I'm using Revit 2013 and recently installed the Update Release 1. After the Update I am running into an issue when I selct any element, my screen flashes 2-3 times and then the element is automatically moved to the North. It's as if every time I select an item it defaults to offset.
View 2 RepliesI just got a new computer (Windows 7) and I don't like the default "Paint" program that comes with it. I've been using the Windows XP paint program for a long time and Paint.Net was the closest thing I could find to it.
I don't use Paint to edit photos or create super detailed artwork. I use it to draw little things (the image size is usually 50x50 or 100x100 pixels) and zooming in to 400%-800%. I've used paint.net a few times but I was wondering if there was a place in the program that would let me set preferences. It would just save a little time making it more convenient and less frustrating.
These are the things that I would like to change:
1: When moving a selected item it automatically leaves a "checker board" pattern on the image. It's relatively easy to fix with the "Paint Bucket" tool. Though if there was an option to make it only leave the default area white it would be a time saver.
2: When moving a selected item it will automatically replace the image beneath where you place it. In the Windows XP program there was an option to either replace an image or to replace all other colors except white (255green+255red+255green on the custom color spectrum). Is there an option like that in this program?
3: After moving a selected image (using the "rectangle select" tool then the "move selected pixels" tool) is it possible to simply de-select the selected image without having to click on the "rectangle select" tool and right clicking? In other words, being able to move an image, deselect the image, then automatically return the tool to "line" tool?
4: While using the "Line/Curve" tool the 4 click and drag points automatically appear on it to make it "curve-able" so is there a way to just leave it as a solid line without those 4 selectable points appearing?
5: Is there a way that I can make "Line Tool" my default cursor instead of pencil?
Having trouble moving objects between layers by simply dragging the right-hand dot to a new layer? CS6 won't let me drag the dot on any kind of selected art from any kind of file I've tried..
Click the name of the desired layer in the Layers panel. Then choose Object > Arrange > Send To Current Layer. Drag the selected-art indicator , located at the right of the layer in the Layers panel, to the layer you want. But method #2 doesn't work at all for me. In fact, the cursor doesn't even change when I mouse over the selected-art indicator dot.
I want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
I am using Revit Architecture 2013 and I have a few different design options for the mian level of a house I am working on. I have the North wall of the house in a design option for the living room at the moment. But I have decided I no longer want that wall in the my living room option, I would like to move it to my kitchen design option so I am able to move a window that is located on that wall. I cannot seem to find a way to move a wall from one design option to another or have it in both if it is already part of a design option. How I can get this wall and the windows located on it into my kitchen design layout without having things being double counted in the schedules?

For no reason that I can think of, When I click on a single image in Bridge to preview or to try and select multiple images to load as layers or merge to HDR, the first image clicked opens in ACR. How can i Stop this?

If I go to another photo, it leaves one of the previous photos selected and also selects the second photo. I've tried restartting Lightroom, restarting Windows 8.1, all to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn a new CS5 I didn't meet this problem, but since I have to work on CS3 (Windows) for a while, When I select a layer in a layer panel and then I want to move it with a move tool, in my earlier experience the selected layer in panel was moved, despite the point from which I start to drag.
Now, if I select layer1, but start to drag in a window when pressing on layer0 (it's too hard to pick slim lines of layer1), it "forgets" that I selected layer1 and drags layer0.
For some reason Corel will not let me select an object and move it with my mouse, I can only move an object with arrow keys.

I have a simple electric switch block (a line with an S over it), that in some cases is enclosed by a simple rectangle. When the switch is enclosed, I'd like the attribute to move further, to keep the spacing the same.
Is there a way to make the attribute move automatically with the display of the rectangle, maybe through some combination of Linear Move parameters, Visibility parameters, and a formula?
I have Lightroom place images in folders on import according to date taken, e.g. 2011 -> 12 -> 31 -> 2011 12 31_001.jpg.
Since importing a lot of images, I have changed their metadata dates due timezone issues or camera dates set wrong. So a photo imported in 2011->12->31 actually now belongs in 2012->01->01. How do I get Lightroom to automatically go through my whole catalogue and move them? I don't mind if all my files get renamed. I though of removing them all from my catalogue and the re-imprting, but won't that lose all my edits?
I'm experiencing a strange problem in Elements 10:
When I'm in a new file, if I go file-place and select an image it automatically tints the image into black and white. I recently used this option in the program and it almost seems like the function is stuck!?
My only option now is to re-install the software.
how do I move select parts of text? I have a "B" and a "G" that I put into Illustrator using the text tool. When I go to move the "G" onto the lower corner of the "B", it selects both letters and moves them as a block.

