View 1 RepliesI cannot get Coreldraw X5 to to print in landscape. I am using a GCC postscript printer and Windows XP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI require an equally spaced fine line shading in an extrusion. I will take you through my process and then get to the problem.
I create an object (usually curved text), extrude it and break the extrusion apart;  then I use the fill tool and open fill color dialog, change to palettes and select black, 20%; next I click on options and select Postscript options, from there I select line and an angle and frequency.  This produces exactly the fine line shading I need, when I print it on my postscript printer.
The problem is that when I save the file as an .eps or .ai file to send to another prepress, the screen in their file always show up as dots not lines. I have not been able to find a way around this, the other fill types use tiling and that does not produce the same consistent shading.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to open an EPS file in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, an error appears indicating that "The file cannot be opened".
AND, when PP is trying (unsuccesfully) to load the file, it also convert it into CPT, instead of keeping the EPS format.
(Photoshop can open EPS files without any problem...)

My old Xerox PS printer gave up the ghost, so I'm looking for a new Black and White Postscript Laser Printer.
One factor that is important to me is replacement cartridge cost.
I'm thinking HP for brand but am open to others.
I have a new HP Laserjet M712 B&W printer to replace my aging HP 5000 printer. I'm using X3 & X5 and have installed the HP Universal Postscript driver. The printer is Postscript 3 emulation capable. I have all the settings in the print dialog of Corel the same as the settings from my HP5000 printer, but the new printer fails to print halftones or "dots". The halftone areas are still printing as a solid although I have my screen frequency at 45lpi. Is this a Corel issue or is it a Windows 7 problem, or some kind of user error.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to X5 and now suddenly I am having difficulty printing to my dell 3110cn laser printer. I get the error, "Unable to access printer driver. Try removing and reinstalling this printer driver". If I click OK I get the error a couple of more times followed by "Internal application error." Then Corel Draw crashes. My PC is running Windows 7 64 bit.
I have tried re-installing the printer driver with the latest from dell and uninstalling and re-installing corel draw, but nothing has worked. I am about ready to go back to X4.
I have been printing half tones for quite some years now with no troubles, all of a sudden my post script printer wont print half tones, I must have changed an option somewhere, and dont know what I did whether I have changed something in corel or on the printer itself but I dont think it is the printer .

I run a little print shop as part of our Charity and we produce T-shirts, sublimation mugs and coasters as well as some paper based goods.
I've read a lot about color management but what is the best way to to set up to print to our postscript printers (one OKI 821 & a Ricoh 820DN)
Currently I have the default workspace set to CMYK, sRGB & coated Fogra39 profiles, Â color engine as WCS, preserve black off and the rest as defaults.
My question is how to set up for printing to postscript? I've read that this is best for color accuracy and allows for different colour spaces with in the same document. We print a lot of cards for local artists whose images are edited in Photoshop and output as srgb jpegs. We then import these into corel and add writing using the standard CMYK palette.
At the moment when we print we have corel set to manage colours, output colours as native as there is a combination of of RGB & CMYK elements. Within the printer driver we set either CM off or ICM managed by host, depending on the driver.
Is this correct? I did have a thought that this combination may mean that effectively there is no color management happening at all!?! It is useful for us to keep the jpegs as RGB because some customers will require their artwork on sublimation items as well  which require transfers being produced on a non-postscript device. For these we use a sublimation ICC profile and a PCL driver and it works well.
With postscript I have found that outputting the file as cmyk rather than native dulls the image considerably. However, using native output gives different results from both of our printers.
While using print merge option Corel Draw X5 give me an error when I try to import an existing csv or txt file on the print merge dialog box. It says "Impossible to open the file or not correct file format". The files are made with open office or microsoft works, and in the past I've already used and worked good. Now I find this error...
View 4 Replies View Relatedprint of Gray0 resulting in halftone through HP Laserjet P2035. Two days back it was perfectly printing as solid black. Through MS Paint and MS Word, it is printing black as solid black but not from CorelDraw x6.1. What and where settings got changed, is unknown? Screen shots attached.
Using F8, workspace resetting is tried but results are same i.e. Gray0 as halftone.
I have a simple design in coreldraw X5 and a rectangle with a postscript fill (example: color bubles), now whenever i print out this artwork the rectangle prints in a dark grey color and the rest is OK.
Before i used X4 and the same artwork with the same printer were working perfectly, but now this is happening since i use X5
I have a file set up that has a white box with a 65% transparency lens. Â When I go to print, the white box and what's under it disappear and do not print. Â If I close the document and reopen it, the transparent box and what under it are back.
What do I need to do so this doesn't happen?
I have a picture of a bull rider that i would like to use in one of my next poster designs with the bull rider being the focus of the poster. I would like to use the entire picture as the layout for my poster. My question is..is it possible to fade out the background a bit without fading out the bull rider?

I tried to check my page setup for this document but I can't do that either. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have encountered a problem with the bevel effect of corel draw that I can't seem to resolve. I have a vector image and I convert to curves. Click on effects/bevel/soft edge bevel. I set my distance, I set my shadow colour & light colour and when I apply the bevel it changes the face colour to a murky combination of the original vector colour/shadow colour & light colour. I do not want to change the face colour of the text in any way. Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm very new to corel and i just finished designing a poster but i need to add logos. the problem i'm having is that they're in jpeg and they have a white background. i need to remove the white background. i've tried the magic wand and then going to mask and invert. the problem with this is that i can still see quite a bit of white around the logo. An easier way or do i need to go in and clean up the edges in photo paint's cut out lab? i can do this but it just seems like a lot of work and i have to work with about 15 logos.
