AutoCad :: Dynamic Title Block Of Sorts?

Nov 20, 2013

Some of the projects I work on contain 50+ sheets, its very time consuming to alter the title block on each separate layout when either a new amendment is made or a new sheet is added etc. Is it possible to link these certain areas of the title block together so I can alter it on all layouts in one go? I thought about maybe using a dynamic block or just placing it in model space and having viewports in the appropriate area on the layouts?

AutoCad :: Editable Table Within Dynamic Title Block

Jan 24, 2012

I've created a titleblock with a menu to select sheet size, a single set of attributes that serve all the different sheets, but now I'm trying to find a way to add a table.

The table is to sit above the title box and include information on: New revision number
Text detailing changes since the last revision (might be single or multiple line text)
Date of new revision . The bottom line needs to sit flush to the top of the title block so the top line would be moving up the sheet as new lines are added if that makes sense?

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Make Dynamic Block Of Column Radiator

Mar 26, 2012

I'm trying to make a dynamic block of a column radiator.

It should be very simple. It's a 46mm wide module that comes in a range of heights (300, 500, 600, & 750mm) and a range of assembly widths (9, 13, 18, 22 & 27 modules wide - more commonly given as mm widths of 414, 598, 828, 1012 & 1242 respectively).

My attempt at constructing it has gone quite well, but when 'stretching' the block a ghost of the core 414 (w) x 300 (h) unit remains. I attach the block to give you a better idea of what I mean.

AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Create Dynamic Block With Attributes - Drawing Title

Aug 8, 2012

I have searched high and low and still could not find a tutorial to really explain how to create a drawing title with attributes (Detail Number, Sheet Number, Detail Title, Detail Scale).  All I find are on creating dynamic block, which I could achieve, but I need one for a block that has (or will have) attributes.

I was able to find a tutorial on attributed door numbers, but it does not work for drawing titles that has attributes. GOAL:  I would like to have all my seven drawing titles in one file and to be able to stretch the leg of any selected title to a desired length.

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Automated Scale Bar - Title Block Text To Reflect Plotting At Half Size

Sep 27, 2013

Any way to get a scale bar/title block text to reflect plotting at half size?

We use the common (24x36) sheet size for all projects, but when plotting we send out half size (12x18) as well.  This means the scale bar reading 1"=40' is no longer correct. It should read 1"=20'.  I would like to automate this.

AutoCad :: Make 3D Dynamic Block?

Nov 26, 2013

I'm looking to make a simple 3D-Block. From what i read online you cant really create a 3d-dynamic block.

What I want to do: Create a simple cube, then being able to change the size of the cube either with grips or typing in the heights, widths, lengths for the X,Y,Z.

This cube will be used for showing the (No-Fly Zones) for particular areas where VAV-boxes go in a building.

I could create a 2D block with different sizes to it and then insert the block near the VAV-box and then burst or explode the block to then extrude the shape to a required height. (We are working in 3D here)

The purpose for all this! Its then used in Coordination meetings for other trades to see how much clearance there is and required for the HVAC trade.

AutoCad 2D :: How To Make Dynamic Block Annotative

Sep 18, 2013

I have a dynamic block that I created with a bunch of visibility, rotate and stretch parameters and actions. When I created said block, I meant to make it annotative but forgot about it during the initial block definition. Is there a way that I can make the block annotative now, or do I have to go back and re make the block all over again?

AutoCad :: Way To Make Numbers Increment With Dynamic Block

Nov 16, 2011

I've got a D Block that should be REALLY simple. It's an equipment rack that you can array to the side to add more, and stretch up with a linear parameter to change the overall height of the rack. However, we usually have numbers marking the rack units going up the side of the rack. I know there's no way to make the numbers increment with a dynamic block, so I just took them out.

I put in markers so that you could see where the rack units were, but they're not arraying properly!

AutoCAD Inventor :: Retaining Title Block Prompted Entries When Changing Title Blocks

The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.

I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.

After inserting the straight stub, I would like to use a grip to "stretch" the pipe length to the next fitting. Ultimately, I would like to compile a parts list for my pipe drawing that will give me the straight pipe length. I've been doing some searching and 3d dynamic blocks seem to be impossible.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Convert Block Back To Title Block Or Border

Feb 15, 2012

We have a title block and border which is used in MS.  If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected.  We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing.  ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks.  We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.

The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again.  Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

AutoCad :: Attribute In Title Block Exists In Block Editor But Not In Project

Sep 6, 2012

Autocad 2011, Electrical package,

I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: How To Save Dynamic Block Using Save Block Icon

2. When I try to save a dynamic block using the Save Block icon under Open/Save, if the dynamic block is not fully constrained, and I click save, when I reopen the block to edit all of my constraints are gone, this has happened twice. Now I just exit by Xing out and saving changes.

AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks :: Link Dynamic Block Custom Rotation Action

Mar 22, 2013

So I've done a reasonable amount of work with dynamic blocks. I have a block with a rotation action and grip to arbitrarily align it.  However I realized when trying to combine it with an alignment grip (which actions on the basic or fundamental block rotation angle) that there didn't seem to be a way to some how link a dynamic block rotation action or one of the custom angle properties to a the fundamental block rotation angle.  Thus there are two additive rotations at work; the dynamic block one with its grip and the fundamental rotation property.

This can cause some confusion when one person aligns with the grip and another via rotating the block's fundamental property and would also be problematic in the generalized sense if one was trying to select or programmatically read back the net angle alignment.
