In 3dsMax 2014 I have noticed that when you select an object it will display it's wireframe. You use to be able to cycle through the F3 and F4 combinations to show/hide this wireframe however it does not appear to work in 3dsMax 2014.
Is there another way (besides the F3 + F4 hotkeys) to disable this wireframe on the selected object?
Software: Autodesk 3dsMax 2014 - Service Pack 3 (64-Bit)
Ok so in previous version if you have an object selected, and hit F4, ( to urn on and off Wireframe display). you could have and object selected, without wireframe showing, or showing if you prefer.
This option seems to have been removed, or moved in 2014.
I recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.
I've recently installed AutoCAD 2014 and noticed when I try to select objects behind a solid (in wireframe) it will select the face of the solid and I am not able to select any objects behind that solid. In the past, while in wireframe, I wasn't able to select a solid unless an edge was selected. Now if I click on a face it will select that item, which is not allowing me to select anything behind it. Is there a variable to change the way a solid is selected while in wireframe?

The /nologo switch is for a different screen. Need per user or prefer per computer registry setting to turn off the Welcome Screen.
Thought it was InfoCenteron key,set to 0, but that was not it.
Thought it might be MC3 key, but not there either.
Is there a way that the Info Center is not available ? Registry ? XML confoguration ?
It is possible to disable the communication center, but the for whole Info center I can find no way ?
We have installed Inventor on 1000 client WS and the INfo center is not needed ?

Resizing objects is a mess in CorelDRAW X6 when objects are outlined with Scale With Object enabled to retain proportions after resizing.
None of the tools dealing with outlines (e.g. Contour or even Outline itself) continue to work properly after resizing the object.
I strongly suggest to recalculate outline property values after resizing if Scale With Object is checked. Don't just do it hidden somewhere internally in the object model by applying a temporary scaling factor. Instead actually recalculate the actual property values if Scale With Object is checked.

In CS6, when you apply an effect that somehow expands the appearance of an object, for example by making multiple clones, all of these clones become selectable. If you click on or drag-box an area that includes these clones, the original object will be selected.
is there a way to make CS6 only select an object if I click on the original vectors?
I've been using Maya for over a year and I've starting seeing some weird error. In edit mode, I select a couple of verts. I can transform, rotate, and scale the verts relative to the selection's center. However, recently whenever I want to scale my selected verts the scaling origin goes to the center of the object instead of the selection. This becomes somewhat irritating since it doesn't give the expected results. I've included a few pictures demonstrating my problem.

Every time I step-backwards, or make a significant change to the bump texture (smart object?), CC auto-saves the layer. This specific file is a very very large document (3 gigs in the bump texture layer alone), and the 3D layer has lots of lights and is very complex.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes I get an overspray on a selected object. The object is selected and then inversersed. The object is then setup to be painted on the outside. I select a hard brush @ 100% and start painting..like I said it will be ok until I get to certain portion and I get like an overspspray. I have the setting on 0 feather on the marque tool, but there is no other setting on other tools for feathering. The object is in the regular ps mode and is not layered.. "how do selected an object to insure that I do not get any paint on the inside"...Are there more adjustment I can make that I do not see.

When I use the pencil tool to go from one dot to another dot, waiting for the ~ to appear, Xara "sometimes" removes the "little" piece I am trying to remove... but other times, removes 90% of the object, keeping the tiny piece of the image (I am trying to remove). Is there a trick or shortcut so that Xara ALWAYS removes the smaller section? I thought that it would be, if you are selecting a piece (i.e. 10% of the selected image), it would remove it... but nope, sometimes it keeps the 10% and removes the 90%. Very frustrating and obviously I do not understand the use of this tool.
