View 9 RepliesI inserted a dwg created with Autocad LT 2004 into a MS Word 2010 document using: Insert | Object | Create from file. The result is the desired drawing is inserted but, in addition, the template used to create the dwg is also included and visible as if it is an additional layer. How to keep this from happening?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a lighting block I need to insert into a drawing. Who ever drew the block did so upside down (so the top is really the bottom). I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to "rotate" it so that the top is correct. When I rotate the block, it simply keeps the top the top. When I copy and paste it, it stays the same as well. I tried inserting it into a new drawing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing where I have placed all of my natural gas piping. I have all of the annotative blocks set to 3/32"=1'-0" and 1/32"=1'-0" scales. They are both correctly displayed in this drawing.
When I xref this drawing into another about half of the 1/32" blocks show up correctly. The other half are shifted to the right off of the plan. All of the 3/32" blocks show up correctly.
I have data in an Excel spreadsheet that I want to insert into the drawing in a table format that replicates my spreadsheet formatting and creates AutoCAD entities as opposed to a bitmap image or the mess the TABLE command generates - I'm looking to keep my text consistent within the drawing and I still use the old SIMPLEX font.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was telling an engineer the other day that I could probably insert his general notes from MS Word into AutoCAD and create nice clean pdf files of the CD sheets that he could email to clients. On second inspection I could tell that, yes I could copy, paste it in, but fixing all the formatting would be a nightmare. Is there any way to retain the formatting such as numbering, tabs etc. when bringing it in to AutoCAD? The idea is to have it be an editable document, so I don't want to just bring it in as a OLE object, pdf or scan.

Trouble with embedded OLE DWG objects in word 2010 not opening with AutoCAD 2012
We have a user that can't open some OLE DWG files from within a word document. He had 2010 AutoCAD LT on his machine for a while then was upgraded to 2012 AutoCAD (non LT) once that was there LT 2010 was unistalled. since then he has not been able to open certain embedded OLE files within Word. Other users that have other ever had AutoCAD 2012 have no issue opening this embedded DWG files.
i found this thread (URL....) which sounds exactly what is going on with my enduser. But the fix provided is for AutoCad 2000-2012 not the LT versions.
I've got an OLE work document spec that is 2 pages formatted correctly in MS word. When i link in the second page the formatting resets to the beginning in the .dwg file, but is retaining it's correct format in the linked word document. For example the 2nd page in the word doc starts at 2.9.....but is displaying 1.1 in the dwg file....is there a command to stop the reset of 1.1?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe used Furix BetterWMF 2013 to copy our drawings from AutoCAD 2013 to Word 2007. Never had a problem till we upgraded to 2013 for both products. Now when we paste the drawing into Word (for our product manuals) any Ohm symbols turn into Question marks.
I'm assuming the problem is not AutoCAD, as it displays correctly there. Any problems with Ohm symbols in general in AUtoCAD 2013.
how to export attribute data from a block to a MS Word document template. I am looking to create a check sheet for a drawing, i.e. open a drawing, click a button and a check sheet will be printed out that the operator can complete and sign. However all the drawing info from the title block would already be complete (extracted from the titleblock block attributes).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have designed a letterhead in Ai (CS5). I want to make it a templete for Word 2010.
Currently, I am writing all letters in Ai and making them a PDF. It would be easier in Word.
I've created a set of templates, A3, A2, A1 A0 etc.
When I open the .dwt at A0 it is fine, the correct dimensions for A0, everything is how it should be.
Now, when I'm in a drawing and go on the tabs, right click, "From Template", select the A0 template and it opens a new tab as normal.
However, the paper size is correct, A0. But the actual frame with the attributes is very small in the cornet, about 25 times smaller, so I'm thinking units, mm to inches, but all the INSUNITS are set to 6.

I'm trying to place some pictures (.jpeg, bitmap, whatever) onto an inventor drawing but it won't let me. I see when you create a sketch in a drawing there is an "image" option in the insert tab, however this option is always grayed out for me no matter what I try.
The way I insert pictures on a drawing now is just to create a part, put the image as a decal on that part and create a view in a drawing with a shaded view. However with this option the lighting shows up and kills the image quality and it seems too complicated to be the correct way.
