointed to see this problem has been going on for a number of years. It gives me the feeling the good people who built Corel are all gone now, and pride in the product went with them.
I'd love to learn the real honest-to-goodness Corel fix is jist around the corner, but I can't even find an official Corel position on this issue. Is there one? other than

Nov 30, 2012my camera (Canon S95) has a sensor with 4:3 aspect ratio and thus saves all RAW files in this format. Additionally, the camera can automatically create JPGs with a cropped ratio (e.g. 3:2 or 16:9). This is very useful because you can see the target format already on the camera screen (with black bars on top and bottom), which facilitates the composition. However, when processing the photos on the big screen afterwards, it often also facilitates the photo to adjust the ratio a little bit and therefore use the additional information saved in the bigger 4:3 RAW file. This works very well with many of the freely available software tools.
The problem found in Lightroom is now that it only shows the RAW photo in the cropped format and up to know I have found no way to display or use the full RAW format. So my question is: Which settings do I have to change to use the full format? What do I need to change?

Jun 6, 2012display math equations as in-place vector OLE objects in Coreldraw 12.It looks like the Mathtype OLE in CDR saga is still not resolved, even with the latest Mathytype and Corel X5. The option to insert as a bitmap is not at all convenient - one wishes to be able to edit in-place and have vector scalability.
The work-arounds posted in various forums don't seem to work with complex mathematical symbols, adding fonts to the system doesn't seem to work, WMF/EMF also getting messed up, and so on. As Mathtype works flawlessly e.g. in MS Office and Open Office, the question is what is CDR doing...
I recently tried another program, "Aurora" [URL] , which renders *Latex* equations as vector OLE objects - quite nice (there are a couple of other Latex OLE solutions out there, but this one has the options I need). Free trial version.
Aurora supports both vector and bitmap rendering. Vector rendering works perfectly in all programs I tried, except ... Coreldraw. Choosing vector rendering shows some horrible font substitution. I tried adding the Latex fonts to the Windows system, but the problem seems to prevail (and all the other programs, e.g. Word, OO, work fine without doing this). But maybe it is just my version and system configuration.
