The last feature of this L-Bracket is a fold. When I create the flat pattern it is only unfolded, not completely flattened. Prior to INV 2009, I could get a wireframe flat pattern with the part still folded. Since then, I have to unfold to get a flat pattern. The only way to show the formed part and flat pattern in IN2012 is to use a derived part with the base component supressed and the base component with the fold supressed.
How to be able to simply flatten this part so I don't have to do extra work with two parts
We are using iPart - iAssembly workflow with Inv-2013 and Vault Basic 2013
My question is related to released state of iparts. Currently we are generating/ releasing
all the iparts when new member is added in order to manintain the parent child version relationship
Example : say i have a ipart 41020.ipt and i have members 41020- 001 ~ 008 . I check out the parent
from Vault and add 009 member to it.
Question :
Do I have to generate all and check those in to maintain the version relationship between the child and parent inside
Vault 2013 ?
Or
Only generating 009 will maintain version relationship inside Vault 2013

How to determine the distance between the two “flights” of the stair?
I couldn’t find the option through which the distance between the two flights is determined.
Also, how to create another landing at the end of the stair!
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
I have the following flights of stairs running down one side of my building:
Landing, 6R with 170mm height, Landing, 3R with 190 height, Landing, 7R with 182 height.
I've modeled this as 3 separate flights of stairs because of the 3 different riser heights. The top landing is a floor slab, as is the bottom landing. I've modeled intermediate landings as either the top or bottom tread of a flight. How do I deal with the junctions of these stairs? The monolithic concrete will not join. The materials of both components are set to <By Category>.
Im a new user of Autodesk Inventor, working in a semi automation company, supplying conveyors and other related customized equipment. how to animate conveyor flow. attached is my file. a box and a conveyor line with straight, curve and spiral path. by self study I learned a lot of animation but this time I'm having problem because it's a combination of curve and spiral
View 3 Replies View RelatedDesigning conveyor or assembly lines in autocad? I know there is Factory layout, but my boss will not pay for the extra softwar. She wants me to get them done with AutoCAD. Im not new to CAD, but she needed me to move to working with line layouts. Also what sites and literature can i study to begin to understand the layout process. Im not talking about 3D tools or part design, its all 2D. Im also looking for the in's and out's of laying out a line for food and bottle product lines. Im thinking the equipment will be a block and possibly being dynamic blocks so that i can lengthen and shorten the parts to fit the space.

I'm trying to create a simplied part of a conveyor. It's not too big yet, just over 7000 occurrences - see attached. Yesterday after about 5 hours I crashed Inventor (2014) and tried again. Eventually I let my PC run through the night and this morning it had completed the task. To save took almost 2 hours, producing an *.IPT of just over 830MB. When I restarted my machine (to free the RAM again) I could not open, getting a serious error.
The old shrinkwraps seemed to work way better. I need to create a "dummy" model which breaks all links to the originals assemblies so no one can tamper with it.
My specs:Inventor Professional 2014, 64 bit edition, I've got an HP Z400 desktop which is a 3.2GHz Processor with 4 cores, 12 GB RAM. NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics card.
I am currently working on a template for a belt conveyor, everything works fine, except for one small detail. I have flip states to relocate the drive. The issues im having is IF the drive is flipped before the width of the table is set, the drive does not end up in the proper place.
I have the mirror lines for the flip states stay centered on the table. I know what needs to be done, which is allow the drives to be stretched only when they are in certain locations. Im just not sure how to do this.
Attached is the file. I am currently using AutoCAD 2009 (this would be much easier with Parametric Constraints) (The block needing work is "Drive Table")
Is there a way to turn off all section tags for drawings refering to all Sketch Layouts in all the Construction Document Layouts?

The problem is this: an additional sketch is created using a rectangle .313 * .094 centered .2815 * .047 from the center of the screwhead. The sketch gets finished the extrusion is created but does not show up. The extrusion is not visible even though a new sketch was created.

I have gotten the coil to taper to the point, however, I'm unable to get thread to terminate properly.
Essentially, the pitch remains the same as it moves down the taper, but the major/minor is diminishing until it terminates cleanly at the point.
I have designed a wooden bracing system and added the wood material properties for the part in Inventor 2012. My question is this - does Inventor have the ability to add stainless steel wood screws to the assembly to make this a 'real world' situation prior to me doing a stress analysis on it ? Something similar to the bolted connections for metal assemblys but for screws in wood is what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to draw standard flat head socket cap screw size 1/4-20 with 5/8 length. I've tried to draw it with the exact dimensions (converted inches to mm) but the head doesn't turn up correctly.
I've done metric screws with dimensions from that site (mcmaster-carr) and they turned out just right.URL....
How do you create a dynamic wood screw block with lookup functinality so that you can select, say, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm screws ect. ect., and both the length and threads change acordingly? Got as far as a lookup for the length with a stretch action but cant get the threads to array acordingly!
View 2 Replies View Relatedimagine a sheet (big black rectangle), then red rectangles are putted into corners.
I want to have one subassembly - red rectangle with screw/bolt or whatever you call it, but i want to change position of screw if necessary (this screw needs to be a part of kit/subassembly) but I do not want a situation when this new screw position is the only reason of making new subassembly.
I tried Position in representation but I can assign constraints only to master level.
I am using Autocad 2012 I have got a solid model with a lot of nuts and bolts, is it possible to get the nut to screw up the bolt (so it looks like it is moving up that bolt) also other parts also move it would be nice to make them look like they are moving to.

I have made a landscape model in meters as units in the modeling area. Now, when I want to scale the drawing in the paper layouts, within the viewport, it seems to me like it's scaling as if the drawing was done with millimeters as units.
I think this might have been caused by me starting to draw, thinking I was plotting in with meters as the unit, but then found that it was set as millimeters. I changed the unit setting for the model to meters and that seemed to work fine. But I'm guessing it didn't work.
I have tried using the INSUNIT command and it says the drawing is in 6, which is meters, so why is it scaling as if it was in millimeters on an A3 layout?
Using Autocad 2000 LT. Need to create a 2D basic drawing showing 14 TPI external and internal threads with a certain class of fit joined togeather. The basic drawing needs to be drawn in such a way that it could be easily changed to show different Threads Per Inch and or class of fit. Then, with that approach in mind, what would be the basic steps I should take in order to create the basic drawing and then easily change it to show different TPI and or class of fit. Note: I only need to show the external and internal threads, not the entire screw or object attached.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a view showing a motor-jackscrew unit with the jackscrew at the fully retracted position and also with the jackscrew at the fully extended position (in phantom). Refer to the attachment.
My initial plan was to have two views in the drawing, one retracted and one extended, and then just align them vertically and horizontally. But it turns out that you can only align vertically OR horizontally, not both at the same time. So I created an assembly of two iAssemblies, one with the screw extended and one retracted. Then I made the drawing view from the direction that placed the extended assembly directly behind the retracted assembly.
