Dec 3, 2012I bought a new computer (Dell E5520 laptop with Windows 7) and transfered all my programs/data; Video Studio Pro X4 wouldn't work - would not capture video. I un-installed the program. When I try to install VS ProX4 on my new computer from the disc I get a small blank window and a flashing diaglogue box pops up so quickly I can't read it. I have run virus scans and removed all identified threats. I am running a Intel Core i5, have 4GB Ram and 500GB disk. Installation and operations were great on my old system running XP.

Aug 7, 2013I have Lightroom 5 and a Mac computer..Uploaded photos via card reader to Computer.Lightroom Opened but would not show previews. - said show source - would not open the previews on the imported photos
When I tried to activate the source to upload my photos - all when blank after 1 second of showing information (Photos) that were the previews. - then went blank.I stopped the process and ejected the card correctly through the finder. Thought I would try importing via image capture.
This was also a problem as the previews only showed as a flash of a second.I also notice that for some reason Lightroom 4 keeps on opening when importing photos and not Lightroom 5 - Though Lightroom 5 opens up when I edit other photos.
After Effects :: Didn't Have Verdana And Interface Wouldn't Work Without It
Jul 23, 2013Just download After Effects CC to my desktop and once I opened the program it told me that I didn't have Verdana and the interface wouldn't work without it. It also said that I could replace the font but didn't give me any option and continued by crashing.

Mar 15, 2013Is there a setting that you can turn on that will ignore objects (texts, lines, ect.) that are outside the printable area? If objects are to be placed "outside the box" my titleblock gets inadvertently shifted until the objects are deleted?

Jul 22, 2011I still trying to get 2012 to configured like our previous version. Howcver, I noticed something odd. In several of our drawings I covered some objects with a wipeout. I then sent to the dwg to pdf driver, then printed the pdf. On screen the objects are covered, in the pdf on screen the objects are covered, but in the actual print from the pdf some of the objects are faintly visible. with the previous 2010 version of AC we used. The files are the same and the printer is the same.

Nov 15, 2011I used the layout wizard to configure 2 vertical viewports as instructed in the manual. Next I try to paste an object in one viewport at a scale of 1:20, engineering imperial. The object appears in both viewports in model space. I only want the object in one viewport and I cannot erase the object in the other viewport, since they both dissappear. I also cannot draw a line in one viewport without it appearing in the second viewport. If I switch one viewport to current paper space the line can be drawn but I want each viewport to be at a different scale. Is there some way around this? Is my AutoCAD LT program capable of doing this?

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Styles Not Applying To Xref'd Objects
May 13, 2013I currently have with my plotting. I've recently switched from using a color table plot style to named/layer plot style.
Drawing "TANK.dwg" contains 2d geometry inside a block named "2d-tank" and is on layer '0' in the block, and that block is on layer '0' inside "TANK.dwg"
TANK.dwg is xref'd into "PHASE 1.dwg" several times in several locations. "TANK.dwg" is on layer '0' in "PHASE 1.dwg"
"PHASE 1.dwg" is xref'd into "COMPOSITE.dwg" on layer 'P1'
In "COMPOSITE.dwg" I can change the layer color of layer "P1" and the block "2d-tank" changes color to suit. It derives it's display color based upon layer P1, as everything has been on layer '0' up until now. However, despite picking up the appropriate color, it does not inherit the appropriate plot style. I try to apply a screened/shaded plot style to it and it instead inherits the plot style of layer '0' in "COMPOSITE.dwg"
This is a problem for me as I have 3 phases, and I need to be able to plot them differently, depending on each phase shown. I'd rather see if there is a way to make my current model setup work before I go duplicating thing and restructuring all my drawings to suit a layer style inconsistently, but I need this to print right.
I don't understand why an object would inherit the color of the layer it's on, but not another layer property, specifically its plot style.
AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Grid Lines Showing Up In Prints With 3D Objects
Jan 17, 2012I am having a problem with grid lines showing up in my print out from autocad, but only in the viewport that has 3D objects in it and displayed in conceptual mode or realistic mode. Don't know what is causing them or how to get rid of them. They do not show up on my screen or in the print preview. They only show up in the final prints and even when printing to a pdf file format. I have printed the same drawing out from other computers that have Autocad 2009 and do not get that problem. My computer has Autocad 2010. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Autocad but that doesn't work.

