View 7 RepliesI need to show column locations in a Plan (overhead) view. The columns are so small that they don't show up very well. Is there an "automagic" (I'd prefer not to have to manually place some kind of sketched symbol on each columns linework) way to do a PART REP (so-called) in a drawing?
I'm using 2012 Premium.
Why am I getting different dimensions and locations in plan and section views for stairs?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working in a project where I need to represent the reflecting ceiling edges in the plan view. I put the first floor plan as underlay, and selected the RCP projection but I don't see the dropped ceiling lines to select them with the linework command. I have done every thing possible with the view range but I don't see the lines.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been working on a drawing that requires me to take .dwg files of 3D equipment and place them into my one drawing for general arrangement purposes. I used it once before but now I'm having a slight issue when I use the flatshot command. I seem to remember Flatshot making my new 2d block at the same coordinates as the existing model and that it would be at zero in the Zed axis (x,y,0). My block now appears and various locations, even when i specify coordinates or basepoint it can be off by a good amount. Is there an option that I'm forgetting or something, so I dont have to manaully move my block back to the desired coordinates?
This isn't a major problem since I can manually match the block back up with the coordinates my model is at and then move it to x,y,0 but I feel like theres a way to ensure I dont have to worry about doing that at all.
Photoshop Elements 6 (20070910.r.377499)
I do not know why the catalog has changed the file location of "ALL" pictures to the location on my backup drive.
Example: K:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG
The actual location of the original photo is: D:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG
The location of "My Pictures" is on my primary Hard Drive D:My DocumentsMy Pictures
Why is Photoshop changing all of my 37,000+ photo thumbnails to point to my Backup Drive K:?
I need to correct the catalog file. How do I make the correction and stop it from happening in the future?
I have a drawing with a table on it that I need other people to be able to fill in. As they don't have access to AutoCAD I thought the best way would be to copy it into word and add the table in there. My problem is I can only get the contents of a viewport to copy if the visual style is set to 2d wireframe using the COPYLINK command. I need to use conceptual and a custom visual style. WMFOUT, JPGOUT and BMPOUT are the same as well. PDFs export ok but I'm having trouble copying to word through that.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got an OLE work document spec that is 2 pages formatted correctly in MS word. When i link in the second page the formatting resets to the beginning in the .dwg file, but is retaining it's correct format in the linked word document. For example the 2nd page in the word doc starts at 2.9.....but is displaying 1.1 in the dwg file....is there a command to stop the reset of 1.1?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Autocad 2013 and have problems when I want to copy some text from Word file. I'm doing that because translating text, which is translated already in Word. I.e., I have a text written in English in Autocad and now I have to select it all, and paste text copied from Word. It changes color (now it's "by Block"), but I change it back to "by Layer; and changes it's style even if in Word it is the same style as in Autocad (it is Arial in Word and in Autocad, but when I paste copied text it is in Times New Roman.
Is there anything to set up not to change this text, because I have a lot of copy/pasteing to do and would save me a lot of time?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have tried copying/pasting into word from AutoCAD and the quality is not good, very distorted.
I have also tried WMFOUT and didn't like the quality either when pasting into Word.
My best option has been to plot and save as a .jpg, and the quality is great except the black lines turn grey and I really need it to be black. Is there a way to make it look black?
I was telling an engineer the other day that I could probably insert his general notes from MS Word into AutoCAD and create nice clean pdf files of the CD sheets that he could email to clients. On second inspection I could tell that, yes I could copy, paste it in, but fixing all the formatting would be a nightmare. Is there any way to retain the formatting such as numbering, tabs etc. when bringing it in to AutoCAD? The idea is to have it be an editable document, so I don't want to just bring it in as a OLE object, pdf or scan.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have a word file that we use a lot for our drawings. There is an empty file that we open and then save the file into the same directory as the drawing.
I am trying to setup some code that will open the empty Word File, and then bring up the Word Save As dialog box with the correct directory and file name already completed. The correct directory and File name will be determined by the Drawing Code.
I have been able to open the Empty Word Document from iLogic with the following
'CRS Template Path & File NameoCRSTemplate = "\WWSERVERDisplaysA-Z Stand PartsCRS-Template.doc" 'Publish document. ThisDoc.Launch(oCRSTemplate)
I have been able to Open the Empty Word File from VBA and then bring up the Word Save As Dialog Box but I cannot work out how to define the initial directory or the initial file name from Inventor.
This is the VBA Code I have been using top open the Empty Word File and Show the Word Save As Dialog Box:
Public Sub OpenCRSDoc1()
'Don't Forget to Add the Word Object Library in the Tools - References
' Call SetCRSDetails
[Code].....
If you try to use the With Command for the FilePicker it will just open the Word Document and NOT the Save As Dialog Box!!!
Example of the With Tried
With FilePicker
.InitialDirectory = "Z:"
.DialogTitle = "Hello"
.Show
End With
How to open a Word Document from either iLogic or VBA (VBA Preferred) and then open the Word Save As Dilog Box and define the Initial Directory and Filename?

Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
I am writing the tutorial and would like to use shaded pictures taken from IDW in the Microsoft Word.
I cannot export these pictures to the vector format due to this shade mode as I use to export the AutoCAD dwg to metafile.
The jpeg, png and other SaveAs give me the IDW background color which actually differs from white.
how to export pictures without this background color or just any other way to do it in better way.
I just recently was upgraded to C3D 2013 and I am designing my first road using the software. I've been having all sorts of fun and frustrations with Corridors and Cross Sections and learning slowly, but its all the little things that keep bogging me down.
One of the problems I have run into is when I use the Code Set label for Grade/Slope in Cross Sections I get label that reads -2.00% and then the word "Vertical". Is there an easy way to get rid of the word "Vertical" in every one of my 90+ Cross Sections? I checked under Label Style and it seems the only option is {Link Grade} which is what puts the Slope and Vertical. I mean what is the purpose in that word even appearing? I know that I can right click on the label and change visibility to False and it won't show, but I shouldn't have to do that for 90+ Cross Sections. Also I've seen the word "Horizontal" labeled as well and I don't want that word to show either.
