I have a series of points that I calculated (x-y data pairs, they're conic sections from calculus if that matters), and I want to import those points and then sometimes fit either a) a line or b) a curved rectangle (like, a really wide line) that follows these data points.

Basically when I use Outline Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator, then bring back into corel, sometimes get a lot of redundant objects. I already set the settings in Adobe Illustrator to minimize that as much as possible.
This is the second time I've had crashes in X6 64 bit, the first time was importing a very large "XLS" file, and then today while converting a selected group to curves it crashed. I restarted Draw opened the file that I had saved but not converted the part of the drawing I wanted to cut to curves, as soon as I tried to convert to curves it crashed again. Restarted the computer with the same results. I got the job to the cutter so it is not holding me up, but I did want to let the powers that be know about the crash. And I have been converting at least some of each drawing I do to curves with no problems, nothing had changed in the computer so it makes me wonder what's going on. The computer is a i5, 8 gb ram, 2 gb video card, Windows 7 Ult.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf this is possible to have a transparency brush in doing fades on curves. the brush would enable to lighten spot colors when brushed over the curve or curves. you could make a whole graphic fade out around the edges just by brushing over the edges.
You could have the capabilities to adjust the amount of the fade on a tool bar. maybe this is out there, but it would save a lot of time when doing graphics for t shirts and you want to fade the edges of the image on the shirt. you rip program would define the half tones by the transparency fade.

In my old drawing program, I converted the text to curves, then ungrouped the set of letters. I can't seem to be able to do this in Corel. Once converted to curves, when I select the text, the option to ungroup is greyed out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought Corel X5 to design some 2D templates to cut wood in creating cabinets for a Volkswagon Bus Camper. An old VW Bus doesn't have a straight surface in it.
My objective is to take measurements inside the bus for each piece of the cabinet. Think of the inside roof for example... the mission is to create the front of a cabinet that goes from one side of the bus to the other. Thus, a straight line on the bottom and then an arc for the top of cabinet so that it will meet perfectly with the inside roof.
What is needed is to enter x,z coordinates into Corel Draw to define the shape, then plot the result on paper, verify by holding the paper to the actual roof, and then cut the wood using the paper template.I can see that a B-spline is needed, but I don't see how to enter the periodic x,z measurements in Corel to come up with the shape.
I need to make PDFs in PageMaker 6.5 that I can import into CorelDraw12. When making the PDF I have selected "embed all fonts" (I do not have the "convert to curves" option.) but the fonts are not being converted to curves. When imported all fonts display in Corel as artistic type or are substituted. Is there a way to convert fonts to curves in Pagemaker?

I'm a long time Corel user trying out Coreldraw suite 6. I'm having a problem making some shape tools work on text (they work fine on other objects). If, for example, I write a piece of text and then select it, followed by the smear shape tool, most of the time the text is deselected and the tool does nothing. However, the Shape, Smudge and Roughen brushes work OK. I've tried using different fonts and text attribute to no avail. I've tried L&R clicking, holding the button down and double (and multiple) clicking slowly and quickly. But no deal. It's not a mouse or pad problem, it's the same on both.
BUT...guess what, every now and then it decides to work! Sometimes it will work on a piece of text and later won't work on it again.
I just got a new computer. I am currently making a postcard and the text won't type...
My old computer was Windows XP and my new computer is Windows 7. It installed with no problem.
I prepared 32 pages for a magazine. They are all prepared as single pages in Corel Draw X6. Now I would like to check the end result like it would look if I would hold the magazine in my hands. That means that the following pages should be displayed at once on the screen:

I have been trying to make an Artistic Media Spray spray of three images and when I apply them to a shape, I get mess. I can do it fine with one image but when I try to use a few image it doesn't work. I have looked for a tutor and not having any luck.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cleared the temp/cache on my Windows 7 64 bit that has been running CorelDraw Suite 6 since its release. Never an issue. Now, after installing the latest upgrade the program Coreldraw loads just fine and it opened my most current file. After changing a letter in the text box the program crashes. You get a popup window that Coreldraw has closed. I rebooted my machine and it does this each time the program is reloaded.
I went through the common causes of Coreldraw issues and nothing is left to remove or change. Clearly the latest upgrade is flawed and instead of fixing performance issues it has created one that stops the program from working.
I upgraded another computer and the same issue appears after the upgrade. I did a system recovery and now Coreldraw will not open .cdr files into Coreldraw. It now shows a filter error and no file will open.
This has been a feature in CorelDraw for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping that buried in options or customize it can be changed.
When you draw a curved line, the nodes default to Symmetrical rather than Smooth. Symmetrical nodes adjust both sides of the curve when you move the node selection handles which I rarely use. Smooth allows you to adjust once side of the node without effecting the other but still maintaining an in line alignment.
if you can make nodes on a curve default to Smooth rather than Symmetrical?
I tried the cocut software and it worked for about 3 days, now I get the Data in Buffer message on the screen and it does not print. The motors fire up when I try, but it does not cut. XP or Windows &, no difference.

I tried in system properties settings / advanced to allow DEP to allow Corel as an exception but it seems Corel requires dep to run.
Every crash , then file won't open, I have had to go back to backup file.
I'm having some trouble setting my workflow and I need linking data to corel draw from excel. Basically, what I want to do is to have excel data automatically copy from Excel to Draw and "Paste Special / Paste Link Objects/MS Excel Worksheet is almost what I need.
It would be perfect if only it would copy CONTENT of the Excel file or cells, not their formating (font, size, border etc.) which I want to do in Corel, since separation of the content (excel) and form (draw) would be just natural and functional - don't want my number crunchers to affect design of the Draw document, just as I don't want to have my designer to do the math
So - is there way to link objects (cells from Excel) but to transfer content (text) only or should I revert to VBA?