How to create a lisp to automatically export attributes from selected blocks to defined txt file without having to everytime confirm the file name, location and if the file shall be replaced?
Meaning is that I often export attributes to txt file for further use. It is always the same file (I just overwrite it always).
The way I do it now is selecting blocks, using ATTOUT command, then going to the desktop, selecting ATT.txt file and confirming that it is to be replaced.
Is there a way to make lisp or script that will just do all it in at once?
I found on forum such a lisp as below, but it exports all ablocks on drawing and it exports to txt file which is located in same place as drawing and with same name as drawing. Tried to modify it but without success:

I've inherited a dozen heavily detailed drawings only they have been drawn freehand and do not conform to any snap mode or grid. Unfortunately the objects are not all out by a certain amount, so to adjust the entire drawing to conform to the nearest snap point I need to pretty much go through every single object and snap it to the nearest point, which will take weeks.
I've googled around a bit and have found a lisp that may potentially work however I'm running 2004 LT so therefore can't test this lisp until I find someone with a full version.
I'm sure I can find someone with a full copy of Autocad even if it means borrowing their computer just to re-align the objects. I've yet to test out the lisp I found [URL] .... although this lisp seems to suggest it will work with text objects, unfortunately my drawings include a range of objects including text, rectangles, plines etc.
I've taken a look at DotSoft's 'ToolPac' and will buy it if needed as it will apparently align all objects to the nearest snap, but I thought I'd check to see if there was any other easier/cheaper ways of doing it first.
In my company we are just beginning to use Civil 3D and we are experimenting with different features and trying to compete with Microstation. A big chunk of our time (80% more or less) goes into labeling lines and objects. I sat down with a MicroStation guru and they showed me how MicroStation automatically creates labels throughout different viewports and it has a feature to prevent them from overlapping.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running autocadlt and opening up a very detailed drawing by an architect which was likely drawn on the most recent version of the autocad. When i go to select a certain area of the plan, elevation views appear in the background as i drag my selection with the mouse. The elevation views are not visible in the plan in the model space. All layers are on and unfrozen.
I am a surveyor and am trying to import the plan into my survey program (which only accepts files in autocad 2007 or earlier anyway). When I open the file in the survey program, for some reason the elevation views are showing and can not be turned off.
I tried to use the command erase, then "all" it tells me "2891 objects found, 19 not in current space". Does that have anything to do with it?
I have gone into the layer manager and selected all the layers and turned them on, and have unfrozen them
Did the proxygraphics command as well
Could it be because autocadlt???
When working with large plant layouts I sometimes need to copy may things from different parts of the plant. Some large some small. When I zoom in to select the smaller objects i have lost lots of objects that were selected before.

I cannot move anything I select. I try to drag it and it makes the "bump" noise.
-I made sure that my preferences are not set to "object selection by path only".
-I've restarted my computer several times
-I tried to open a previous Illustrator file and I have the same problem
-I even uninstalled and reinstalled my entire Abode Suite beacuse I've been having several issues
I'm not sure if this is related but I also can't create a new document unless I use picas and CMYK coloring. It refuses to adjust to anything other than the default settings. Also, I can't increase the stroke of an object unless I type in the number, meaning I can't use the arrows for adjustment.
Is there any way to Export Selected Objects in Illustrator? I am working on a website sketch and i will need to include things outside the frame. When i select Export (or save as PDF) even if i have all objects selected i just get the JPG with the A4 paper.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently started a trial for a program called PDF2CAD, the test file I converted worked fine. Everything is selectable and editable. When I move something it does show up while moving/copying. However, when I make additions to the drawing, text for example, and try to move/copy it it does not show up while moving.
PDF2CAD converted the PDF to a DXF format, which I then saved as a DWG.

I'm working on this massive architecture scene and i'm trying to move some rather small braided steel cable in the scene when i go to move it the objects moves in rather big increments instead of small ones. I check to see if snaps was on and its not, on what i can do to can more precision over my placement of these cables.

I just started on the roof of the round house I'm working on. I use spacing tool to copy shingles around but now I'm thinking is there an easier way. This takes time. Can you think of any? I was always missing one "tool" in MAX and I think there probably is one. You know when you select many objects and use scale to scale them all (using one center, not each owns), and the objects move as if they are pieces of explosion or implosion (towards or away a centre). But also, they change size of course. Is there a tool or a way to just MOVE the objects this way? Away or towards each other but not scale them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to set precision to 3 decimal places which is in millimeters in my case. That is enough for the building industry. Recently, I found out a co worker worked on my drawing while I was on vacation. Something seem out of place, so I set the precision to 8 decimal places and noticed everything is off by a bit. In general, 0.00000002 isn't going to affect the project, but it just bugs me a lot. I spent hours lining everything up perfectly, just to find out most objects shifted again by a tiny bit after 2 days.I tested out a few lines by fixing them in the block editor and saving it. But everything I reedit them, they shifted again.I asked the co-worker if he remember what he did, but couldn't come up with a solution.

It seems like a simple task but i work with some people that can't handle simple things like that, so aside from trying to find new co-workers, what can i do?
