I have a few hundred page CorelDraw document that has one line of text on each page about 6-7 characters long. I need to delete the first 3 characters of text from each line on each page.

If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
I'm trying to delete a middle column from a JPEG of a page of text columns without leaving a blank space where the column used to be. Viewing the page as three rectangles -- the rectangle to the left of the unwanted column, the rectangle containing the unwanted column, and the rectangle to the right of the unwanted column, I want to eliminate the middle rectangle and join the right rectangle directly to the left rectangle.

I have been importing this text for a long time and ever since X5 it is doing odd things. When I select the text to edit it, it highlights all of the text area in a light blue color. Usually I can get one edit done, if I try and select any other part again, Corel crashes and I have to re-open my program. As you can see what I have to edit is these strange characters that show up where the apostrophe's are supposed to be.
I've been in touch with the makers of the program I am importing FROM and they have no idea why I'd be having trouble with their text. They say all they use is Aerial.
For some reason i can no longer copy and paste text from one page to another properly.
I write the text out as normal (not using a text box) but when i copy and then try to past to another page it then does several other things.
It changes the font and cap height, puts it onto a text box and centres it on the page?
If i copy and paste text along with an object (say a simple box) everything copies and pastes perfectly, just not text on its own
I am new to CorelDraw and I have got an issue which might be potentially linked with master page / dynamic text or macros. I have got a multipage template with some text repetition on each page. Unfortunately those text have to be in different position and using different fonts.So setting up master page is not really solution, unless it can be done as above.

Before long I was up to 100 pages, looking fantastic. But then the thought come to me, I have set may page colour to BLACK and all my drawing and text are WHITE as I said looks fantastic until you go to print a page. How much black Ink would you use printing 100 pages black.
SO MY QUESTION IS CAN COREL REVERSE THE LINE ART TO BLACK AND THE PAGE TO WHITE SO I CAN HAVE A PRINTABLE VERSION ?
I have tried publishing to PDF then in acrobat replacing document colours and on screen that works fine but when you print it still prints
With the black background and white text for some reason.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe 'saying' I am trying to create in a spiral format is 165 characters and spaces. I have pasted it into the spiral effects text box. It will only accept 65 characters in the text box.
If I use the circle effect, I can paste all 165 characters and spaces and the circle adjusts to the size where the entire saying fits into one circle.
How do I expand the amount of characters and spaces the spiral text box will accept and use to create the text image I want?
I quite often need a separate ruler scale on each page of a multi-page document. The only way I know how to do this is to create a separate document for each drawing that requires a new scale.
I request that you add the ability to change the ruler scale on a per page basis within a single multi-page document.

Several times a week I need to take a PDF (single-page doc), then convertto a page-sized PNG with quality good enough to read the text (and atransparent border), and then convert to a SWF. I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the most recent patch I'm finding that various characters are being substituted for other characters. No rhyme or reason to the substitutions that I can see. Also, with opentype fonts, end swash characters are being dropped into the middle of words. I didn't have any of these problems prior to installing the patch. Turning opentype options on and off doesn't seem to work.

I find I cannot pick up the additional text by clicking the + sign to place it on the next text cell thus linking text from page to page. Am I missing something or is such a useful facility unavailable in Lightroom? If that's the case, is there a good reason for Lightroom not offering text linking between pages?

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have a long lag whenever I switch from typing english text to chinese characters, and vice versa.
For example, I have two text object: One with english text, another one with a chinese text. Let's say I am currently selecting an english text, can move, can edit.
But when I select chinese text, there's a long lag, like 10-20 seconds of lag before I can move chinese text. By editing the chinese text, there's another long set of lag.
Then, it is smooth to move the chinese text. But, when I select the english text again, there's another set of lag. It's like the program trying to search for something on the background.
This has nothing to do with font types, as they switch pretty easily, but there is a lag when switching between an english font type and a chinese font type.
Is there a way to adjust the kerning between 2 characters of text? I don't want to adjust the kerning of the entire word, just between 2 letters in the word. The font has too much space between the "V" and "A". I've tried using Paragraph Formatting, but that adjusts the entire word.

When opening the attached file and printing it to efi/fiery rip (or adobe pdf), some characters are on top of each other. Word spacing is also to large. Printing the same file with X5 without problem. File is originally created in X5. Tried with the new "update text" feature as well, same issue.

I created text, 2 characters on first line, and then 3 characters on second line. I changed the vertical spacing, so that the characters are overlapping a little. But when I change the blending options for the layer style, I can't get it to look like the link above. I don't want to seperate each character into its own layer.
I'm trying to create 3d text of asian characters. I do:
Create->Text
Set Font to: Meiryo
Set Writing System to: Japanese
Set Text to: イ
Press Create Button
but any Asian character I enter in the text field get converted to a "?" question mark when I press "Create". Is it possible to create Asian text in Maya?
I tried to type some alt characters today when adding text and they didn't work?

I am starting to use LR3 on my iMac (Lion OS)
I noticed that when I search for a filename that contains special characters (e.g. "é" or "ç" or "à"), Lightroom cannot find the word.
So if I look for file petit-dejeuner, LR3 will find it but when I look for petit-déjeuner, LR will not find any picture that contains this word.
I have a lot of pictures with special characters (french)
See picture name below has "déjeuner", it shows in lightroom catalog
When I add "déj" in the text search filter, picture disappears from search results
I'm using the trial version of X5 and have noticed that the number of characters that display the file name at the top has been shortened since X3. In some cases I'm not able to even see any of my file name because I have things saved in many subfolders for organizational purposes. It appears that it is limited to about 120 characters, which sounds like a lot, but when using dropbox and other subfolders, can fill up quickly. When I open the same exact file in X3, the name is fully displayed. How to change this? Or is this possibly just a trial version thing? .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using CorelDRAW 12 with Windows XP. I would like to type Chinese Characters. 1 specific word can't be shown correctly in CorelDRAW 12. It's "焗" and its read as "Ju" in Chinese. I was going to Text > Encode and check whether the word can be shown or not. In fact, in Encode Dialogue I can see the character well, but when I click "OK" and I can't see it. I get only the rectangle or nothing instead.

They were combined, so I had to separate them first. I picked them and used the Break Curve Apart feature. And here's what I got.
All inner contours were GONE! Here's the file.

I have a number of issues with PSP X4. When I try to set text I get outlined characters, and I can't figure out how to get the outlines filled with color. I am selecting solid fonts. I'd like to use the figure in making my own tubes as well as signing my photos.
