I have a paper blueprint of a floor plan, where all units are expressed in mm. I need to transfer this to autocad, so I am wondering how to construct the plan in mm? (changing units, etc.)
The scale is in 1:100. Does that matter?
I need a Manikin in Inventor. The export from Catia V5 is failed. When I open it in Inventor i cant see anything, only 3 flats. The problem is that i dont find the command to do a Manikin in Inventor.

I have had a go at using the box function then using slice to get the solid into the right shape but then I am unable to slice it at an angle as shown by the red dotted line on my attachment.

I try to use the ACA .Net c# API to add a new construct to my project. Currently in 2013.
In the samples I've found one for basic Projetnavigator things, but adding a new construct isn't covered.
I'm starting to set up Sheets from our template but none of the construct is transfering except for dimension lines. The views are drug in from Project Navigator. Elevations are fine, but when the viewport window is made larger the construct isn't there. I've attached an example of what is supposed to be the floor plan.
I've edited the walls but that made no difference. They are set to start at 0". Is there anything I haven't checked? I'm supposed to go to contract with these drawings next week.
How do I construct a sort of compound curve using Autocad?
What I got is a circle or arc of about R=6. A node or endpoint about 5-6 units away from the center. I want a curve of R=10 to create an arc to go through the endpoint, and be tangent to the arc too. I can visualize it, but cannot draft it.
Now, I realize that there are a few possible solutions, but only one applies. I tried using the 2P function on curves, but instead of being tangent to the curve it comes up at a right angle to it. I can draw a tangent solution within a couple of seconds, but a curve?

The "U" shape is drawn using a sweep of a circle (the hatched section on the atatched image illustrates).
I just can't fathom how to draw the solid at the top oneiter side.
I've been trying to add a plane at an angle, then draw a circle & try to sweep that for each half of the "u", but after a few hours, total fail
I have tried in vain to construct a planetary gear train in Inventor 2011 & the spur gear generator hasn't work much since the results are far from good, I have problems getting all the gears to fit together. The Internal gear has a diametrical pitch of d=120mm & the smallest gear a diametrical pitch of d=20mm, the outcome should produce a 6:1 gear ratio. The 3 other gears only offer stabillity, but I still need to know how I get it all to fit together with my measurements?

I've created a 3d sketch with the run of the tube on it but when I click "Derived Route" although the full 3d sketch is highlighted bugger all happens. There's nothing in the "Included Geometry" folder.
Is it because of the material? I've set it to a "Tube With Bends" and set my default radius.

But I can manually attach the construct using the XREF command. So I know it is not a file/folder permissions problem. What's annoying is that I did get it to work with one construct but not another.

I am drawing a house with a hip roof. The roof has a overhang with fascia and soffit. What is the best way to construct the components of the roof system. Should the hip roof and the soffit with fascia to be one system or two separate systems?

I am working in a project where I need to represent the reflecting ceiling edges in the plan view. I put the first floor plan as underlay, and selected the RCP projection but I don't see the dropped ceiling lines to select them with the linework command. I have done every thing possible with the view range but I don't see the lines.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have several different views xreffed into a single view, should'nt they all share the base construct? i.e. If I want to overlay the lighting plan, HVAC plan and my reflected ceiling plan- they should share the first floor construct. Instead each one brings in the same base construct and then when you overlay them, the walls interfere and you get wall errors.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to replicate the way these circles are connected for use in a new design. At first I tried constructing this with the use of a white outline around the circles. But this isn't a solution, as the white pace around each linked circle obviously isn't a perfect circle itself.
The problem is achieving a perfectly aligned, flowing "s" curve. The connecting points that are giving me trouble are in the red circles.I can approximate the connection points, but this leaves a "kink" in what should be a perfectly flowing "s" curve. I thought smart guides/snap to point would br useful here, but to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two questions about UCS creation/rotation and the AutoCAD PLAN command:
Question 1) I am creating a new UCS, rotating it based on user picks and saving it. The problem is that it saves the new UCS origin location, but it will not save the rotation. The code I am using was pieced together from a couple of different sources (.NET developers guide and code from Tony T from an old thread) How can I make the new UCS "save" the rotation as well?
Question 2) Once I have the new UCS created, I want to esentially use the AutoCAD PLAN command and rotate to the name of the new UCS that was just created. I cannot find ANY info anywhere on the internet on how to replicate the PLAN command using .NET. Here is the code I am using to create, rotate and save the UCS:

I'm using c3d 2013. I'm setting up plan production dwt's for plan-profile, plan, profile and section.
My question is do I need to have a north arrow visible in my plan viewports layouts inside the dwt? I know when creating viewframes and sheets, the dialog has a pull down to add a north arrow at whatever orientation I choose to cut sheets. I didn't know if it will add the north arrow and rotate it based on the one already in the layout tab or if it pulls the north arrow in separately thus having 2 north arrows. Should I take out the north arrow in the plan layouts inside dwt or not?
Having issues plotting. I have a sheet with 3d piping in plan view, viewport is set to Legacy Hidden as always. I have a 3DCLIP plane set to only see pipe at a certain elevation. When plotted, some of the pipe lines are missing. If I change the viewport display view, then the piping is fine but random objects show up that shouldn't b/c of my 3DCLIP plane.

Basically, it's a building that 59' by 92' that has a fenced in yard that is roughly a rectangle. I'd like to fit the site plan on regular 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. I know how to draw lines but don't know how to make them the right lengths. It doesn't need to be perfect with angles but I'd like to make it look nice with like a border and titles and such. I've been trying to read up on how to do it but I just get overwhelmed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNeeded to rotate my plan 180 degrees. So I typed in UCS enter then z enter then 180 enter and then plan enter. My plan rotated and it looked fine. I noticed my crosshairs where now green and red. I needed to add more things to my drawings but the lines I was drawing do not look straight - they look bent and the ucs icon doesnt look square. I attached my drawing for you to see what I am talking about
