When I have a group of objects selected and I go to create a boundary around the entire thing to use as a cut line, sometimes parts of the group are excluded. I made sure all of the objects were on the same layer and that everything was indeed selected, but nothing I do seems to make a difference.

Example. I want to create a boundary of the doughnut hole; not the outside of the doughnut.
Let's say I have a letter 'B' and I want to create an outline on the outer boundary only and not the inner boundary i.e. the two small 'D', how can I achieve that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on a project where I have a photo of a white object with three parts. I have defined each of the parts on seperate layers. Now, I have to change the color (of all 3 parts) to about 20 different colors, and save each of the 3 elements, by itself on a transparent background, as each of the 20 colors. So, this one photograph should yield me 60 jpegs. (can jpeg have a transparent BG, or do I need to save as a different web-friendly format?)
I need to repeat the same process for about 6 additional photos/objects... hopefully recreating the EXACT same colors I did on the first photo.
I have created a surface from a corridor. I set the boundary of the surface to the daylight of the corridor. In some areas of the corridor the surface does not triangulate see attached.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a scan of a pencil sketch as my background image. What I want to do is convert to colour image then, eventually, lose the pencil lines. For starters I would like to know how to flood fill an area with colour then get rid of the area's boundary line. I guess a valid solution might be along one of the following lines:
1. Flood fill, depositing the colour in one layer but using a boundary line in a different one.
2. Copy the sketch to another layer, fill the areas then somehow delete the lines.
3. Flood fill in one layer then copy the block of colour only, not the surrounding line, and paste into another layer. Any suggestions? As of a week ago I'd never used Photoshop so don't assume I know anything.
If there is a way to create a horizontal guide line that will stop at the next vertical guide line instead of going all the way across your template? If not, how would I submit that as something new to add to the next program coming out....it would be great to have that as an option when setting up your guide lines.

Why is the scale of my Detail Boundary line different than my Section Line scale? I have set the global line scale so that hidden and section lines look OK, but the detail boundary line spaces are so close that it prints as a continuous line. I am using the same line weight and line type for both detail and section lines.
Is it possible to create a custom stroke that doesn't scale to the length of the line you assign it to? I am trying to create a stroke that looks like a chain but when I create a custom brush, I have to almost create the brush pattern the same length as the stoke it gets applied to in order to avoid the chain links bunching up or being grossly stretched out along the assigned path.
Is there a setting or some other function that can accomplish this? Is there an easy way to assign a shape to along a path other than blend?
In the end I want to be able to assign a premade pattern to a line without that pattern being distorted or scaled along the path it is assigned to.
I want to create a line that looks like a set of railroad tracks - two rails and ties - or a single track with ties half as long as the 2 rail tracks would be.
I want to be able to use it the same as the lines that are installed with CDR 12 - scalable, editable points, curving, extend the length by pulling an end point, set point size , etc.
Basically anything I can do to and with an installed line, I want to do with my custom one.

I'm using the line tool but when I drag to create a line the line appears but then when i click to create another line it disappears.
I have problem with corridor surface boundary , in curve boundary line is jumping on daylight fill , but i have created surface on wearing layer ,also when i am adding boundary there is only 3 types of adding , corridor extends , polygon and interactively , photo attached.

I have problem with medians ( Both MedianRaisedWithCrown and MedianRaisedConstantSlope) when crossing center line ( i.e whole median has to cross the center line).
I have median that goes along the centerline and it has to move to left completely ( whole median is on left side of the centerline) to cater for left turn. I tried with MedianRaisedWithCrown and MedianRaisedConstantSlope but it did not workout for me.
I used alignment ( for cl ) and offset alignments for median edge and etw. I have problem when the median edge ( offset alignment ) cross the center line and continues. I can see etw and median feature line shifts.
i need to know if there is any way to control the points in the point cloud.
1. either only import the point cloud in a polyline area i specify
2. add all the points within a boundary not limited to the pointclouddensity = 100, freaking default is 15 almost cost my job today. extremely stressed out right now.
i am talking about extreme lidar surveys. 1km 1km LAS/0.5m contours/xyz files times 355 of them. covers a 2km wide corridor. but i only need 100m wide after i define the road alignment. no need to have all the extra points.
right now i densify the heck out of it and end up like 5-12m points. decent but not good enough because the geotech is bitching about that accuracy is not good for some feasibility study. or is there any software i can do this besides civil 3d.
what i want can also do is automate the 'add points to surface" under point cloud and have the software do multiple boundaries without having me baby it over the night. right now every click is 5 minutes and adds like 400k to 1 million points. Civil 3D 2012
I am not sure exactly why this is a limited feature of Inventor 2011 but when you want to select a sketch to create a boundary patch you have to select each part of the sketch in sequence. It's a pretty laborious task. I am looking to a way to automate this using i logic.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on making a lens profile and the instructions are pretty annoying as they require the calibration chart to remain in the same spot while you tilt the camera as well as move the camera around to make sure that you are tilting the camera to bring the calibration chart close to a side of the frame but not clipping it and also staying within an angle of 10-30 degrees.
This seems overcomplicated, instead, why cant adobe make a single calibration grid where the camera is positioned in such a way that it fills the entire frame as much as possible without clipping, then it simply corrects using the single chart.
With the way it is now, unless you have the camera on a computer controlled dolly and computer controlled head, you will not be able to make a completely accurate lens profile.
Is there any free macro or any script in this forum to convert all the outlines (in a document or page) to objects .
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used a 2d polyline to create a surface boundary for a surface created. The polyline is a closed loop. For the boundary type it is outer, unchecked Non-destructive breakline, and mid-ordinate distance = 1.
My problem is that when I do this I only get a small portion of the surface to show up within my surface boundary. If I don't have a surface boundary the entire drawing surface shows up no problem.
The purple polyline is my boundary and the light blue is the surface created within the boundary.
