For example, if my wall section is cropped in to a L shape that includes the footing. Can the callout boundary looking like an L shape as well instead of a big wide rectangle?
Quick easy way to change the default insertion size of the section and callout heads. They're too large.

I did find the DIMJOGLINE command and that will be great for the dimensions but what about the other stuff, do we have to do that with a block or draw the thing, if that's the case what are you doing to handle this?

Why is the scale of my Detail Boundary line different than my Section Line scale? I have set the global line scale so that hidden and section lines look OK, but the detail boundary line spaces are so close that it prints as a continuous line. I am using the same line weight and line type for both detail and section lines.
I have some sections and am using the break line with a masked region but in Revit 2013 the masked region only works in the Wireframe Graphics display option. It does not work in the Hidden Line display. It was fine in 2012

The block is fine; all I need to do is to change the material type in the callout. I am using the C3D flared end section with modified text in the callout. Where to I go to change the definition?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I continue my learning of AutoCad on the PC after having been a Mac CAD (non-AutoCad) user for 15+ years, another question has cropped up. My boss wants the circular "heads" of the elevation and sectional callouts to be smaller on the finished drawings. How can I control (or override) the default size of these? Or do I need to override on a case by case basis? I've searched these and other forums and what I am getting a sense of is that AutoCad controls those sizes pretty tightly so they remain annotative and AutoCad sets them at the size it thinks they should be and changing that size is not a simple process.

1) How do I keep a section line from showing up in two different elevations:....have a section line in east elev.....it shows up in same spot in west elev.....but the view is the east elev....only want to see section line in east elev?
2) While looking at my west elevation, I can see things in the east elev, which is 100' apart.....how do I keep from seeing(and selecting!) things in the east elev while looking at the west elev?
I would like the section line to have a special line type and color. How can this be changed?

I am picking the scale and the picking a View in the "Reference other view" pulldown. The callout labels do not fill in. Just "-". The View I am referencing is a Callout View from a Section already called out on a sheet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI needed to remove a feature line that I used as a break line when creating a surface. When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?
I have an FDO layer which I am styling like so:
Concat ( FDO_LAYER1, Concat ( '
', FDO_LAYER2 ) )
This layer is styled so that all text is centered. In this case, FDO_LAYER2 is having it's text left aligned. I'm pretty sure this is due to the method I am using for a new line. Is there something else I can use to break the line and maintain the center styling?
Using a second point for FDO_LAYER2 is not an option.
I draw a curved line and would like it to remain as a curved line even after saving the file. However everytime after saving, and opening the file again, the curve breaks into many line segments, which is not what I want! I want the curved line that I draw to remain as a curved line even after saving and opening. How do I do that? I am using autocad2010.
I use the ARC command to draw a couple of lines, they look okay here. But after I saved it, and re-open it again, what previously appeared as curved lines changed in their appearance to polyline segments.
how to break diameter line into horizontal line at the end ?... there's no such option in editor style (I want to have 2 arrows for this diameter, not one as it is in editor options)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm been unable to find what controls the display of the boundary of a section (volume type) object. A section object that does not show it's boundary, when copied to another file shows the boundary.
Same layer states, visual styles, and other setting between both files. There must be some setting I'm overlooking... but a search of the so-called help file was not very informative.
I have a view of an assembly where I used a break out to break through a part. I want to make a section of this, and have that view respect that the part was broken and show it as broken in the new view.
The section view shows the full part 100% unbroken. In the edit view, the only option for cut inheritance is "break". All others are greyed out.
Why I want to do this: I am unable to break it in the section view because there is no option to break through a single part a specified distance. I cannot break an area "from point" or "to sketch" because they don't let you choose a single part for the effect, and the parts completely included in the break out this way are not going to show up in the parts list, so you cannot adjust their section participation, therefore I also cannot just break an area and then choose what parts don't get the effect.
I made a bunch of cross sections of an EG surface and want to define an elevation label at each significant grade break. I see an option to weed by distance but no option that would allow me to place a label at where the slope changes by more than a certain percent.
I found this old thread from three years ago and the best solution to come out of it was deleting individual labels.

I want that a section parallel and through a threaded hole will show the double lines of the thread.
Now only a hole is shown

View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically the question is if it is possible to explode families similar to blocks in AutoCAD.
Here is an example: A Family made for placement in the model has 2 nested families. Once placement is done is it possible to eliminate the initial family so only the nested families remain? All the parametric values can go away that’s fine and the nested families are also shared if that matters.
Since I come from AutoCAD and started with Revit v2012 it is basically like a block within a block which you could just explode so much until only lines are left.
I have to break a line/polyline with a known distance around a point of the line. I was thinking of creating a circle with a specific radius and then trim the line inside the circle, then delete the circle but I could not find how to use trim in .net.
