How do I maintain links and bookmarks in a PDF? I recently created a multi-page document in X5 with links and exported to PDF. All of the links worked successfully in the resultant PDF.
Yet when I imported the PDF into X6 (and X5) for editing, the links had all gone. I'll need to edit on a fairly regular basis and I don't want to re establish the links (a lot) every time.
I have a question about exporting pdfs from coral (X3) with hyperlinks / bookmarks. I'm trying to prepare a presentation which has to be in pdf. In that presentation I want To attach a menu with links to chapters and basic 'next page', 'prev
page' buttons. As for now I did not succeed to do this in coral : When I export to pdf with applied internet hyperlinks to pages, my pdf reader (acrobat reader) is trying to find an external file rather than skip to a desired page in that pdf. To make this clear enough i attach a simple version of what i want to achieve.
If you noticed that the colour palatte colours in CorelDraw X5 are different to those in Version 10. It is more brighter and also come out much brighter when converted to PNG files.
When I zoomed in the PNG files in Version 10 I can see the small grey dotted on the image colours.
But these dotted not appeared on the PNG files in CorelX5. Is that the reason of different colours bright in X5?
What should I do to maintain the same colours bright of Version10 in X5? This is very compulsory as the PNG files version 10 has been use in the database for many years and I have to maintain the same PNG output after upgraded into X5..
I have a problem. I need to redesign the catalog for a certain company. Actually, it's a minor update, but the previous catalog, only available as a PDF has many clickable links inside it. When I open this PDF in CorelDRAW X5, update it and resave it, the links are gone. Is there a way to import the PDF with links, and save it also with the same links?done yesterday
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a multi page document that contains links to various large tiffs. The filesize of cdr is decent to work with and it preserves them until I publish it to pdf .
Any changes made to document after this operation will increase the document file (at the next save) like the images are embedded , not linked. However, in the links panel still show up as links, but properties of images mention their full resolution instead of a thumbnail size, and working space enhanced view show that.
I tried for test with one page and only one image and confirmed this behaviour.I couldn't find any solution to this and I keep closing the document after publishing and open it again for changes.
I'm reconstructing an old document originally developed with PageMaker. I've recreated a half dozen pages hopefully with more uniform techniques. The original line art for the pages was created in AutoCad and some were scans. To bring them into InDesign some of the art is now in psd format and some of the newer art is in Illustrator AI format.
I've noticed that the pages with photoshop art print pretty quickly (about 30 seconds). The ones with Illustrator art take much longer (about 1:30 seconds). They go through a flattening process.
I print these 50 page books on demand and that additional time would add about an hour.
I guess the question is whether this is normal and to be expected or not. If it is I'll likely turn everything into raster before going into InDesign. That, however, seems like quite a bit of extra work. Going from AutoCad to Illustrator (to add stroke) then to PhotoShop to change to raster and then into InDesign seems like a pretty convoluted work flow.
When I publish to PDF (web setting plus include links) the links do not hold. How to I get the links to stay in the PDF document?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving a problem with a document i created that contains instructions how to use one of our customers application, the document has an index that points to different pages but also a few urls that point to servers or into jboss application servers(long url) when i save the cdr file and export to pdf the links are not always right, the index pointing to top of page 5 now points to a https url and one of the https urls can point to top of page ...
This is rather frustrating since a simple edit requires me to verify all the links, for instance a url that points to a customer internal wiki page is correct in the cdr file but wrong in the pdf.
I have tried different settings for the pdf export but i haven't seen any difference.
I have noticed that links are changed even when i just save the cdr file and reopen it later, not all but some, seems rather random which ones.
Running windows 7 64 bit 4 gig ram, corel draw x5 is updated with sp3, the cdr file contains 29 pages at this point.
trying to figure out a way to use imposition to merge images from multiple pages on to a single page while maintaining a constant element (title block) on the page.
1. Creating a drawing of a sign for client proof/approval
2. Use print merge to create duplicates of that sign on separate pages with the varying messages
3. Use imposition to cluster several signs from the separate pages I now have on to a single page
4. (Problem Step) Figure out how to maintain a title block on my page of now clustered signs
I'm going to attempt to post an image of the page style I want with the title block. What I'd like is what is shown here only with some way to automate it so I can have multiple versions of that sign show up on this same page.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running X6 on Win 8 Pro. I Externally Link a picture into a CD file using UNC naming. I also Externally link using a mapped network drive and a local drive. In none of these can i get the Edit Links option to not be grayed out.
I am using the FIle --> Import --> External Link option to insert the image. I have tried changing the linked image, closing the CD file and the reopening it and it does not update the graphic. I am stuck with the original which is what i do not want.
I have gotten this to work on older versions of CD and have not a clue what is going wrong now.
Sometimes I am working with "heavy" files, images of huge size and when I thrown them to corel it really starts to slow down. My question now is, if I remember correctly there is an option when you import an image to corel it just keeps the path of the image and adds the image on corel on very poor quality just for you to work easily. When you are finished you just make something and the paths of the images are replaced with the originals.Where can I find that option?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA quick question re bookmarks. My normal workflow involves working from one project folder on our server where all the rushes, edl's, artwork etc all reside. I just soft imported the rushes and added a bookmark to that network folder. However when I enter the conform module I have no bookmarks in that menu. Could we make the bookmarks global so that whichever module I am in in smoke I can see the same bookmarks, or at least make it a preference option?

