May 9, 2011For some reason Corel will not let me select an object and move it with my mouse, I can only move an object with arrow keys.

CorelDRAW X6 :: Update Outline Width After Resizing Object If Scale With Object Selected
Dec 14, 2013Resizing objects is a mess in CorelDRAW X6 when objects are outlined with Scale With Object enabled to retain proportions after resizing.
None of the tools dealing with outlines (e.g. Contour or even Outline itself) continue to work properly after resizing the object.
I strongly suggest to recalculate outline property values after resizing if Scale With Object is checked. Don't just do it hidden somewhere internally in the object model by applying a temporary scaling factor. Instead actually recalculate the actual property values if Scale With Object is checked.

GIMP :: Moving Selected Area Versus Moving Selection / Moving Whole Image
Mar 22, 2012I want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
CorelDRAW X4 :: Can't Move Or Rotate Selected Object
Mar 14, 2012My CorelDRAW has just developed a glitch - I can select objects but not move them (other than by using the nudge button) and if I click twice on the object it doesn't change the nodes to allow me to rotate - weird and seriously difficult to do any work in the programme. I've tried turning the computer off and on again and have tried the default setting.

when I click on an object from the object manager... then I want it at the top of my drawing
so I hit Shift+PageUp
(or Ctrl+PageUp)
instead of working... it takes me to "Page 1" at the top of the object manager
HOWEVER, if I click on the thing from the canvas, it works...
this is a silly bug... the whole point of me selecting it from the object manager is so I don't have to hunt for it... because it's UNDER some other stuff.
... that's why I want it shifted to the top of the layer.
As far as I know this problem is reproducible... I'm using a circle and it's under a bunch of stuff like rectangles. I can be more specific if necessary, but it's pretty basic.

Ability to pretty much work in infinity working area, why is it that we are constrained only to page area to cycle objects forward and back of other objects, why is it that I can move my logo behind bitmap within the working area but quite often can not do the same outside the working area.
it always disrupts the workflow, sometimes it seems to work when you oversave then for some reason I can move that object behind that bitmap, sometimes there are instances where I am unable to do that unless i completely restart corel draw... is that productive ?? ,
Why is it that this had not been addressed yet, I remember this being an issue I believe since corel 11 or perhaps even farther.

Feb 19, 2012In a new CS5 I didn't meet this problem, but since I have to work on CS3 (Windows) for a while, When I select a layer in a layer panel and then I want to move it with a move tool, in my earlier experience the selected layer in panel was moved, despite the point from which I start to drag.
Now, if I select layer1, but start to drag in a window when pressing on layer0 (it's too hard to pick slim lines of layer1), it "forgets" that I selected layer1 and drags layer0.

Click the name of the desired layer in the Layers panel. Then choose Object > Arrange > Send To Current Layer. Drag the selected-art indicator , located at the right of the layer in the Layers panel, to the layer you want. But method #2 doesn't work at all for me. In fact, the cursor doesn't even change when I mouse over the selected-art indicator dot.
Paint.NET :: Moving Selected Item Automatically Leaves Checker Board Pattern On Image
May 25, 2011I just got a new computer (Windows 7) and I don't like the default "Paint" program that comes with it. I've been using the Windows XP paint program for a long time and Paint.Net was the closest thing I could find to it.
I don't use Paint to edit photos or create super detailed artwork. I use it to draw little things (the image size is usually 50x50 or 100x100 pixels) and zooming in to 400%-800%. I've used paint.net a few times but I was wondering if there was a place in the program that would let me set preferences. It would just save a little time making it more convenient and less frustrating.
These are the things that I would like to change:
1: When moving a selected item it automatically leaves a "checker board" pattern on the image. It's relatively easy to fix with the "Paint Bucket" tool. Though if there was an option to make it only leave the default area white it would be a time saver.
2: When moving a selected item it will automatically replace the image beneath where you place it. In the Windows XP program there was an option to either replace an image or to replace all other colors except white (255green+255red+255green on the custom color spectrum). Is there an option like that in this program?
3: After moving a selected image (using the "rectangle select" tool then the "move selected pixels" tool) is it possible to simply de-select the selected image without having to click on the "rectangle select" tool and right clicking? In other words, being able to move an image, deselect the image, then automatically return the tool to "line" tool?
4: While using the "Line/Curve" tool the 4 click and drag points automatically appear on it to make it "curve-able" so is there a way to just leave it as a solid line without those 4 selectable points appearing?
5: Is there a way that I can make "Line Tool" my default cursor instead of pencil?
Photoshop :: Over Spray On Selected Object?
Jul 6, 2012Sometimes I get an overspray on a selected object. The object is selected and then inversersed. The object is then setup to be painted on the outside. I select a hard brush @ 100% and start painting..like I said it will be ok until I get to certain portion and I get like an overspspray. I have the setting on 0 feather on the marque tool, but there is no other setting on other tools for feathering. The object is in the regular ps mode and is not layered.. "how do selected an object to insure that I do not get any paint on the inside"...Are there more adjustment I can make that I do not see.

Jul 23, 2013Question about Xara Extreme 5. When I click on an object, there are a bunch of square dots around the outsite. When I use the pencil tool to go from one dot to another dot, waiting for the ~ to appear, Xara "sometimes" removes the "little" piece I am trying to remove... but other times, removes 90% of the object, keeping the tiny piece of the image (I am trying to remove). Is there a trick or shortcut so that Xara ALWAYS removes the smaller section? I thought that it would be, if you are selecting a piece (i.e. 10% of the selected image), it would remove it... but nope, sometimes it keeps the 10% and removes the 90%. Very frustrating and obviously I do not understand the use of this tool.

Feb 18, 2014In 3dsMax 2014 I have noticed that when you select an object it will display it's wireframe. You use to be able to cycle through the F3 and F4 combinations to show/hide this wireframe however it does not appear to work in 3dsMax 2014.

Jun 26, 2013Ok so in previous version if you have an object selected, and hit F4, ( to urn on and off Wireframe display). you could have and object selected, without wireframe showing, or showing if you prefer.
This option seems to have been removed, or moved in 2014.
