adding a page baseline grid! I love it, but I have one problem with it. For example I set the baseline grid to 13 pt, i have text with line spacing specified to 13 pt. I right-click the paragraph text box and select "Align to baseline grid". Then the text surely is aligned to the grid, BUT the lines are spaced to every other line, instead of every line.
View 9 Replies I've used CorelDraw for a couple of years manly for simple newsletters and flyers. My question is concerning the visibility, or in my case, the non-visibility of the baseline grid. First of all my equipment is as follows: Dell Inspiron 620, i5-2320 @3.00 GHz, 8gb Ram 64bit windows 7 home premium with all current updates. I'm using a education version of x6 suite and it's updated to version 16.3.0.1114.
These are the steps I've taken: I created a rectangle within the document and using the layout toolbar I clicked "convert the object to a text frame". With the text box active, I clicked view/grid/baseline grid, but alas, no baseline grid is visible within the text box.
I recently purchased Graphics Suite X5 and find I'm having difficulty in getting an accurate sizing to my text height. When I set the text height to be 3" and then start typing, the letter height comes back to me around 2 1/8". I did find another place to set the height but that is only after I finish my lettering. How to resolve this so I don't re-invent the wheel each time I set the lettering to my designs?
I am also having some difficulty with line spacing. I need line space in inches and the software seems to be set on a pt setting with no way to change it to inches.

through some difficulty I'm having in getting the leading (ie, line spacing) I want with artistic text, in CorelDraw 12? I have three lines of text, the first line of which has a font size of 20 pt, and the second and third lines having a font size of 13 pt. The default leading is greater between the first and second lines than between the second and third -- probably due to the font size difference. I would like to make the leading equal for all lines, regardless of font size, but can't figure out how to do that. "Format Text - Spacing - Lines" seems to offer leading only in relation to character height -- which automatically makes the leading between the first and second line larger (due to the larger font size used in the first line) than it is between the subsequent lines.

View 8 Replies View RelatedUnderstanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.
When someone has pasted text in from microsoft office (word 2010) to a coreldraw x3 text block, I find the line spacing is in points (pt). I seem to be unable to change this to percentage. I'd like to change it to % so that text block matches my others created in coreldraw where linespacing is in %. Is there a way to change it to % once line spacing has become pt?

It seems like this should be ultra simple, and I don't know what I could possibly be doing wrong, but I have text in a Paragraph box and want to simply adjust the line spacing (leading), but no matter what mode I'm in the control does nothing.
I made sure that I wasn't missing a space or a return or something by using select all, I have used all three modes, which will change the spacing as I select a new mode, but changing the value in the spacing box does nothing. I can make it 2 points 100 points, 50%, everything I have tried does nothing at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I place a dimension and have text above and below the dimension line (using X), and then grip edit the dimension text to move it for space/clarity on plans, the text above and below the line will mysteriously move closer to the line. If I have backgrounds applied to the text, which I normally do, the backgrounds will cover the line. Even without the background, it looks odd next to other dimensions that were not grip edited.

I'd like to create sheet notes with different line spacing and paragraph spacing in ACA 2013. When I change before/after Paragraph spacing settings in the Text Formatting window, I get a message reading "please provide a value within range of 1/4" and 4". I'd like to use 1/8" for the paragrpah spacing, which is the same size as the text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am doing a job with columns of donor names (originating from a Word file). Most of the lines space just fine but occasionally there is a 'phantom line' for want of a better term, sort of like I've gone from single spacing to 1.5 or so.
The thing is my paragraph text stats don't change... I highlight good lines - they show as 100%, I highlight the troublesome section, it shows as 100% and there is nothing in the Word file to show that this originated there.
As the job needs to get out the door, I'll just cut out the offending bits, make them artistic text and drop them back in to fit properly. WIth more than a thousand names this is getting pretty old pretty quick.
I have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.

As you can see in the left one, text has its base line under itself, and its bounding box doesn't match its base line. when I use align, it doesn't align using its base line but its bounding box.How can I make text align using their base line easily?
I always use the same 'Home Grid' settings for every project I work on, but can't find a way to save those settings so they'll be automatically loaded when max starts.I even looked through 3dsMax.ini and saw nothing related to grid settings in there.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use a grid to snap a lot(!) of small images into a larger(!) one. That works alright.
Problem: the large image has places the small images need to be snapped into, but they are not spaced an integer number of pixels apart. So the grid slowly wanders off the places as I move over the sheet. The places are 127.5 pixels apart (alternately 127 and 128, I guess). I cannot scale the image up, because the image is already 2.7 GB in size and my computer cannot handle the quadrupled size.
Is there a way to make GIMP accept a non-integer width for grid spacing?
It is absolutely ok if GIMP alternately places the grid lines a pixel shorter and a pixel longer.
Edit: I'm using GIMP 2.6.11, could install another version.
I am designing a website for a developer. he asked for a 1140x960px document built on a grid that is divisable by 12. so thats 95 boxes across.

I learnt that grid spacing in Section Views/Cross Section Sheets is controlled by the Bottom Horizontal Axes minor tick intervals and Left Vertical Axes minor tick intervals in the Section View Style dialog box(see Capture). If this is true what, then, is the function of the grid spacing settings in the "Plot Are" Tab of "Group Plot Style" dialog box (see the other Capture).

When I altered the baseline text, the only thing that happened was the text moved upwards, but did not adjust the actual baseline. This does not occur when aligning objects, nor text with an object.This only occurs (as far as I can tell) when aligning two or more sets of text alone.
When I enter the align and distribute window the vertical align checkboxes are greyed out with "Top" selected.
It is not possible to uncheck or select any other vertical align option. It is possible to "force" the window to deselect it by selecting "top" in the distribute tab, but this does not make the align options selectable again.
You can workaround this by creating a temporary object to align with your text.

I'm creating a picturebook with text. So when I export / or save for web, I'll be turning the vector art and text as an image. My understanding is that using ATPG will eliminate the jagginess of the text that would occur, when it becomes an image, if I did not use ATPG.And conversely, if I don't use ATPG, the text will be jaggy when exported to jpg or png. Is this correct?
