View 9 RepliesI recently upgraded my computer, and use the same AutoCADLT 2012 software I used on the old system. However, now when I print drawings or make pdfs, they are in color instead of black and white. And the pdfs in color now copy in such a way that some of the layers appear faded, are very light, and are difficult to read. How do I get the prints and pdfs back to black and white, with no color?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to plot this floor plan, which has different layers, and each layer has diferent colour. When I select, dwg to pdf, A4@1:00 ISO full bleed with monocrome applied, and do a prewiew of this plot, all of the layers are plotting black like they should exept one, which is showed in the image. The layer is no diferent from the others. I created a new layer named simillar to the one with the issue, moved things across to the new layer, changed new layer colour, and it fixed the issue.
Also, when ready to plot, the autocad comes up with a message saying that I dont have a pdf reader, but I do. I have the adobe reader installed. Usually, when I plot the drawing as pdf it nicely, automaticaly brings up adobe reader with the drawing, and I can quicly review it. Now I just keep getting this message.
Is there a way to "link" the adobe reader, so that it stops jumping out this message, and instead, opens it outomaticly, like normally it does.
In Elements 2.0 I would like to change a black and white picture to a monochrome in any color of my choice.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Acad LT 2014, Win8. Using stb plot style. I also tried printing from my Win7 laptop, same result. Does not appear to be a Windows8 issue.
I am having something odd happening, I think it is new with 2014.
I noticed that my lines are not actually printing as black, but rather a very dark brown or almost black.
I have a stb style (Bk 1.00), Color = black, screening 100, and for some reason it's not really printing full black.
One layer (A-Elev-Maj) is set for color 132, but the plot style is Bk 1.00. It prints on my Canon Pixma and on pdf as very dark brown.
I have another layer (A-Fill-Bk) set to color 0,0,0, and also plot style Bk 1.00, and it prints dead black.
I tried making the A-Elev-Maj layer 0,0,0 and it still prints an "almost" black.
I checked in the stb file, it is really set to black. I tried 250, as well as 0,0,0 and go the same result.
Attached pdf. You can look at the fence railing or the triangle chimney cap to see the comparison of the A-Fill-Bk which is printing actual black and surronding lines which are "almost" black. Zoom in and you can see it.
I have been working on a large number of sketches. At this stage I am just using the path tool to make the outlines of my cartoons.
I have got fairly confident with the path tool now, however on my first 3 pictures my paths were a mess. The first 3 pictures I stroked the path at 10 pixels, I would like to reduce this to 6 pixels. I am not able to go back to the original paths so I guess I need to select lines from the completed pictures and and convert these to paths, then restroke.
I have been trying to select by colour (it is all black) but that gives me the outline of the black, ie, a double path. I have tried selecting the back ground and expanding it by 2 pixels, this worked but not in tight corners.
I am using 2D-AutoCAD, and trying to plot a drawing on a printer, the drawing is different colors and I want to print it black on white paper, I am unable to select the proper .ctb file from the Plot Style Table pulldown, it does not show up? I have plotted other drawing sets using this method but for some reason cant do it on this particular set.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn M'Space I have created a layout (i.e. buildings) which in P'Space is my Dwg 1. I want to reference part of that layout in what is to be my Dwg 2. On Dwg 2 I want to insert a block (paths), because my dwgs are referenced when I insert that block it appears on both P'Space layouts. I've even tried inserting the block on its own layer but of course if I turn it off it turns off on both dwgs..... Is there a way I can print both the dwgs so they individually look the way I want without having to remember to select "do not print" that layer everytime I need to print Dwg 2?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have created a complex Inventor drawing (Inventor 2013) of a very large plant item which we need to print at about 2AO to put up on a wall for training use. We want to create a high resolution PDF file of the drawing first and then print the PDF having checked the quality and resolution in Acrobat Reader.
We have tried exporting to PDF but we found that the colour shaded fills, behind the lines, are too compressed and the resolution very poor. We tried increasing the paper size but this did not work.We have tried creating a plot file by printing to file using the driver of a large roll feed plotter and then creating a PDF from the resulting file. This was a little more successful but still a long way short of the resolution or line quality we require. When you zoom in the curved lines are very jagged and the colour fill still not good.
We tried printing to a generic Postscript driver but this was even worse as we didn't have enough control over paper size or resolution.
I've got a drawing that is 14"x12" and have a printer that can only handle 8.5 x 11 sheets. I need to print it out full scale because I plan on using the drawing to cut something out. In school, I have seen my teacher print the drawing across multiple sheets, and then he simply tapes the sheets together. I have tried every configuration possible and have had no success.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have written a program within Inventor that list all components of an assy with their properties (iproperties and properties from Producstream) and allow an export of the bill of material to Excel with our company layout.