However, if you publish to a multi-sheet .pdf, no bookmarks are created. Is there any way to create multi-sheet .pdf's in AutoCad and have bookmarks automatically inserted (using the name of the layout as the bookmark name)?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just used the help file for the first time in ages and noticed all the links to the graphics are broken hence no diagrams etc. I tried to search out where they are usually stored and it gives some weird Address under properties. It's a vba so suppose it's a database? How do I restore the links without having to do a re-install?
As to the pen: How do you stop the annoying over-the-top predictive curve that happens past the node in the next section after a long drag to form the first curve. i.e. you simply want to draw a straight line after dragging out a curved section previously and you get this unmanageable curve to deal with ?
I have tried numerous times to import from ver3 into ver4 and each time, no matter what I try, I end up with a different look (brightness, contrast etc.) The last time I tried, I reset both 3 and 4 to adobe defaults, then imported 3 to 4 checking none for presets and did not upgrade to image (left the exclamation mark), and the image in 4 looks substantially different that the one in 3. Also, all the sliders are readjusted with this "none" import. They are not at default, which would be zeroed, but all at different settings than the ones in 3. 4's image has less contrast and the color set in the hsl in 3 has been substantially lightened. What am I doing wrong? I read that others can get them into 4 (not upgrading, leaving the exclamation mark) and they are virtually the same rendering.

I open the image in Photoshop, and make a Duplicate.
I close the first image (Not the Copy), and select "NO" for "Do you wish to save changes"
I go back into bridge, and view the RAW file, and though I selected "NO" for changes, the image retains the changes/adjustments made in ACR.
Is there any simple way to return the RAW file to the original state as it appeared prior to ACR adjustments?
The only way I've found to do it is to keep separate files of the original RAW files on another drive.
What is the key combination to maintain proportionality, while resizing an image?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have one wall (basic wall) where !'ve edited to profile to have a large rectagle omitted. I have a second wall (curtain wall) that needs to occupy that space with a 1/2" gap on either side and a 1" gap along the top. I can maintain the gap along the top, but when the gaps along the sides shrinks below 1", the walls meet and the gap is reduced to zero. I've tried making the internal wall into a group, but whenever the outer wall's profile is edited to within 1/2", And I click the Finish button, the interior wall (inside the group) extends to meet it. Automatically Embed is turned off for the curtain wall. I've tried locked dimensions, but that didn't seem to work.
How I can maintain the gap without the walls closing?

When I run the action independently it works fine and saves the file as a .png, when I run this same action as a Droplet it saves the files as .psd. This has worked in previous versions, but I can't figure out why it does not work now. Perhaps something has changed in the File Naming section?
This fails to maintain the .png format in both the Mac and PC versions.
If I change the size of, say, the "file open" box, and shut it down, then open it again, it goes back to the default small size. Is there a setting that I can change so that the dialog box size stay's to my selected size?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several rectangular images each with a drop shadow. I need to also make thumbnails out of the same images. When I tried reducing the sizes of these images, I got inconsistent results regarding the drop shadows. Sometimes they grew, sometimes they got smaller.
Is there a way to reduce the size of images with drop shadows that keeps the shadows looking the same (relatively) as the original size?
