I know how to use the transparency tool to make and object partially transparent but is there someway to make an entire object transparent so that what you put behind the object shows through? I am using the symbol of our logo and want to put pictures behind it so that they show though.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought Corel X5 to design some 2D templates to cut wood in creating cabinets for a Volkswagon Bus Camper. An old VW Bus doesn't have a straight surface in it.
My objective is to take measurements inside the bus for each piece of the cabinet. Think of the inside roof for example... the mission is to create the front of a cabinet that goes from one side of the bus to the other. Thus, a straight line on the bottom and then an arc for the top of cabinet so that it will meet perfectly with the inside roof.
What is needed is to enter x,z coordinates into Corel Draw to define the shape, then plot the result on paper, verify by holding the paper to the actual roof, and then cut the wood using the paper template.I can see that a B-spline is needed, but I don't see how to enter the periodic x,z measurements in Corel to come up with the shape.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Is it a bug? I tried it with X6, X6.1 and X6.2
I need to make PDFs in PageMaker 6.5 that I can import into CorelDraw12. When making the PDF I have selected "embed all fonts" (I do not have the "convert to curves" option.) but the fonts are not being converted to curves. When imported all fonts display in Corel as artistic type or are substituted. Is there a way to convert fonts to curves in Pagemaker?

I have created some text that is 100% transparent, and has a 1mm outline. I move the text on top of an image which I want to fill the center of the text with. This achieves exactly what I wish, so I freeze the transparency and move the text back away from the image, however when I move it the outline disappears, and I cant get it back.

The file seems to have a backgroundand I cannot alter the original color. It came black and I want it dark green. I tried to out line the object (irregular shape) but it very time consuming and I wondered if there was something obious that I am missing?

Now when I print the file there are errors on the points highlighted by red circles. URL....I don't remember in the past to have had problems with CorelDraw 10 to use this effect.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a long time Corel user trying out Coreldraw suite 6. I'm having a problem making some shape tools work on text (they work fine on other objects). If, for example, I write a piece of text and then select it, followed by the smear shape tool, most of the time the text is deselected and the tool does nothing. However, the Shape, Smudge and Roughen brushes work OK. I've tried using different fonts and text attribute to no avail. I've tried L&R clicking, holding the button down and double (and multiple) clicking slowly and quickly. But no deal. It's not a mouse or pad problem, it's the same on both.
BUT...guess what, every now and then it decides to work! Sometimes it will work on a piece of text and later won't work on it again.
I have a series of points that I calculated (x-y data pairs, they're conic sections from calculus if that matters), and I want to import those points and then sometimes fit either a) a line or b) a curved rectangle (like, a really wide line) that follows these data points.

I have been trying to make an Artistic Media Spray spray of three images and when I apply them to a shape, I get mess. I can do it fine with one image but when I try to use a few image it doesn't work. I have looked for a tutor and not having any luck.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cleared the temp/cache on my Windows 7 64 bit that has been running CorelDraw Suite 6 since its release. Never an issue. Now, after installing the latest upgrade the program Coreldraw loads just fine and it opened my most current file. After changing a letter in the text box the program crashes. You get a popup window that Coreldraw has closed. I rebooted my machine and it does this each time the program is reloaded.
I went through the common causes of Coreldraw issues and nothing is left to remove or change. Clearly the latest upgrade is flawed and instead of fixing performance issues it has created one that stops the program from working.
I upgraded another computer and the same issue appears after the upgrade. I did a system recovery and now Coreldraw will not open .cdr files into Coreldraw. It now shows a filter error and no file will open.
This has been a feature in CorelDraw for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping that buried in options or customize it can be changed.
When you draw a curved line, the nodes default to Symmetrical rather than Smooth. Symmetrical nodes adjust both sides of the curve when you move the node selection handles which I rarely use. Smooth allows you to adjust once side of the node without effecting the other but still maintaining an in line alignment.
if you can make nodes on a curve default to Smooth rather than Symmetrical?
I have Corel 15. I want to take a picture and make it gradually go transparent from the middle of the picture to the top (using Photo Paint I guess), you know the thing with the checkerboard squares. Then I will put it in Draw and overlay some text across the top area where it has gradually gone transparent.
I do not want a sharp line between regular and transparent as if I cut a hole in the background and deleted the hole part. I want a gradual fade sort of transparency for the entire image. I have searched the internet for how to do this even using using Photoshop and there are not instructions available.
I have a JPG with a graphic over a white background. I converted to GIF using Corel PHOTOPAINT. In the GIF Export window, hitting the background with the eyedropper tool is supposed to make anything that color transparent. Things appeared to be working when I clicked the Preview button. But....
Whenever I try to put this new GIF on top of another bitmap, I still have the white rectangle background. I tried I converting the secondary background image to GIF, but I still have the original white box around the first image.