I want to add a function to my program in order to print all drawings that belong to an assy.
I have the list of components and I want to use the new functionality of the Producstream menu that allows us to open the attached drawing.
But I don’t know which library and which property.
Is is possible to "que" a bunch of drawings to be plotted? I would like to be able to open a drawing and plot it, then while it's plotting, open another drawing and plot it, then another and so on and so on. However, I get an error message stating that another plot is in process and only one plot or publish process can be active at one time. Thus, I'm forced to wait for the last one to complete before sending the next one to the plotter.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to increase the access time so printing is faster?
I have AutoCAD 2013 and access drawings over VPN (6 meg pipe).
Both opening the drawings and especially printing them take a very long time.
It takes about 8 seconds to open drawings, due to all the modules loading on the bottom-left of AutoCAD. Printing takes even longer than opening the drawings.
Is there a setting I can change to speed-up access time?
When we print from a read-only drawing file that is stored on our local drawing fileserver (a PC on our network that is used to store all finished drawing files) it can take several minutes to open the Plot screen and several more minutes to actually print the drawing. It doesn't matter which printer we use to print to. Some of us have had this problem since AutoCAD 2010 but some have had it only since 2013. However if we use an old AutoCAD 2007 there is no printing delay problem so the server doesn't seem to be the source of the problem.
If we print from a drawing file on our own systems (which is actually working off a local network server unless the server is down then we are working off our own computers that will re-sync with the server when it comes back on line) then there is no delay. I have made some local files read-only to see if that was the trigger but no, they printed just fine.
is there a way to choose black as a layer color (for text)? I frequently print USGS map sections with notes added on. I would prefer the text simply be black rather than dark gray (or any of the other dark colors). Typically my drawings are all monochrome, so its not an issue. However, USGS prints are all in color, white text is not automatically recognized as black due to the colored background. Therefore it prints white (absence of color over background) and can't be easily read.
Currently I use color 250. Is there a trick or add-on that would let me select straight black for my text or layer color?
I have a problem when I print documents regardless of the printer I use.
If the document is on the network, colors are printing in black.
But if I copy this document locally on my computer, colors are printing normally.
Note : I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT
I have a drawing file of AutoCAD 2012 with different coloured lines. When I take a print using "monochrome" option also, I get my yellow lines as light black which I don't want. I want all the elements to appear as black of same brightness. What should I do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an issue when using the DWG to PDF plotter built into AutoCAD 2011. It started when I would generate PDFs from AutoCAD and then try printing them to our office printer for a hard copy. I kept getting the "flattening" bar popping up which caused a set of 20 drawings to take 30 mins to print. Where other PDF generators the drawings shoot out of the printer ASAP. And in a busy office likes mine, tying up a printer for that long is kind of frowned upon. But they didn't solve my flattening issue. I tweaked the "Merge Control" as most of the posts mention along with turning off "layers in PDF" as well. My PDFs are still flattening. All my drawings are 2D...no 3D information.
And now I've noticed after changing the "Merge Control" and "Layer Display" in my pc3 file, it is putting black boxes on text that have a background mask...not a wipeout. I know there have been issues in the past with PDFs and wipeouts...but in my case it's the background mask function. I've even tried using a 255,255,255 colour for my background mask colour (instead of my default "background colour") and that didn't work. And the other weird thing is that it's not blacking out all text with background masks. On one drawing it'll be blacked out and in the next, the exact same piece of text will be fine. It's even only blacking out portions of lines of text. Completely random!
How can I print in black and white while using true colors? I've tried the monochrome ctb, monochrome stb, looking for solutions in these forums, etc. The std 255 colors are not a problem. It is only when I use a true color. When I tried the monochrome stb setting, the fill color on my multileaders did not change.
Also, in paperspace, with viewports that had solid objects in them, I used to be able to print and have hidden lines removed without them showing up that way in the viewport. (used 2008 at the time and have jumped from that to 2012)
I seem to remember that the was a variable command that controlled this but I can't remember it.
I want to do is colour in my scanned black-and-white images, but I have no idea where to start.
Basically, I'm drawing black-and-white comic strips, then scanning them in with the aim of colouring them on Photoshop. But first off, my scanner isn't great and it has left shadows that I don't want.
Secondly, it would be a brilliant help if Photoshop could somehow "recognise" which areas were black and which were white, so that all the black bits were the same colour black and all the white was really white rather than off-white in places. This would also help when it comes to filling in the colour, because I could then click "fill colour" (or whatever the appropriate command is) and it wouldn't just fill in a tiny pixel because it's a slightly different shade of white to the pixels next to it.
