I am UNABLE to follow a tutorial on how to make a repeatable pattern using 'texture transfer' on some fire I want to make into a pattern!!! every time I select the area I want to use and the 'input map' and paste as new image and I tell Resynthesizer to use that image it ALWAYS errors out as "The Input Map Should Be The Same Size As The Input Texture Image" according to the tutorial another person gave me on this forum he said NOTHING about being the same size!!! in fact, his selection was SMALLER than the actual image that he was using Resynthesizer on!!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.
I saw another thread on this, but it went unanswered, so I am going to ask it with some better information.I installed inventor pro 2012, and it was working fine for a few days, but it now is missing the input boxes for the Precise Input window. URL....

Is there a way to do it in Photoshop or do I look for another app in CS4 for that purpose?
If your scanner manufacturer does not support scanning in 64-bit mode, or you have issues scanning with TWAIN, you can scan into Photoshop CS6 using Apple’s ImageKit technology, which is built into Photoshop CS6, does not need a plug-in to be installed, and provides access to a large number of scanners.
That doesn't work with my Epson Perfection V350 Photo. I wonder if it actually works with any scanner. With Photoshop CS6 have wiped out many scanners that don't have 64-bit compliant drivers, why doesn't Adobe connect with Apple's Image Capture app? Why doesn't the V350 work with the ImageKit technology alllegedly part of Photoshop CS6?
How to use Image Capture to scan slides?
I have an Epson Perfection 4870 scanner.
I"m running Lion 10.7.4 and the version of Image Capture is 6.1.
Or what is the best scanning software to mesh with my Epson Perfection 4870 scanner?
I received a TIF image with 5 pages built in to the single image. When I open it in PS CS it does this Pixel Aspect Ratio thing. Which seems to be fine, but I can't figure out how to view the other pages in the TIF. Since Adobe (I think), owns the TIF format as well as PSD, I assume PS has a function to not only SEE and EDIT multi-page TIF files, but also CREATE them.
So Question 1 is, how do I handle multi-page TIF documents? For reading, editing and creating them? A tutorial or help page or another site, whatever is fastest for you guys. I can't find the functions. Or recommend another app to turn 5 TIFs into a SINGLE document would be fine also.
-------------------
Second question is. I have an older scanner that is on it's way out. I have black and white text documents I need to scan and sign and E-mail. Problem is, my scanner WON'T scan in black and white! The page either comes out blank white or as black and white stripes. I CAN scan as a color, or greyscale image.
Now then, let's say I scan this doc as greyscale, as a JPG.
I open the JPG file in PS. Now the page is not B/W to begin with. The whole of the document has an off-white Grey hue to it. I want to make sure it has solid text (no gradients) because the original multi-page TIF is this way. And I want the background to be solid white and text solid black. When it first comes into PS it is greyscale with gradients on the text and a non-white color across the whole image.
How can I convert this to B/W and have good looking black text on white? Plus how do I take these five scans after converting them, and turn them back into a multi-page TIF like the original?
The other thing to note is, that I am amazed about. The original 5page TIF is only 134KB. But even with all my editing I can get as low as a single, ONE page TIF at 80KB. How in the world did they compress so far and still look so nice with so many pages!
I am hoping to edit these docs, convert to b/w and put back in a 5 page TIF, and not be far off from the original file size.