I have a BMP image that is part of a larger logo that I need to be cut out on my inline cutter. The problem is, when I convert the whole logo to the plotter file, the BMP image does not show up. I have tried using the outline trace to convert the BMP to a form my plotter will recognize, but when I save the file, it saves it with a white background that shows up in my plotter image. This white background messes up the whole logo.
Is there any way to save the file where the image has a transparent background? I have been saving it as a .cmx file and there is no option to save it as a transparent background.
I am using CorelDRAW 12. I . would like to print the image on a transparent plastic with 2 colors separations. I scanned the image with black and white color. I would like to print 2 colors on the Transparent Plastic: (1) Black and (2) White
so that I can see White color on the Transparent Plastic under Black Color and then I can't see s.th through the Plastic Bag because the Transparent Plastic is printed with White color and Black color and if I print the image on Red Plastic, I will see White color and Black color on Red Plastic, but I don't know how to solve it in the fast and right way.

I started this exercise off using New from the File menu and then Imported a .png photo. I then feathered out the edges of the photo.
Now I have spent many, many attempts to try and Export this photo (in Corel Photo Paint) as a new .png file so that I can then use it later with other packages e.g. with the hopeful intention of it having a completely transparent background for use with say Power Point. I want the ability to take the new image with a transparent background and place it over an existing background in say PP so that the background "bleeds through" the feathered edges. What is happening is, the feathered edges that I created are no longer transparent when the image gets exported out of Corel Photo Paint as a .png file. They show up as a white glow. I was successful if I followed the steps as given by "Hunter" but I had to create the image wholly in Corel Draw using the transparency tool which does not seem to allow for feathering of the edges of an image. The only way I can see to feather the edges is by using Corel Photo Paint but then I don't get them transparent when I export the file. If I was to create an image with say a circular hole in the middle of it with NO FEATHERING ...sharp edges, all would be fine.
Is it possible to do this in Corel Draw 12?
I have searched everywhere, but all I ever find is people saying TRANSPARENCY.
For this web project we need cropped images with no transparent background, no background at all.
I was just going through the files for our main printed catalog, updating everything and turning individual pages into pdfs for the website, and once again ran into this anomaly. Often, photos with a white background would be processed for the pdf with a black kind of ragged edge line, appearing to be slightly offset from the actual cropping edge from DRAW. This has been an intermittent problem for as long as I can remember. I suspect Adobe is at fault, but what is the solution? I can re-crop the photo and regenerate a new pdf and sometimes that works, but not for a lot of these pics.

The green dots and the dumbell shape are a group and need to follow the contour of the violet colored shape on its edges. So they have to look like they are following the curve. I have tried repeat patterns and so on but they do not follow the curvature of the edge/sketch.

Therefore I have to find the desired bjects to be selected in object manager lying in haphazard order. Is there a way , the objects don’t get dragged while making a selection window from left to right. That means, the objects get selected which are present in the selection window only.

A colleague of mine has problems when moving a textbox.She grab the textbox with the mouse, the complete work area change to a white background, so she doesn't see, where she has to drop the mouse cursor. After she drop the mouse cursor, the background change to the graphic again.
