Feb 24, 2012Is there any way to create a separate BOM for different views? I can create a BOM for each but changes in 1 are duplicated in the second.

AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Create Multiple Views Of Same Part Separated From Other Base Views
Apr 3, 2013I am trying to create a second base view (using Layout/Create View/Base from model space). The problem is, I need it to be rotated from the original base view. However, when I rotate the part in model space, ALL of my views change.
So I guess my question is, how do I create multiple views of the same part that are seperate from the other base views?

Jan 27, 2012I am trying to create an exploded view for the first time in Inventor. In trying to follow these directions from the help file.
First I had to customize my ribbon to add these commands because I cannot find the "Presentations" tab.
Next when I inserted these commands into a user commands portion, they were greyed out. I am trying to do this in assembly mode. I assume that is where it should be done.

Jun 22, 2013I'd like to be able to create break-out views, somewhat like in the picture below.
Is this possible directly in Inventor? That is, without having to carve out elaborate geometry in the parts and assign red color to the jagged edges.
I can achieve some of what I want in a drawing (Break-out in a view, then making an isometric projected view from that first view with the break-out), but it's still not exactly what I want.

Apr 29, 2013I have 5 separate .ipt's that were created within a major assembly. Is it possible to generate a subassembly of those 5 separate .ipt's within the major assembly keeping all the constraints?
OR
Do I have to start a separate .iam file and import each .ipt and regenerate the complicated constraints all over again?

In example, placing the tables forgets the last parameters I set , so .....
Any trick to have this customized?

Sep 5, 2013I'd like to have a view frame not linked to any aligment, simply a view frame collection.
The goal is to can create a VF for a cartography purposes or something similar. In example a 10x10 distribution schema.
A trick can be to use a "ghost "aligment , used only to served as environment to create the VF.
The main problem is the annoying link to aligment.
I suppose it is impossible to avoid this , isn`t it ?

My intent is to keep my file size to a minimum. I can include surface, alignment and profile per data shortcut but not my corridor. My corridor is 3000 feet long and when I do cross sections in the same drawing, it runs real slow.

Apr 16, 2012I am attempting to create section views from a corridor. I have about 80 sections total that I would really like to stack 3 high...then just across the page. Any step by step that make this process easy to understand?
Right now I get 10 high then across the page (using 'draft' option). I've tried to make a dwt at a 10 scale, (setting the viewport at 10 scale and viewport as a 'section' in the properties), but when I use that, the sections start overlapping (this is using the 'production' option).

The approach is instant view change, where it is possible to apply the command, then reapply to go to another view.

Jan 8, 2014I need to be able to create Verified Views. Essentially taking a panoramic photo (flat) and adding CAD models to it accurately (or at least semi accurately).
As I am new to the software, I could really do with some step by step instructions. So, what software to use and a workflow of implementation.
From my limited knowledge, I need to produce a wireframe of terrain, then align the CAD model of the proposed structure, and then add the photo to create the montage.
PS. I have access to the whole Autodesk Suite :-)

the problem is they show up in the list of both sheet and i can't delete them from the list of the sheet that they were before

What i would like to do is get an image which is 4248 x 3163 and resize it to around 250 px - this was done successfully however the next part of this task was to paste this image onto another background and float it to the right. Now should i create another new paint .net page with the size i have in mind and then paste it to the right?
If yes how could i create a nice background that blends into the image? The type of background i have in mind is a few lines with waves flowing left to right and fading away.

Jan 9, 2013I have created custom text, so that each letter in my 3 letter word is a separate compound object.
Now I have made a filled (with gradient) ellipse and rectangle behind the text to create a clipping mask with all 3 text objects. (see image1) However, when I select all the objects and select: object>clipping mask >make, it only mask the one letter, which is the one on top. (see image 2)
However, when I group the 3 letters together, it does not create a clipping mask at all, it shows nothing... (see image 3)
How do I ake all 3 letters be in the mask?

Apr 7, 2014I'm having trouble trying to figure how to create a mini TOC in a book. The content of the book is divided in 6 files.
Sample of how it looks likes
1) - Front cover (Pg 1)
2) - EN (Pg 2-20)
3) - SE (Pg 21-40)
4) - DE (Pg 41-60)
5) - FR (Pg 61-80)
6) - ES (Pg 81-100)
From file 2-6 they have their own TOC. Simple and it works, since each file have their own list.
I'm trying to create a small TOC on the front cover telling me each page numbers for each language file/chapter.
EN............2-20
SE..........21-40
DE..........41-60
FR..........61-80
ES........81-100
At the moment, I do it manually. But, maybe there is no simple solution....

Jan 19, 2012How could I get the idw views to name themselves? Instead of ” view 1”, “view2” why not have it name itself the file name, the same goes for a parts-list added to idw sheets? When slow clicking them to rename they already have the file name referencing the view or parts list. I have multiple views and multiple parts list on many sheets. Re-naming them is starting to get old!
I took a quick look at “ILOGIC” because that’s my “ILOGIC” speed and nothing jumped out at me.

Jul 18, 2012We need to be able to print each sheet to it's own PDF (preferably automatically naming the pdf in the process). I can't seem to find a way to do it in Inventor itself or the Task Scheduler. I imagine it's something that needs to be present in the PDF driver, but CutePDF and Acrobat Printer don't seem to have that option. Is there one that does?
Surprisingly, AutoCAD and Revit BOTH have this ability. Inventor seems to be the only Autodesk packaging lacking the ability.
