How do I make my text curved on the bottom and flat on top? I have used the fit to path feature for the bottom curve, but I need the top of the word to stay flat.

The window for editing won't go all the way down. I have tried expanding the window and when I am
expanding it, I can see the bottom line of text but when I let go of the corner it reverts back to showing everything but the bottom line.

Attached you will find 2 screen shots. One of them is from the "Folded Model" (Take note of the View Cube)
The other is from only Pressing the "Go to Flat Pattern" Button and being in "Flat Pattern" viewing mode (Note the Cube)
I need the Flat Pattern View to correspond with the Orientation of the Folded Model.

My goal here is to take the curved surfaces of the Loft object & retrieve a flattened profile of the face.
1 profile per face is the final goal - not one completely flattened profile.
I have been practicing my modeling technique and decided to create a faceted round gemstone model. I started with a 16 sided cylinder and manipulated the vertices until I had my model. However, it is supposed to be a round gemstone and not one with 16 flat sides. Everything worked as far as creating all of the facets except in the "girdle" area. This is the area that joins the top and bottom halves together and is the only part that is supposed to be round. What I need to do is to make each of the 16 rectangular polygons curved in the horizontal direction and leave them flat in the vertical direction.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to wrap an image around a curved object. This is a front elevation of a sign I am attempting to render and the sign wraps around a pole. What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
There is any option to merge bottom face of pad eye and pipe curved face... Something like
1. Extrude face to a surface or
2. like notch option available in frame generator ?
N:B - pad eye is made by extrusion and pipe made by frame generator.
If you look in the attached PDF, I have an elliptical wall that also has changes in elevation. call it a compound radius if you will. What I have to do is to make a wall cap to go on top of the wall. I know, sounds fun.....I have the surface on the right of the PDF and i need to figure out how i can take that shape and have it lay flat so that i can cut this shape out on my CNC. i know I can use the FLATSHOT command, but this will not give me the true shape of the board.

I have a non-dynamic block which is simply a donut and a piece of text. When I insert it into a drawing, the text orientation will change to suit the orientation of the layout. I created another block with the same entities but I also added a couple of lines extending out from the center of the donut. I added stretch and rotation actions in order to rotate and stretch the lines. I also gave the block visibility states so that either one or two lines would appear (the block is a utility pole,by the way, with the lines representing guy wires). When I insert the dynamic block into a drawing, I cannot get the text to match the orientation of the viewport. I've tried changing different combinations of settings but the text won't appear horizontal.
The two blocks I mentioned above are inserted into one file with a number of other blocks. When I check the properties of the non-dynamic block, the "match orientation" is set to YES. I cannot, however, change the "match to orientation" setting to YES on the dynamic block. Is this simply because it is a dynamic block or am I missing something? I don't create a lot of dynamic blocks and therefore I am not a wizard at it so I am assuming I am doing something wrong.
I just upgraded to X6. My previous version of CorelDraw used to prompt me when I tried printing a landscape oriented file without changing my printer setup to landscape. This version just goes ahead and prints without matching the paper orientation. I can't tell you how much paper I've wasted!
Is there a setting in X6 that will cause the program to tell me when the project's orientation doesn't match that of my printer setup?
I have 17 printers installed. all but 2 use match orientation. The Canon W6400PG and the MP 5500 use printer orientation. Is there a way to change those 2 to match all the others that work just fine? The default is the HP LaserJet 1200 Series PCL 5.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6

I simply need to change the orientation for printing to a RIP and X6 does not allow this -- as previous CorelDraw versions DID allow.
X6 only wants to print in Protrait orientation only -- I NEED TO PRINT IN LANDSCAPE.
When i add text to a layout it plots vertical not horizontal as add and shown in the layout.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI import dxf file created in CadKey or SolidWorks. I have done this thousands of times but all of a sudden they do not import in the correct orientation x/y plane. They appear to be importing on the edge. I have gone back to old dxf files that have worked perfectly in the past and they no longer import correctly.
Have I, unknowingly, changed some setting on Corel that effects the import of dxf files?
is there any possibility in GIMP to align a text not vertically at the bottom of a text box (there are options for left, right, center and fill but that's only the horizontal alignment). The motivation is, that I change a text in an image quite often and it whould "align itself" if it whould always be aligned at the bottom of the textbox.

How to keep the location and orientation of the “text” to the left of the “mirrored” elements?
In the screenshots below, I wanted to mirror the drawing but still I need to have the “text” to the left of the mirrored objects with the same settings and orientation.
Is there a way to do that?
To overcome this particular need, I mirror the drawing in the regular way then playing abit to let the text appears the way I like them to be.

I cannot make my Custom 12.25 X 18 paper print correctly. Corel and the HP Printing preferences are in sync (it seems) but the print always print in the same spot, regardless of orientation...

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince it's a snow day here I have some time to work on some office stuff. I've created my new template now I want to update my blocks. Because I have to place blocks that show a direction for operation I have created 4 blocks of the same symbol-up, down, left, right. I do this because these blocks have text with them that needs to be orientated to the layout (otherwise I get a nasty letter back from the fire marshal). Now for the text that is constant I just use a annotative text style and have the text match the layout but the text that is an attribute I'm not sure if that can be annotative and match the layout as well.

When I copyclip a dimension from one drawing with UCS set to world/north, then paste into another drawing with UCS rotated in Z (south for example), the text remains oriented to north. The original drawing doesn't have to be set to world, just something different from the paste orientation.
Is there a way to have the text orient itself to the current UCS at paste?
