I'm laying lines on top of an airial photo and my lines seem to be disappearing under the graphic. I know the lines are there, because they will highlight when the cursuer passes over them. Sometimes the lines will be on top and then under. I know there is something I'm doing wrong but can't figure it out. Is there a "Bring to the Front" like in MicroSoft applications.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am tasked with tidying up some drawings that have been exported from Vectorworks and it seems there is a fundamental problem with the drawing.
Some lines do not appear when viewing the drawing, they only appear when panning or when I select all. There are some cases where a line disappears behind a rectangle as if it had a hatch fill yet no such thing exists.
I have attached the drawing in question.
I am using AutoCAD 2012 for Mac.
I have a problem with Inventor 2013. The dimension lines have disappeared. I've been through all the dimension styles and layers to make sure I hadn't turned one off
All other drawings are fine and if I create another even using the same model it works just fine but I'd rather find out why than re-do the whole drawing.
Over the past 6 months we have had the feature lines just up and disappear from the drawing for no reason. They were not erased. They just went away for some reason but the surface created from them was still there.

My surface border and triangles will appear but not the contours. Sometimes if I change surface styles they will appear but other times they are gone forever.

I started a drawing for a project, and so far I don't have much information in the drawing. I created a few objects, then went to one of my Layout pages and created a viewport to view the objects, and bam - some of the lines are missing (the yellow objects). As you can see on the screen grabs, I hovered over the Model tab to prove they're still there. Even when I double-click inside the viewport to edit through it and try to grab the objects, they're apparently gone. But they're not, they show up in the Model tab.
The layer they're on is turned on, thawed, and unlocked, but every object in that layer is missing when I leave the Model tab. I've opened viewports on other Layout pages, and they all refuse to show the yellow lines.
I am having problems with lines disappearing in a sketch randomly. I am in a small assembly, going in and out of sketches used for machining, and then the sketch lines and dimensions will all be gone when I enter a sketch. If I hover over the sketch in the browser I can see the lines highlighted, but when I remove my mouse the will disappear. I cannot interact with the lines or dimensions at all. If I draw a new line, it immediately disappears. I have tried changing some things in the view tab and settings but haven't had any luck.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy students draw all of the individual parts of a product as ipt files. Next they create an assembly using those ipt files on a iam template. Next they generate a multiview assembly drawing on a idw template from the iam file. On the idw multiview assembly random visible lines disappear and we are not able to get them back. Students are turning of the visiblity of some of the hidden lines on the idw assembly but not all hidden lines.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are using a file created by another company and making additions to it for Interiors. While working in this file we have added some new layers and have begun to hatch new walls. While hatching some of these wall my boss received a message saying that the file had errors. He saved and closed the file at that point. When he re-opened the file a number of lines were missing from the file.
They appear to be completely random - i.e. parts of chairs are missing but not the whole chair, parts of walls but not whole walls. The things missing were not all on the same layer and were not necessarily items that had been hatched.
Note - we are running 2012 and the files were created in 2007
Customer supplied me with a "print-ready" PDF and it's in my dropbox folder: [URL]
The map streets supposedly have lines adjacent to the names, but the PDF doesn't show them on my Mac, Acro Pro XI as well as Ily CS6 when I open the PDF.
She created the PDF using Ily CS4 and saved as PDF. Can't see the lines. I asked her to save as .eps... again the lines are 'disappearing.'
When I open her PDF using Ily CS6, I get an error message "An unknown shading type was encountered." Not sure if this has anything to do with the 'disappearing' lines or what.
Is there a way to insert a Ai graphic into msWord and the graphic text still be searchable in msWord? I would like the text in my Ai graphic to be searchable once the graphic is inserted in msWord. I have tried different Ai exports, but all come into msWord as pictures. Is there a way to keep the Text Layer in my Ai file searchable in msWord.

staring with the material:
ive got a red sock and a white sock, and i want to place the colors black red yellow onto the red sock, so that it looks as realistic as poissible. problem is that i cant get the structure of the sock onto the new colors (i tried diffrent blending modes, displace).
I create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?

Circles and diagonal lines look rubbish when i am in hidden view which i use for simple 3d black / white (i think this is the best way?).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 ECW xrefed as images into a drawing which I use as the aerial xref the problem is when I change the UCS the ecw disappears.
So the image only shows when the ucs is set to WUCS - I should also note that just the image disappears I can still see the image frame.
My Coworker has an issue with dimensions disappearing while she is working on completing her drawing. We have tried using Audit..did not work, we thought it was maybe the anno visible tab did not work. She thinks that she did nothing out of the ordinary while working on the drawing. See attached drawing. The drawing is after all but a couple dimensions have disapperaed.

Is there any limitation for viewport rotation with connected features?I have number of connected shapefiles that I can see in model view.
However, my paperspace viewport rotated for 70 degree can't show them.
I am drawing a pond levy. I draw the outline of the top of the fill, set that at the elevation I want, then grade it down to the existing surface on a 6:1. The grading works perfectly. The outline of the fill's footprint shows up just fine around the back of the fill, but the toe line doesn't show up all along the front side of the fill, but I still get the slope lines projecting down in the front.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe are using C3D 2013 and have recently had 3 different episodes where a dwg file was open and being worked in, CAD shut down without warning and the drawing was lost. As in, it's gone. No longer on the network anywhere. These were 3 different drawings in different projects.The drawings were not new, they had been previously created and worked in by more than one user. We were able to find a backup file and did not lose everything but still thinking there has to be something causing this. The machine is a Dell Precision T5600, 16 GB of RAM, only had it for a few months.

Upon binding my dwgs to send to clients, sometimes I run across a serious problem. My xref'ed site plans disappear but my xref manager still lists it as attached, the layer manager still has every xrefed layer, and all other xrefs in the dwg will bind perfectly.
I have broken down all complex objects, purged, audited, cleaned up any excess scales, and even created new fresh dwgs for the xref and the drawing in question; all actions have ended in failure. I have even searched the AutoDesk forums for a solution and have found nothing substantial.
Solution: #1 Use RECOVERALL command on .dwg file that the xrefs disappear from. It will remove all proxy objects and excess scales in the file that is causing it to disappear in the first place.
#2 WBLOCK out the dwg file and any xrefs that are disappearing and insert them into new "clean" .dwg files. Must be done to all files.
the legs seem to be missing bits. They were fine and then i added the seat and back and suddenly parts of the leg vanished??? Still not there when i render.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically, whenever you want to insert a block from outside of this drawing to it you can see it on the screen but after insertion it is disappearing!
+ There is no frozen layer
+ It happens on Modelspace and Paperspace both
+ It happens just on the blocks that you want to insert from outside
+ I used Design Centre to insert a block same issue occurs. The block is not inserted in to the drawing as a hidden object because it is on the Purge list but you can find it on the Insert Block window dropdown menu and when you want to insert it from there again same issue happens! I guess there might be an AutoCAD variable is playing with us here that somebody accidentally changed it.
+ When you use the Quickselect you cannot find any of those blocks on the drawing as well
When i am working in fusion or opening the 3D model (dwf format) in a viewer 3d faces tend to show up on some models and other models some faces disappear. in viewer on product was fine but as soon as i saved it as stp. then opened it in stp. viewer the outer wall was gone.
1. Does this happen to other people?
2. How can i correct this from not happening?