Jan 8, 2013I'm going through some customer equipment models and setting them up in my library for referencing. For example, I'll setup a machine that belongs to a customer, then reference it through a library when I design new tooling and/or components to work with existing equipment.
One such machine is a simple positioner. It's got a linear slide for "X" movement that's got an arm on a mounting plate. The slide has some amount of travel, say 500mm or so. And the mounting plate has 5 sets of mounting holes. So the arm can have four bolts removed and be mounted in any (1) of (5) different locations. This is in addition to the slide's travel.
When I design future assemblies and components for this, I'd like to be able to insert the assembly from a library into my "new" assembly in a flexible configuration where I can set it up using any combination of mounting holes AND slide travel.
So I can setup (5) different positional reps for the mounting hole configs. That's easy. With respect to the slide, I can create a constraint that allows the arm to extend and retract, but how can I get the library assembly to "rest" in multiple locations? For example, I may work on Design A that needs the extension at 241mm and Design B at 316mm.
Would I need to setup a different Pos Rep in the library assembly for the requirements of every new design? Unfortunately, the design is proprietary to the customer, so I really can't post anything about it.

Nov 5, 2013I'm trying to create a label which gives me a distance from the begining of my reference, but coordinates are not good for this because my reference is not linear. It is a alignement with tangents and curves. What I'm trying to figure out is how to create a label with the distance of the projection of the begining point of my feature line in the alignment to the begining of the alignment.
For example: There is a alignment (road) and a feature line (curb). The alignment is the axis of the road and the feature line is an edge of the road (not need to be exactly an offset). How to configure a label to show the two kilometer markers (0.0001 precision) of the road that are the beginning and ending markers of the part of the road that has curb?

May 17, 2013Since I updated to Inventor 2013, every time I try to print an idw as a pdf, it prompts Windows to configure Navisworks Simulate. Message says the feature is on a CD-ROM or removable disk that is not available. The odd thing is Navisworks Simulate is already on my computer as part of the Inventor 2013 installation. Should I reinsert the CD that has Navisworks on it? If I just keep hitting cancel it eventually gets to the pdf creator and everything works fine then.I am thinking of uninstalling the Navisworks.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Configure Transfer From Factory Design Suite Group?
Oct 8, 2012I was unable to configure a transfer from Factory Design Suite Group. This is more appropriate here.
Approx August, Inventor 2013 started to randomly crash.
Until then it was working fine.
Service packs & several re-installs have not cured it.
I cannot replicate the process.
I am lucky if I get 20 minutes of operation.
One day it actually ran all day. The next it crashed maybe 20 times.
Several projects have only needed 2D work which works fine but I have run out of time to postpone the Inventor projects.

Feb 9, 2011I am feeling a bit dumb at the moment. How does one print something larger than the "physical" page size--ie., tiled pages--in Designer Pro 6?
I have a drawing that is 3 times the length of US letter size (actual size of the drawing is 7.5" x 30"). US letter size is 8.5" x 11". The page is defined as landscape, so 11" width, 8.5" height.
I regularly do this using another program and will have constant need to do so in the future.

I see in book illustrations and on-line tutorials that there is a tool bar below the menu bar and above the selected tools option bar with some icons one of which is 'arrange windows' I do not have that toolbar visible and cannot find any way to configure CS6 to display it.

I select all objects and save the design then print, and sometimes only the text prints! the image/photo does not print.
well that is kind of annoying to have a 12x36 panorama canvas with only the text and not the picture, since the canvas is ruined and costs about $12 a print.
3ds Max :: Configure Custom User Paths?
Aug 11, 2011I have a classroom situation using 25 seats of 3ds max 2012. I just added the materials libraries and maps from older versions of 3ds max 2011, since 2012 came with very few libraries. Is there any way to configure 3ds max so all student users can see these new paths correctly without having them to each go to customize, configure user paths? Can I make a change to each machine that it will already be done for any user that is on the machines. Windows 7 Pro OS.

Sep 15, 2011I've been having trouble w/ unresolved file names so I dinked around with the "Configure User Paths" dialogue. I made changes to all the entries so that backburner could see for net rendering. Boy i shouldnt have done that. Now My Mxp files are being saved in the specified project folders but all the subfolders are missing. I have gone back to the fore mentioned dialogue and changed all the paths back to relative. This still hasnt fixed the issue. Is there any way to set this dialogue back to "Factory Defualt"

Sep 27, 2013I have one layout. On that layout I want to have 2 viewports. I also have ssay block A and block B I want to insert.I would like Viewport1 to display block A and viewport 2 to display block B.
What happens to me is when I created Viewport 1 and inserted block A. I go on to create viewport 2. But viewport 2 displays only block A, which I cannon delete to insert block B.

Jan 8, 2013I need to create a map from an 90-degree overhead view (looking straight down at the land). I have an image of a tree (viewed from above) and I would like to add hundreds of copies of the tree to the map in an organic fashion.
Is there anyway to configure the pattern stamp tool like I can configure the brush so that the tree image gets sprayed on to the map randomly with multiple copies at once? Is there anyway to define a brush preset that contains the colors of the tree image I would like to use?
