AutoCad 2D :: Printing Drawings After Setting Lineweights

Aug 23, 2013

I'm trying to get my HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer to print my drawing when I have set the lineweights. Apparently, it won't show the heavier lines, consequently, all of the lines are the same width.

AutoCAD LT :: Plot Drawings - Lineweights Be The Same

Apr 30, 2013

I'm trying to plot my drawings and have all my line weights be the same in the final plot so that no line is more bold than another. I do custom home designs and am now adding in additional information that uses different colors for appliances, plumbing, etc.

I'm using the standard red, cyan, magenta, green, 252 gray scale colors, however, when I plot, all of the lines except red are thick and make the objects entirely too bold for my purposes. How do I fix this other than changing everything to red? I didn't have this problem when I worked with AutoCAD 2006 at my old company (we had drafters set up this stuff for us), but now that I'm on my own and trying to get my own plotting figured out, I'm struggling.

I attached an example for reference. It's the windows (gray scaled), plumbing fixtures (cyan), and appliances (magenta) that come out entirely too dark.

AutoCAD LT :: Printing And Retaining Lineweights?

Oct 21, 2013

I would like to print a drawing with its ctb. file to a format that allows me to import it into illustrator without losing the set lineweights in the original Autocad drawing.

I've tried it once using a pdf writer, but when imported into illustrator it reverts to one line weight for all the lines.

Is there a better way of retaining the assigned lineweights (per the embedded ctb file) ?

will printing it as an .eps instead of pdf do? and how does one print to .eps?

AutoCAD LT :: Referenced Drawings / Blocks And Printing

Mar 13, 2012

In M'Space I have created a layout (i.e. buildings) which in P'Space is my Dwg 1. I want to reference part of that layout in what is to be my Dwg 2. On Dwg 2 I want to insert a block (paths), because my dwgs are referenced when I insert that block it appears on both P'Space layouts. I've even tried inserting the block on its own layer but of course if I turn it off it turns off on both dwgs..... Is there a way I can print both the dwgs so they individually look the way I want without having to remember to select "do not print" that layer everytime I need to print Dwg 2?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Printing Drawings At High Resolution?

Apr 16, 2013

We have created a complex Inventor drawing (Inventor 2013) of a very large plant item which we need to print at about 2AO to put up on a wall for training use. We want to create a high resolution PDF file of the drawing first and then print the PDF having checked the quality and resolution in Acrobat Reader.

We have tried exporting to PDF but we found that the colour shaded fills, behind the lines, are too compressed and the resolution very poor. We tried increasing the paper size but this did not work.We have tried creating a plot file by printing to file using the driver of a large roll feed plotter and then creating a PDF from the resulting file. This was a little more successful but still a long way short of the resolution or line quality we require. When you zoom in the curved lines are very jagged and the colour fill still not good.

We tried printing to a generic Postscript driver but this was even worse as we didn't have enough control over paper size or resolution.

AutoCAD LT :: Printing And PDF - Drawings In Colors Instead Of Black And White

Dec 26, 2013

I recently upgraded my computer, and use the same AutoCADLT 2012 software I used on the old system. However, now when I print drawings or make pdfs, they are in color instead of black and white. And the pdfs in color now copy in such a way that some of the layers appear faded, are very light, and are difficult to read. How do I get the prints and pdfs back to black and white, with no color?

Is is possible to "que" a bunch of drawings to be plotted? I would like to be able to open a drawing and plot it, then while it's plotting, open another drawing and plot it, then another and so on and so on. However, I get an error message stating that another plot is in process and only one plot or publish process can be active at one time. Thus, I'm forced to wait for the last one to complete before sending the next one to the plotter.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Opening Drawings And Printing Over WAN Is Slow?

Aug 13, 2013

Is there a way to increase the access time so printing is faster?

I have AutoCAD 2013 and access drawings over VPN (6 meg pipe).

Both opening the drawings and especially printing them take a very long time.

It takes about 8 seconds to open drawings, due to all the modules loading on the bottom-left of AutoCAD. Printing takes even longer than opening the drawings.

Is there a setting I can change to speed-up access time?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Long Delays When Printing From Drawings On Local Server?

Feb 8, 2013

When we print from a read-only drawing file that is stored on our local drawing fileserver (a PC on our network that is used to store all finished drawing files) it can take several minutes to open the Plot screen and several more minutes to actually print the drawing.  It doesn't matter which printer we use to print to.  Some of us have had this problem since AutoCAD 2010 but some have had it only since 2013.  However if we use an old AutoCAD 2007 there is no printing delay problem so the server doesn't seem to be the source of the problem.

If we print from a drawing file on our own systems (which is actually working off a local network server unless the server is down then we are working off our own computers that will re-sync with the server when it comes back on line) then there is no delay.  I have  made some local files read-only to see if that was the trigger but no, they printed just fine.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Mac Doesn't Allow For Proper Printing On Their Plot Style Setting

Aug 29, 2013

I am a Mac user and new to AutoCAD. I am enrolled in a CAD class this semester and the instructor for my session is requiring Windows. Supposedly this is because AutoCAD for Mac does not allow for proper printing on their plot style setting.

I understand that I can install Bootcamp and Windows on my computer, but I'd really like to avoid that if I can. If I were to do my work on my Mac and then digitally transfer my files to a PC for printing purposes, would my files become corrupted or compromised in any way?

I've been using Autocad as a student since the 2007 version and haven't had this problem (in any case, I've been able to solve it before).

Now, I have run into the problem of the lineweights not plotting - they are all the same thickness.

I'm using ctb plot styles and I have the lineweights set up in layer properties...

And have lineweights enabled in plot...

And in the plotstyles editor...

And the colour tables as well...

In the end... all the lineweights are the same.

AutoCAD LT :: Drawing That Won't Plot Lineweights?

Mar 2, 2008

I have LT08 and have one drawing using linestyles and colors to determine lineweight for plotting that just will not plot anything other than a "light" lineweight. I have tried making an all new .cbt, existing .cbt's, changing ALL colors to a heavier weight etc. Nothing is working.

Plot preview is light lineweight, plotting to pdf is light and plotting to the plotter is light. I am not having this problem with any other drawings so there must be something set somewhere in this one file. I did not create the model. Someone else did but I did setup the layout sheet, just like I do other drawings.