What I have tried to far is messing with the "Mode". Changing to duotone and other stuff in that menu. I've used magic eraser to try to remove the background (but still looks like crap in and around fonts).
I've used the hue/saturation tools but that doesn't leave crisp lettering.
I can accept "some" baddies around the fonts. Seeing as how it is scanned. But one of my attempts produces pretty nasty looking fonts! Like so:
This is 516% zoom. You can see "something" needs to change to make this clearer. And artifacts still show up here and there as black dots around the document. Somehow I got it to be b/w.
how to scan an image directly into Elements 12 (for Mac). Just "upgraded" from 6 and can find no answers other than to go to Apple menu, scan in with Preview or Image Capture, save to desktop, then retrieve with Elements.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have som old drawings of my house in paper. It is not possible to get the orignals on file.
Is there a way to scan and convert the drawings into DWG files?
I am planning a rebuid of the house, and have started the process of making new drawings. It is a bit tedious to draw to hole house again as long as I have the originals on paper, and I own a scanner...
I saw a discussion similar to this in AutoCAD Maps 3D but it did nto apply to this specific problem. I am working in AutoCAD Architecture 2010.
When I erase a line in my drawing, it selects all lines in my drawing (4194 selected) and then says "scan terminated by control-c." Unless I undo this command it does not allow me to click anything in the drawing.
I'm trying to click on a polyline and change the shape of it by dragging it's corners around. So when I do that, and hit escape to exit the "stretch" command, it undos what I did and I get a "Scan Terminated by Control-C" error.
I've tried auditing (0 errors) and saving, closing the drawing and reopening it. Still does the same thing.
I have a photograph I like but all the background around the item needs to be removed and just leave the main character or item.
I have it as a jpeg or nef item.
I have 3d scan of aircraft door frame (see attach) in point cloud format. I'd like to overlap 5 different frames and construct a new 6th frame by averaging out all of the points.
At the moment, the 3d data files has no surface and I'm unsure if adding surface with the construction of the 6th frame. I will also need to take into consider alignment, point density, and orientation when overlapping all of the frames before I can start work to average all points (Note: each scan are taken from 5 different vehicle).
I have both Rhino3D and Autodesk Alias Design 2012. What are the logical steps to do in this case?
I am working on a research project that requires that I scan a cast object and shell it out to a width of .125 inches. I used my school's 3D scanner to scan the cast, and I have a good model. I've made it a surface and exported it as an STP and an IGS into Inventor. I used the Sculpt feature to make it a solid object, but then I could not shell it because a few flaws in the cast made miniscule holes.
I then tried to use the scanning program's spline feature to cut the cast into splines to loft in Inventor. However, this made 5 non-connected lines at each location, so I couldn't loft. How to create a solid and then shell with either method?
Is there a way to scan or copy our existing rowhouse plans onto auto-cad?
the plans are completely finish so we do not need any changes. we simply want to be able to view these plans thru a cad format.
I just downloaded my trial of inventor suite and before going through learning tutorials I want to find out the general work flow I need in order to see where to focus my attention during these 30 days.I need to be able to do mechanical part and assembly designs built around 3 scan files (mainly provided as .STL files).
1) take the file and orient it to the project axis/plane
2) scale it if needed
3) design components around 3 scan characteristics
4) design modifications to 3D SCAN to accommodate designed components (such as bolean out pockets to house components within 3d scan features
5) modify surface of 3 scan to allow surfaces to flow into changes made in step 4
example:
-take 3d STL scan of a solid screwdriver handle
-orient it to the inventor work planes and axis
-design a metal screwdriver bit based on the shape of the handles 3d scan
-design and boolean out a cavity to accommodate the metal bit
-place bit design within cavity
modify screwdriver handle surfaces to seamlessly flow onto the metal bit... what software would do what part of the process and if there is specific terminology what that is so that I can better search the knowledge base and Autodesk University?

how do i take an image from one picture and place it into a different photo?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI opened a .pdf with an image in the middle that I need to print (house plot map). I then cropped that image from the center so I could get it a bit bigger. The first print was almost perfect, but it lost a bit on two corners. I didn't change any settings and now it's only printing one corner of the image on a full page...really big!
I just need the image to scale to the page. Of course I've selected scale to fit media on the print page. It shows the image on the left of the print page and it looks perfect. Using Photoshop CS3 on Win 7.
How can I tilt image / picture / selection in Paint.net, for example 25 degrees?
I don't mean rotating, but to tilt picture or selection like letters i and l in text in this picture
[URL]...
How can I do that? Is there some way in Paint.net to do that or some plugin?
Even better would be Perspective-tool, like in Gimp. With it you can stretch each corner / selection point of the picture separately to whatever perspective form you like, like in this picture

I just got Paint.NET, and I pasted this image into one of my pictures. I want to rotate the pasted image, but I don't know how to.

I am trying to find a way to import a laser scanned mesh or point cloud file into Inventor (2013) such that I can use it to make a parametric representation of the form. The import format can be STL, OBJ, VRML, XYZ or PLY. I have tried the Mesh Enabler from Autodesk Labs but the files I am looking to work-on are bigger than the enabler can cope with and my system slows right down or locks-up.
I know bespoke reverse engineering software is the ideal way to go but I was hoping there was a way to model over a mesh to represent its form to create a placeholder in a parametric assembly. I'm not looking for accuracy, just a surface or solid output that can be constrained to native inventor parts. If I could get the files to STEP or IGES someway that would be enough.

I have tried to extract the foreground image and then drag the original picture onto the extracted one. I assumed that the I could somehow have the extracted image on its own layer and adjust it. When I do that either in the extracted file (before moving the original picture back onto it) or when I try to select its layer in the resultant picture, the entire picture -- foreground and background -- all layers, seem to get adjusted. How can I isolate the extracted image / layer to be able to adjust just that image.
