CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Text Jumping When Selected?
Feb 1, 2011I've noticed an odd issue when we upgraded from X4 to X5. On an identical document when we select a text block, in X5 the block "jumps" up and to the left by about 10 pixels. Below is a video of this peculiar behavior. X5 shown on the left, X4 shown on the right. Both documents are identical.

Here is a free macro which saves a little time. It creates an inner shadow on one or more selected shapes. There are a few presets on the macro and if you want to adjust the transparency slightly, click the undo arrow, adjust the transparency and then reapply.

Jun 9, 2010I'm getting error "Either is not importable using the selected filter, or this format is not supported" while trying to open a Corel Draw file I received from someone in X3.I read through the posts and can understand only that this could be a Corel Version problem. Based in this I've two questions.
Q1) How to get around this error and successfully open that .cdr file in X3?
Q2) How to determine which version of CorelDraw was used to create this file?

Dec 9, 2012Is there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Is it a bug? I tried it with X6, X6.1 and X6.2

Aug 23, 2013I have finished my works using only one layer( a bad habit I know) and now I need to export them as PSD, and as You know it needs Layers so it can be editable on Photoshop.
I know the fact that I should import all the objects in single Layers, ie creating thousands of Layers for all the work, new layer for each object I import.
But is there any option for easy extraction of objects into single layers, one click option or much easier than going individually through each of them?
If not available, this type of option would work for CorelDRAW or any vector program, be really more effective and stay in touch with the requirements of the industry, especially when it comes, on creating vectors for web or apps.
Photoshop :: How To Flip A Path Vertically Or Horizontally
Apr 10, 2012I'm just getting to grips with paths.
I have created a path, which I want to copy, then flip the copy in the vertical axis, then join it onto the original, yeilding a path that is vertically symmetrical.
I can create the path OK, and I've figured out how to copy it.
BUT .... when I go to Edit > Transform Path ... the flip vertical and flip horizontal options are greyed out.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm using CS4 Extended v11.0.
Photoshop :: Can't Choose If Want To Tile Vertically Or Horizontally As Before?
Oct 25, 2012I use tile on 95% of my jobs. It is a waste of space when I tile all vertical pictures because I do not have the choice of Tile Vertically or Tile Horizontally as on previous version of Photoshop.
I tried the different choices offered on "arrange document" and there is non with the vertical choice, unless you choose one that displays my photos some on one size and the remaining or two or three remaining, a different size to fill up the screen.

Feb 2, 2014Is there a way to align more than 2 objects either horizontally or vertically? I've used the ALIGN command and I can't get it to work. I get a message that says something like: "all 3 destination points are colinear".
I can get it to work if I'm just aligning two objects.
For instance, say you have four boxes, scattered around model space, and you want to align the left edge of three of them to the left edge of the fourth box, without moving them vertically. In other words, can you "left justify" all four boxes?

So if I choose BREAKH, the vertical lines that I choose would break any horizontal lines that cross them. Same applies to BREAKV. Hopefully I communicated clearly enough.

Dec 27, 2011I have a logo which appears in the footers of all of our technical manuals. Word recognizes it as a picture, and so our printer prints it in color, not black and white, so we are charged for the color copies.
I have exhausted my options in Word, and have been trying to create it as a TrueType font in DRAW, so word just thinks it's a symbol, not a picture.
The only file I have of the logo is a .bmp, so I've been tracing it to get it into vector form to manipulate. However, after all of my welding, combining, front minus back ect. ect. ect., I still can't get it down to the "1 object" requirement to make it a font.

Using the grafic text, it aligns directly on/ over the outline of the oval shape. But I won't have the whole text in a round - I just want to have the paragraph's left side to be aligned/ positioned at the outer shape of the oval.
