I have a model with many items, each needs to be plotted from several views. One option is to create a layout per view, which means a lot of layouts to manage.
Is there another way? Where I can create a layout with several views so that plotting it will create multiple pages?
I would like to create a sheet drawing that has two plan views or two profile views on the same layout?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a second base view (using Layout/Create View/Base from model space). The problem is, I need it to be rotated from the original base view. However, when I rotate the part in model space, ALL of my views change.
So I guess my question is, how do I create multiple views of the same part that are seperate from the other base views?
I have a 3d object and I am making my title block. I remember a few semesters ago being taught how to get your front, top, right and iso view from inserting the 3d object into the layout. I can't remember for the life of me how. The layout already has the object in it but it's only the main view.
I am using auto cad 2006.
If it is possible to create a sectional view from my model and place that section in a new viewport without changing my other viewports. I have several viewports in my drawing but I need a certain detail section of the model but I do not want any of my viewports to get affected.
I can not have anything added to my model, since later on I will be using this drawing as a xref and I only want the main model to be carried over and not a section detail.
When I create a drawing in model space and then take off several views onthe new layout command, when I go to plot the layout in PDF all the viewsappear with a really thick line weight
I have tried selecting every part of the layout and changing the weight to 0mmas it was before but it doesn't make any difference...
My group and I are getting an infrequent but annoying problem with Model Documentation (MD) generated views in paperspace layout tabs. We all on autocad 2013, with sp1.1 installed on x64 machines.
We are seeing objects/ blocks showing in the MD views (viewbase created) in the layout that are no longer in model space. One common factor in this is that these objects seem to always be externally referenced (xref) files that have been either unloaded or completely detached (both cases purges preformed afterwards to wipe any remaining blocks made no difference). In this latest case the ghost objects show up twice (we needed 2 of the same xref) at what appears to be the correct old coordinates.
We have no work around for this and when this occurs we either have to revert to an older version from vault or create a new dwg, port all information over and recreate all views. The interesting thing about this problem is that if we revert to an older version from vault, the ghosts do not reappear/ reoccur at the same commands they appeared at previously.
I'm hoping to be able to create 3D PDF to share with my clients. I want to be able to have them see 2D renderings and the 3D model at the same time with different views. Is this even possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an exploded view for the first time in Inventor. In trying to follow these directions from the help file.
First I had to customize my ribbon to add these commands because I cannot find the "Presentations" tab.
Next when I inserted these commands into a user commands portion, they were greyed out. I am trying to do this in assembly mode. I assume that is where it should be done.
Is there any way to create a separate BOM for different views? I can create a BOM for each but changes in 1 are duplicated in the second.

Is this possible directly in Inventor? That is, without having to carve out elaborate geometry in the parts and assign red color to the jagged edges.
I can achieve some of what I want in a drawing (Break-out in a view, then making an isometric projected view from that first view with the break-out), but it's still not exactly what I want.
When I create multi sect views they plot 3 rows from left to right shown below:

I would like it to plot from bottom to top like shown below
2+00 5+00
1+00 4+00
0+00 3+00
Is there somewhere to adjust the settings?
I think that some of the settings does not remain for the next use of create sections views wizard.
In example, placing the tables forgets the last parameters I set , so .....
Any trick to have this customized?
Civil 3D (2013) how much you have to improve....
I'd like to have a view frame not linked to any aligment, simply a view frame collection.
The goal is to can create a VF for a cartography purposes or something similar. In example a 10x10 distribution schema.
A trick can be to use a "ghost "aligment , used only to served as environment to create the VF.
The main problem is the annoying link to aligment.
I suppose it is impossible to avoid this , isn`t it ?

I am attempting to create section views from a corridor. I have about 80 sections total that I would really like to stack 3 high...then just across the page. Any step by step that make this process easy to understand?
Right now I get 10 high then across the page (using 'draft' option). I've tried to make a dwt at a 10 scale, (setting the viewport at 10 scale and viewport as a 'section' in the properties), but when I use that, the sections start overlapping (this is using the 'production' option).
When creating multiple section views with production as the placement option, all the sections superimpose on top of each other. Attached graphic.
I tried to attach the .dwt file used for the multi section view, but the site doesn't allow upload of file extension .dwt.
Every time I create the sheets C3D ask me to create a profile view ?
But ... I already have it ....
Does C3D ask always for a new one ?
I am looking for a lisp routine that, when activated, asks the user to select the "preset view" (similar to the preset view command found in the ribbon, but instead smaller and quicker), enter name for the view, end.
If possible, perhaps a command, relating to the routine above, that can be placed in the short-cut menu (right-click), which will list the preset views (made by the user), and be selectable.
The approach is instant view change, where it is possible to apply the command, then reapply to go to another view.
if possible, surely there'd be some people that may be interested in this capability.
I need to be able to create Verified Views. Essentially taking a panoramic photo (flat) and adding CAD models to it accurately (or at least semi accurately).
As I am new to the software, I could really do with some step by step instructions. So, what software to use and a workflow of implementation.
From my limited knowledge, I need to produce a wireframe of terrain, then align the CAD model of the proposed structure, and then add the photo to create the montage.
PS. I have access to the whole Autodesk Suite :-)

I've created a table in a layout. I have the alignment set to middle center, but some cells in the table will show middle center then the data will be entered top right. I'm stumped as what to try next.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to make layouts in external drawings, and therefore cannot use LayoutManager. I've got it working but it seems to me that my solution may not be the best or the "right" way to do it. I found out quickly that each layout needs it's own *Paper_Space# BlockTableRecord and I've resorted to creating one myself. In the code below, you can see that I name my new layout "*Paper_Space". It ends up getting named "*Paper_Space#" in the database, where the # gets incremented automatically. Is this the right way to do it?

recently switched from 2007 to 2010. All of my dwgs in 2010 were created in 2007. When trying to create a pdf of any drawing from any layout...adobe has difficulty reading layer/plot style info...it prints everything gray. I've tried pretty much everything and now think it has to do with importing something (maybe plot style?) from my earlier version? I don't know... need getting my plot style to be read properly by adobe.

the problem is they show up in the list of both sheet and i can't delete them from the list of the sheet that they were before

A) I want to create a copy of an existing layout, which i can do easily. However is there a way to make 30 copies without doing each one manually?
B) I have all my layouts set up the same way. Now i want to change all my 30 layouts in the page setup manager to print A4 instead of A3, and to print Landscape instead of Portrait.
Can these be done? Perhaps with some repeat scripts or something?
Has problem of layout limits such that he can't create more than 6 layouts, the 7th layout is automatically deleted. I know that we can create up to 255 layouts and sometimes more. Is there a variable settings that could have gone wrong inasmuch that the maximum layouts is now 6?

Now I want to predefine a layout, where the projected views should gonna be, independent which .ipt file I have.
Do I create a new .idw and make it look like I want, then save it and open it within the application?
But if I change the savepath it ask me where the file (.ipt) is.
So now I could choose my one, right? But how can I choose my .ipt file in the application?
It won't let me do an operation like openwith or something like that.
Or does there exists another way to predefine a layout?
